Communication in the lead-up to the event was inconsistent, with key logistical details needing to be repeated or clarified multiple times. Despite providing a detailed timeline and music preferences well in advance, there were noticeable gaps in preparation and follow-through. Of particular concern was the DJ's dismissive and unprofessional tone in communications with the bride, which caused significant distress and nearly led us to replace him before the event. We reached out to address these concerns in advance, but never received a direct response. On the day of the event, the DJ team arrived over an hour late without notifying the planning team, which caused unnecessary stress and impacted the schedule. Only one lapel mic was brought despite prior communication about the need for two. The AV assistant onsite also shared that he had not been fully briefed on the equipment or the event timeline. Throughout the evening, there was continued confusion regarding the order of formalities and other details that had already been addressed. In addition, we were informed shortly before the event that an extra team member would be present, but it was not made clear that this person was a content creator rather than part of the AV support team. The content creator was disruptive for the couple's hired photographer and videographer, consistently getting in the way. This individual also took a wildly unprofessional and vulgar photo at the photobooth. Photo included in this review. We reached out following the wedding to address these concerns but again, unfortunately received no response. As a wedding planner with over a decade of experience, I believe in giving honest, constructive feedback to help others make informed vendor choices. I hope this review is received in that spirit.

He was very personable, organized, and very passionate about what he does. He made a very good first impression and had plenty of ideas to share to help with the wedding planning process. The app is unique and was very easy to use and help set up a great wedding timeline. You can add songs and rearrange segments of your timeline on your phone or on a desktop. It was easy to share the events to other people such as your partner or a wedding planner if you have one. The photobooth was a hit in our wedding! It was fully customizable, and we were able to do physical prints and digital copies for our guests. The lines were longer than the bar! The dance floor was alive the whole night. We received so many compliments from our guests. "Dancing in the Clouds" was a simple addition that added a very romantic element to our first dance and "The Love Story" added a personal touch and helped show our guest the magic to how we got to where we are. When a majority of our guest had already left before the planned grand exit, Jerod was able to change the timeline quickly and smoothly to a final couple's dance and a final group dance. All our guests were on the dance floor smiling and enjoying the range of tunes they played from songs my parents know and love to 90s hip hop to my favorite electronic beats. The diversity of what they can play was impressive, but the fact that they actually DJ live as opposed to hitting the play button on playlist was awesome. They did an amazing job and created a great atmosphere. They worked really hard to plan the day out with us and learn what kind of music we wanted for different parts of the day. If you catch the bouquet or the garder, you are in for a funny show. JJ has the two sit in the middle of the dance floor, and tells the guy that he has to put the garder as far up the leg of the woman who caught the bouquet. The farther he puts up the garder, the longer the bride and groom are married. I think everyone was laughing for this :) Pick JJ, and you really cannot go wrong! And we were so lucky that Keith was running an "unlimited package" at the time when we booked, which meant he would stay as late as we wanted him to (which all of our friends could not get over how awesome this was) I sent him a very detailed list of songs, versions, times and he got them all perfectly. We were so worried when researching DJ's that we would end up with someone that was corny or just didn't stop talking all night, but Keith's DJ personality was the perfect blend of humor and a laid back approach to the evening. Everyone loved him! Many, many guests complimented his demeanor and song choices. The dance floor was packed all night, literally until he left at 2:00 am! He even went out of his way to take 2 of our friends that were left without a cab to their Tahoe City hotel (complete opposite direction of his home) which we thought was so unbelievably kind. My only regret is that I didn't book Natalia as our wedding coordinator. I met with Keith and Natalia a few weeks before our wedding to touch base about everything (which was so nice that they went out of their way to meet with me and ended up staying for 2 hours!) and Natalia wanted to know about every little detail of the timeline so that she could better support the coordinator that we had already hired. Vesta and I have photographed a lotta weddings and wedding receptions and we've seen our fair share of DJs and Katie and Matt are among the best in Reno. And they're fun people too. And it's really nice when they keep the reception rolling along the way it's supposed too. Vesta and I photographed one wedding where the DJ forgot the bouquet and garter toss. Another where the DJ didn't do the bouquet toss till after most people had gone home, cuz he was so boring and there were only two girls left to catch the flowers. We've worked with Katie and Matt twice and both times they steered the reception along without issue, while staying in tune with the bride and her wishes, even though her wishes may change throughout the evening. Like us, Katie and Matt put the bride first. They are there to do a job and they work for the same person we do, the bride. Her wishes come first. It's her wedding, her special day. Not all DJs know this. Sadly, neither do all photographers. We know it and one of the reasons we like working with Katie and Matt so much is because they know it too. PS.
