We worked with Cruz Entertainment for a recent wedding in Truckee and unfortunately encountered several challenges both during the planning process and on the day of the event. Communication in the lead-up to the event was inconsistent, with key logistical details needing to be repeated or clarified multiple times. Despite providing a detailed timeline and music preferences well in advance, there were noticeable gaps in preparation and follow-through. Of particular concern was the DJ's dismissive and unprofessional tone in communications with the bride, which caused significant distress and nearly led us to replace him before the event. We reached out to address these concerns in advance, but never received a direct response. On the day of the event, the DJ team arrived over an hour late without notifying the planning team, which caused unnecessary stress and impacted the schedule. Only one lapel mic was brought despite prior communication about the need for two. The AV assistant onsite also shared that he had not been fully briefed on the equipment or the event timeline. Throughout the evening, there was continued confusion regarding the order of formalities and other details that had already been addressed. In addition, we were informed shortly before the event that an extra team member would be present, but it was not made clear that this person was a content creator rather than part of the AV support team. The content creator was disruptive for the couple's hired photographer and videographer, consistently getting in the way. This individual also took a wildly unprofessional and vulgar photo at the photobooth. Photo included in this review. We reached out following the wedding to address these concerns but again, unfortunately received no response. As a wedding planner with over a decade of experience, I believe in giving honest, constructive feedback to help others make informed vendor choices. He was very friendly and helpful throughout the whole process leading up to the ceremony. On our initial consultation Robert was caring and communication was clear, which made us trust that he would help us have the perfect vow renewal! He made some great suggestions of songs as well which I appreciated. They have an app that makes it very easy to upload songs for the specific parts of the ceremony and reception, which I loved! On the day of the wedding he was very professional and did a wonderful job with the flow of the events keeping the guests entertained and dancing. I recently rented the photobooth for a baby shower which was a huge hit at the party. Everything was set up for us, including fun props. The background and personalized overlay were perfect and the pictures looked professional. There were many settings including gifs and boomerangs which everybody had a blast with. Keith played our wedding in July, and he was fantastic! Our dance floor was full of happy attendees all night! We met with him a few times before the actual day of the wedding. In these meetings we discussed playlists (including "do-not play" songs which was helpful!), our venue, and the general vibe we were looking for in our DJ. Not only was he very professional, but he was also accommodating and understanding in every aspect of our wedding. When it came time for the wedding he was punctual and ready to adapt to any changes we threw at him. He was able to transition between dinner music, cutting the cake music, traditional Parent dances, and into the dance floor music with no issues whatsoever. We'd given him a setlist of ideas for songs, in no particular order, and he put together a dance setlist that had a natural flow and kept people dancing all night. Our guests had a great night and everyone was disappointed when we had to leave our venue, no one wanted to stop dancing! Overall, we were extremely satisfied with Keith. We had zero issues in the planning stages or the night of. We couldn't have asked for more and we recommend him to anyone planning an event. read more

My husband and I decided last minute to turn our engagement party into a surprise wedding for our guests and Keith jumped in and made our wedding day the BEST DAY EVER with barely anytime to prepare. We also have a very wide array of musical favorites, some popular like pop, country, rock, others very nonconventional like folk music, and even old 80's rock. I was VERY worried about music, because most people say music and your DJ MAKES a wedding...Keith met with me a couple of times to discuss music types we wanted and what we specifically didn't, the time line he would be announcing and keeping track of and specific song needs for dances or special request songs. Keith made sure to make it our day, with the music we like. At the wedding if guests came up to request songs he made sure to play it, he kept the wedding on time with announcements, dances, etc...and he even did special shout outs to my siblings for certain songs to be played! Originally we figured people would be done dancing around 830 or 9 because our wedding started at 3pm but everyone was having so much fun dancing it ended up going until 11 and people afterward were upset music was done! After the wedding, I was told multiple times from guests (young and old) of how awesome of a DJ he is and how great he did for ALL age groups at the wedding which ranged from 20-70s. Keith is a great guy and an even greater DJ. I would recommend him for ANY event that you have going on. No matter what type or age group, Keith will do an amazing job for you. He had access to so much music that whenever I asked for a song (even during the wedding) he was able to immediately get it OR even find remixes for which was AWESOME!!! Whatever your DJ needs Keith is your guy. He is accommodating, punctual, he has a great personality, is easy to work with and express wants and needs, and above all he made our day the best.
