Phil came to my daughter's 5th birthday party. He did such a great job keeping the kids attention, keeping them amazed and laughing. It was such a joy to look at the expressions on the kids' faces when they were surprised and how eager they were raising their hands to partake in his magic acts. Thanks again Phil. read more

Phil came to perform his magic show at my daughter's seventh birthday party. We had about seventeen kids here and they were so excited when Phil came to the door. His set up was easy and he didn't need a lot of room. He did a great show and the kids absolutely loved it. His humor is also aimed toward the adults too. Some of the other mothers thought he was hilarious! One of the high lights was when Phil levitated my daughter, there were lots of gasps from the kids! The last part of the show was Buster the bunny, no magic show is complete without the rabbit right! I highly recommend Phil for any events, adults or children! Thank you Phil for making my daughter's seventh birthday so special and memorable! read more

I highly recommend Phil Ackerly magic! I hired him to come to a magic show and magic lessons for 12 kids and he was AWESOME! His tricks were great and believable, his props were first class and he had the kids and the adults in stitches laughing from all of his great jokes. He was able to teach a few great tricks to the kids which they loved, and was very patient and explained them really well. I would hire him again in a heartbeat and would recommend him to all of my friends for kids and adults!!! read more

Phil puts on a fun show for the kids and gets the adults laughing too. We've had him at three parties now and had great time at each.

Phil did a great job performing for a birthday party at our house. The kids loved it, it was a great mix of magic tricks and humor, perfect for the 8-10 year olds we had. Loved how much he involved kids in the performance. Really high quality tricks. And the adults really enjoyed it as well. I particularly liked how he showed the kids how to do a few simple tricks as well, my kids have been practicing ever since! read more

We hired him for my daughter's 3rd birthday and really enjoyed big entertainment in our little front yard. He was on time, very professional, engaging everyone and was so hilarious! I still have tears in my eyes and my belly hurts from laughing. We had people from all ages 1-50+ and this didn't give him any trouble. He made it very worth while for everyone. read more

NOTHING BEATS PHIL. Seriously, if you want to entertain kids or adults and be the center of conversations about what a fantastic party you had, with the magician absolutely stealing the show...call Phil. If mediocrity is your calling, please refrain. He is bound to elevate your gathering/celebration to the absolute highest level possible. read more

Phil provided wonderful tableside slight of hand magic at our company's 10th anniversary Christmas Party. He kept the tables laughing with his "adult" humor and wow'd them with his magic. Phil knows how to cater to his audience and added a great personal element to this large party. Even with a DJ, Casino tables and photobooths to contend with, many would stay at their tables so he would come by and "give them a show". We love Phil and we continue to get comments sent in from our field employees about how great he was, and that they hope he is back every year. read more

Phil responded promptly to my inquiry regarding his availability. He arrived on time and was ready to perform on schedule. Phil is an amazing magician! We had him entertain at our daughter's 11th birthday party. He is very creative and his tricks/illusions are age appropriate and will "wow" any audience. I would recommend Phil without hesitation. read more

I recently held a party for my one year old and there were kids of all ages. I invited Phil to do his magic show and it was an absolute hit. All the kids seemed to have really enjoyed it, I saw them all completely engaged and listening, Phil practically involved each one of the kid in his tricks. There were a pair of 2 year twins and even they were mesmerized, the family was actually able to enjoy the party because the twins were not giving them trouble. Phil captured the kids attention the whole time, adults also enjoyed it, some of the adults even found his stories inspiring. You can't go wrong with Phil's magic show. read more

I hired Phil to perform at my daughter's 9th birthday party at the park. He was very easy to work with. He replied to my emails promptly and was flexible when I changed the venue of the party. The kids thoroughly enjoyed Phil's show. He was both funny and entertaining. I liked the fact that he involved the kids in several of his tricks and made the birthday girl feel special. She especially got a kick out of floating in the air! She still asks, "How did he do that?" Thanks Phil for putting on an entertaining show and for prompting me when it was time to take a Facebook-moment picture :-). read more

Phil entertained about 20 kids at my daughter's birthday today. Kids loved his jokes and all his magic tricks. The surprise at the end with Buster the Bunny was the absolute best. My daughter and her friends didn't know about it and was so surprised. They all got to pet the bunny and take pictures. We also bought the goodie bags and all the kids were excited with it. Thanks to Phil for showing all the treats included. read more

Terrific! Our company hired Phil to mingle with employees and guests during a recent holiday party. The ease at which Phil works the room and captures guests attention is really fun to watch. His slight of hand is incredibly impressive. Our party goers couldn't comprehend many of his tricks. We hope to have Phil join us at a future event. Phil is a class act, total professional and such a fun guy. Having Phil provide magic at our party was a win. Everyone enjoyed having Phil at our event, he brought the fun. Thanks Phil! read more

