Yes he has to bring out the truck, and yes the cost of gas in Los Angeles county has risen, but they might price themselves out of serving people who have been their loyal customers. In the past he and his workers have done a great job. Raising your rates by 25% I understand. Raising your rates 40%--no bueno. Gil's knowledge about trees is A+ and FIVE STARS. I have livestock animals (goats) that I board at my friend's house who is using Ace on their property. My hay stack is up a hill and I was having to use a dolly to take a bale or two at a time to get it up the hill. One of their guys rolls up with the Bobcat and offers to take it up the hill for me. Ace couldn't be better! We had a large, very tall tree in our backyard, in a difficult to reach place. The crew knew exactly what to do. They brought a massive truck with a cherry picker basket and chipper, arced up over the house and other trees, and with expert coordination, had the tree down and chipped, all within 90 minutes. It was so well done, that our neighbors slowed down in their cars to watch. A second truck came toward the end and we had a total of about eight technicians cleaning up our yard and the street. They took great care not to damage the other plants and trees we had in the vicinity of the tree that was taken down, and left everything as neat and clean as before, cleaner, actually. When I called them, on the recommendation of John Windsor, a local arborist, Ace called us back right away, came on a weekend to make the estimate and completed the work two days later. Talk about service! They aren't cheap, but I think the estimate was fair for the complexity of the work involved. You get what you pay for. They are arborists themselves and that is the only kind of tree service I would use, as I don't want hacks butchering my landscaping. Thank you especially Daniel and Gil, but also Carlos and Eladio for being so friendly, efficient and professional. We will be calling them again for other yard work. They came on time and started working right away. They brought all tools needed and used safety equipment through the whole job. I had 2 large juniper trees that needed to be removed. They were up against my house and overhung my neighbor's driveway and house. I also had a large overgrown hibiscus that needed to be thinned and shaped. They used plywood to protect my windows and gas meter as well as my neighbor's house and paver driveway. They completed the job in 2 hours cutting the trees into pieces lowered in a controlled way to the ground. They cleaned up all debris and even blew them off the roof. If you have a fire zone compliance letter they can help you with whatever you need done. I got 6 estimates but Ace Tree Service and Landscaping were the most knowledgeable and safety conscientious. The price was a good one and they provided great service. I would recommend them to anyone. read more

soo punctual - they arrived on time. i love them!! they removed 3 of my 15 year-old palm trees with roots and everything!! they also cut 2 more trees that was not originally plan but took did it anyways for a extra charge. i was shocked to see a well-trained team of at least 7-8. they took meticulous cleaning and care with surrounding things such as the fencing and etc. Cleaned before and after -- it was very professional. I had 16 old, very large, mostly dead Italian Cypress trees that had to be removed. They were 80 ft. tall, and lined my long driveway, making for a very narrow work area. Ace came promptly to my phone call, and provided a really competitive quote. Gil, Danny, and their crew showed up on time as scheduled. They were extremely careful to protect fences, mine and neighboring houses, and sprinkler systems. They brought in a large crane to fasten to the Cypress tops, and then once the base was cut, carefully laid the trees down the driveway for further disposal. They filled three chipper trucks and a huge roll off bin! I was impressed that when one of the trucks was full, the next truck was waiting to take its' place. ALL the equipment was labeled with "ACE Tree Service"- no fly by night rentals here! The crew was very professional, polite and friendly. I have two very tall palms in front of my house that were long overdue for trimming. They were weighted down with loads of fronds and heavy seed pods. After calling several companies I finally found Danny from Ace Tree Service with a 75 ft. reach boom but even with that, the guy had to climb out of the bucket and climb the trees to the top to trim them. They even cleaned up any mess from my neighbor's yard. Has there been a change in ownership or something? I used ACE Tree Service several years ago and because of the great experience called them in December to schedule tree trimming (about 18 trees) and general landscape refreshing for the winter. It's not like I was in a rush, and we scheduled for about 3 weeks later. Maybe a week after I scheduled I decided I wanted to add mulching service. Suddenly the previously nice woman on the phone was huffy and told me to call the scheduler and tell him. I did that, he was clearly in a rush, took down my info, asked if I was gonna be there to show them and that was it. Fast forward now to the day we had scheduled and no one shows up. My first call was an hour after the end of the window they gave me. No answer but I left a message asking if they were still coming. Repeated this the next hour, the hour after that and the hour after that. The fourth call someone answered and acted like she had no idea who I was. She put me on hold, I got disconnected, I called back and no answer. I waited 10-15 minutes called again, she answered, was completely rude, acted surprised no one had called me and told me to call the scheduler (didn't bother to give me his number so good thing I wrote it down the first time I talked to him a couple weeks back). I asked her who the owner is because I wanted to talk to him and she argues with me! Never got his name, no surprise. I call the scheduler and he gives me some song and dance about how it wasn't a service appointment just a come estimate appointment. I disagreed because he had already said he only makes service appointments and he tells me how his manager has been getting all mad when he has been going to do a job without estimating and he came out to estimate my job last week but no one was home. Yeah right. They didn't leave a card and didn't call me or anything but whatever so I ask who hIs manager is so I can talk to him. He starts yelling at me that I can talk to whoever I want because it's not his problem! I asked if he was ever going to come out or should I just take my business elsewhere. He told me yes I should go somewhere else. I cussed him out, hung up on him, and took my business elsewhere! Who needs this hassle and crap... the lies, the deceit, the accusations, the lack of accountability, the no one answering the phone, the no one returning your calls, the arguing. Yeah I cussed him out and I have zero regrets about it. Treat me like that and behave that way and you deserved to be cussed out....and more. I Have used Ace Tree Service for 4 years and each time I have them out for the same job they keep raising the price. This year they raised it another $500! I am very loyal and I was very disappointed and felt they would rather loose a client then return the loyalty. I now feel that they will quote you a reasonable price when you first use them, then every time after you have them give you a quote they raise the price!
