I saw him this summer at Food Truck Friday. He was awesome with the kids! He was patient and funny and age appropriate. He mentioned that he did adult parties as well. I would love to see him in a non-child atmosphere as well. I have 3 kids aged 1, 8, and 10 and all of them were entertained in fact we went back to Food Truck Friday and had to sit right by Jacques the Magician so we wouldn't miss any of his shows thru the night. Each was different. During one Friday show there was a little boy who kept standing up and trying to see closer, Jacques was very patient and funny on how he responded to the boy each time. WOW. WOW. WOW. That is what Jacques' show left our extended family saying at the end. He came an hour early and set up very carefully. The magic and music was choreographed perfectly. His 40 plus years in the business really show. All of the tricks left everyone with oohs and aahs, puzzled looks and a determination to figure out "how did he do it!" Wow!!! I typically don't care for magician acts, but this guy changed my mind after 10 minutes into his show. I am completely sold on Jacques. I hate magicians that make animals out of balloons or do a few card tricks, but Jacques on the other hand had me and everyone else in the audience guessing for 90 minutes. Some of his tricks like the levitating table and hidden money trick have me wanting to come back for another show as fast as I can. I hired Jacques for an employee Halloween event at my work. When I was looking for a magician, I didn't book directly through him but through another party that I have always trusted. I originally wanted a magic show and I was told it would be $200 for a 1 hour show. I got excited as I was told that he is the best of the best and booked him. A few weeks later, I received an invoice from Jacques, so I could make sure we had his check ready on the day he came to perform, but I noticed that the invoice stated $200 for half hour show. I was so confused and thought he had made a simple mistake. So, I call him and he let's me know that his show would be only for 30 mins bc that is his price. I tried to negotiate with him but he just wasn't willing to work with me. I was really confused and called the people I went through. After they did some investigating, they then tell me that the people they contacted regarding Jacques, gave them the wrong quote. After talking to Jacques, I was then given the option of half hour show or 1 hour one on one magic tricks. I was so disappointed. Everything was already planned and he was going to be the main event. So, my review is not bc he is not a good magician, bc he is. He is actually quite amazing, if I do say so myself. He was funny and entertaining but I can't give him 5 stars bc I ended up looking really bad with my coworkers who worked really hard on this event and I just didn't feel like Jacques was willing to work something out for what could have been, a repeat customer. I still feel bad up to this day that he was just not willing to work with me on a longer magic show without increasing the price (which we couldn't do bc as a non profit organization, we were given only a certain amount for this event). The other party I booked, threw in some extra events for me bc they saw how embarrassed I was with my work and the whole situation. So, that was really nice of them, and that is why I love and trust them. Now that I'm planning my daughter's birthday, I cannot in good conscious hire Jacques. I know it wasn't his fault. The communication got mixed up between both parties, but I'm used to businesses who work on making things right when things go wrong and he just didn't do that for me....and as great as he is, he unfortunately lost me as a customer.