My wife had seen Phil perform 3-4 years ago, and saved his card for when our son was old enough to thoroughly enjoy the show. She said that Phil's performance was great for children, but also fun and funny for parents/adults. Fast-forward to my son's 7th birthday party. We had about 8 children in our house, and about 7 adults; the children sat in front on the carpet while the adults sat in the background on chairs we'd lined up. The show was great! The children had a blast, and many had the opportunity to participate in the show. At one point, Phil "levitated" my son while my daughter posed under him for pictures. Near the end, Phil gave a how-to demonstration to the children of all the magic tricks he was including in his magic bag that he was leaving to each child. And everyone who wanted to got to pet the beautiful bunny. Phil's story was also motivational... bring up the importance of education, and the belief that you can be anything you want to be. The only bad part is that my 4 year-old daughter now wants Phil for her upcoming birthday party! But she also wants to have it at Pump It Up, and she's concerned that Phil won't know the way. LOL! I think we'll save Phil's card again for a few more years, and then share Phil with her best friends for her 6th or 7th birthday party. One word of advice - even though this was a children's party, the parents that stayed loved it as well. I would definitely invite as many of the children's parents and siblings as possible as they'll all enjoy it, even the very small children loved the bunny! Enjoy! read more

Phil rocks! Just had our son's 6th birthday party with 16 other little people, they all LOVED Phil! I've received at least three calls from parents asking who that Magic Man was. Can't wait for another reason to have a magic show!! read more

Phil is definitely a talented magician and the kids (and adults) at my son's birthday party were well-entertained. The scarf with the child's name on it as well as the "floating child" trick were great. We also enjoyed the live bunny. However, his show includes a great deal of self-advertisement. We would have preferred more magic tricks instead. The kids absolutely loved the goodie bags, so if you hire Phil for a child's birthday party, I would recommend buying the magic trick-filled party bags. read more

One word. Wow! Phil performed at my son's 6th birthday party recently and his act was GREAT! The kids and parents enjoyed the show and commented that he was the best magician EVER! He engages the children, is funny and brings a lot of fun to the party. And I highly recommend him for your next event! Thank you, Phil! read more

Phil Ackerly is one of the best magicians in the bay area. We have hired him for corporate events, birthday parties and everything else in between. He spent the time and customized the show for our needs. His magic and energy was top notch. He kept the audiences engaged and laughing the whole time. It was fun to have at our events and we keep getting requests to have him back. He even has a new show for us every time. It is always a great show and we are hiring him for our next event. read more

My son just had a birthday party, he is into magic right now so we wanted to have a magician perform at his party. Naturally, I went to my trusted source for information on anything in the Bay; I consulted the Bay Area Parent magazine. I found Phil's ad in the classified section. When I called to inquire about his services he was very friendly and was even willing to work with me with the deposit. He was always easy to get a hold of, despite us playing phone tag a few times. He arrived on time as promised, and the show was great. Entertaining a group of 8 year old boys is not easy by any stretch but Phil was able to do just that. I thought it was awesome that some kids were familiar with his show from seeing him perform at certain city events. He certainly entertained the kids and parents. His jokes were appropriate for the age group and he engaged the crowd as well. He really did deliver with his show, he made my son "levitate" and also made a bunny appear, that really wowed the kids! And he was cool enough to let us snap a couple of pictures (and patient about it since my camera was not ready). I would definitely recommend Phil! read more

My husband and I loved watching Phil perform magic at Morocco's Restaurant in Mountain view! We had the best time as Phil entertained diners table-side before the official start of the show! He's charming and has a great sense of humor, as he amazed us with his slight-of-hand. The show was fun to watch, and I'm still trying to figure out how he levitated that table before our eyes. . Definitely thumbs up! Oh ... 'And the food at Morocco's is wonderful, too! read more

Phil is as entertaining for the kids as he is for adults. I've seen him twice now, most recently at the opening of the Northside library. I laughed hard at several of his jokes, and I loved his warmth and passion. As I was putting my 7 yo son to bed tonight, he told me he wants to be just like Phil when he grows up. What an awesome role model, and a dear man. read more

This review is long overdue. Phil entertained us all at my son's eighth birthday last year. Somehow I knew he'd be a good match just from the sound of his voice on the phone- he's easy to talk to and extremely professional. He was recommended by a friend who saw his performance at a local preschool, so he has range. We were impressed with his demeanor and skill as an entertainer for all ages. I have never had so much fun videotaping a birthday party, noting all the adults laughing riotously along with the children. He made both my son and his younger sister feel incredibly special. In fact he's returning to our home this weekend as my daughter wants a repeat performance for her birthday. The best part is that the day after the party, parents (moms and dads alike) went out of their way at school to tell us that was the best birthday party they'd been to in a long time! (Blue Rock BBQ was a appropriate pairing to make the occasion really fun.) Since that birthday, we've seen him at a local library performance and he was just as hilarious. Phil is a gem! read more

Phil was the perfect entertainment for our daughter's 1st birthday. We have two older kids, age 8 and 5, and Phil made them the stars of the show. They sure enjoyed the attention and spotlight! After all, it was a big year for them as well. Not only were all the kids (ranging from age 1-12) were entertained but so many adults were just as mesmerized. He is truly good at what he does. He loves to perform and you can feel that in his performance. I already had a few guests ask for his information. Spectacular job, Phil! read more
