Chipper Lowell, the magician was super energetic, funny and impressive in his magic tricks as well as showmanship. The theater is a small cozy place where every seat feels like front seat. The show was super interactive and he involved and genuinely engaged with nearly everyone in the audience. The jokes were funny but yet very clean and family friendly. We all had a good time and would highly recommend. The location of the theater is super convenient in the Heavenly shoppes location and you could park in the parking lot across the street for 2 hours. We didn't purchase any food at the theater since we just had a late lunch. No outside food is allowed.

Near the Chocolate and Champagne shop. We arrived at 4:13 pm and entered on the ground floor. We assumed they were selling popcorn , as we could smell it, but sent us to the 3rd floor, without offering us any popcorn as an option to take to the show. It was a bit confusing as when we entered the show people had drinks and popcorn. They also had a bar right outside the theater to the show and I overheard someone say you can only take water into the show. Looking around after we sat down we saw many people with cocktails and other drinks. For those of you that are thinking about going to the show. I believe you can buy popcorn on the 1st floor and you can stop at the bar on the 3rd floor and get your drinks before going to the theater. In addition they allow you up to the 3rd floor early, but the doors to the theater open 15 minutes before the show. I also heard that the 4:30 show was geared to kids and the 7:30 show was geared to adults. This we choose the 4:30pm show thinking it would be pg. it was more like pg 13. Some adult humor was thrown in. I'm really glad we didn't go to the 7:30 show as that would have been too much for me. The magic show was great. I have no idea how he performed his tricks. He was both funny and entertaining. I highly Reccomend this as part of your entertainment when you're up in Tahoe.

The tour started with the lower level of the Renaissance Hotel (who provided water and a snack) for a introduction, a historical set-up (in costume) and fun "throw the cards" warm-up. Once outside (fully masked) and "on the road", our tour stops included the old Post Office/West Elm, the Reno Courthouse, the Virginia Street Bridge, Space Whale/Site of old Mapes Hotel, Old Riverside Hotel, one of Reno's historic old Alleys, and Belle Island. In between were stories of hangings, rings thrown from the bridge, missing person/mob hits, possible prohibition liquor runs through alleged tunnels, and of course the church where the finale of Sister Act was filmed. There were also magic tricks, bad jokes, a look up in the sky gag for tour add-ons, a fake birthday song tribute to a surprised restaurant patron, and a very enjoyable and interactive outdoor experience. The expedition ended back at the hotel with a ring magic trick, a bit historical letter reveal, and appreciation for a job well done. This expedition actually left me with wanting more in terms of local historical tidbits and stories. Maybe sometime post-COVID, a longer and smaller attended walking tour would be "in the cards". In the meantime, please buy a ticket to the Weird Reno walking tour and thank you Kalin, Jinger, Jacques, and family for a bringing a little welcome joy to such a challenging time. Sincerely - Shorty

It was nice to experience something new and much needed in a long time. I definitely recommend getting tickets. We were laughing throughout the tour. So much history of which I learned about that I had no idea.., which left me truly inspired. I'll keep an eye out as I overheard there would be special events around Halloween and the holidays yay! It was a great Saturday in which we were enchanted, outdoors and walking triple points. Even celebrating someone's birthday! If I have friends come from out of town I'll be sure to let them know to check out Weird Reno!

The crowd was engaged the whole time and Phil did a great job of keeping the kids focused on his act. He had funny jokes, great use of props and he used the audience multiple times throughout the show to do a trick. He actually called me up on stage to help with a part and it was great. He gave me one tip, "follow my lead" and I did. We did this funny act where we performed a skit in normal speed and then did it in super slow mo, the crowd was roaring in laughter and applause. Phil is a true showman and gentlemen and if you're looking for entertainment at any gathering or party you are hosting give him a shout, you won't be disappointed!!

Phil made my party and the kids love him. He gauges the audience and makes the appropriate tricks/magic based on that. I was surprised how he was able to get the kids attention in an orderly fashion. He also has goody/gift bags which add as a nice combo. I would hire him again! He is worth x2 his rate. the value you get from him is priceless. Thank you again Phil. We are still talking about the show! If you want to have a memorable experience you will not forgot. You will be happy you hired him and not regret it!
