I was at the Clover Rd/In& Out bus stop and according to their published schedule, there should have been a 1 pm bus going towards the Mall. I've been sitting here since 12:50pm and the only bus that stopped here was at 1:15pm. It was the same bus driver that dropped me off here from the Transit Center heading back to the Transit Center. The 1pm bus heading towards the Mall never showed up. The next bus is listed to arrive at 1:50pm l, an hour after I first started waiting.

I am a regular commuter on the ACE train from Stockton to Pleasanton (and BART to SF) and back…read more Wifi is available in most cars, but it is not very reliable. It'll work in downtown Stockton but thereafter, it's touch and go. Sometimes even connecting to the wifi is slow and failure-prone. You're better off tethering to your phone or getting a mifi if you need to work online while on the train. If you want to rest and/or don't want to hear the obnoxious card-playing loud-conversation morning people who board at Lathrop and thereafter, go to rear car trains for a dimmed quiet car. Just remember when getting off at your stop to move to the middle cars as some stations aren't big enough to allow doors in the rear trains to open (e.g. Pleasanton). Parking at Stockton Station is found in two smallish lots that are walking distance to the station. By the 6:40 train, it's starting to get to the point where you wonder if you'll get a parking spot. The trains themselves are not packed, but most of the time you'll be sitting next to someone over the course of the trip. The conductors are fairly strict about where you place your bags, so always stow them or put them in your lap. They also thoroughly check your ticket validation. Despite these points, the train service is great. Very rarely have they been delayed, and if so, only a by minutes going back home. Overall, it's a smooth pleasant ride. They go slowly through the Altamont, which is also the region where your cell and wifi will fail. The ride itself is only slightly faster than an equivalent drive to Pleasanton BART, with the added advantage of not sitting in morning traffic and hunting for BART parking. I wish they'd improve their wifi service and have food available on the trains.

It looks lovely and Spanish like many of the Cali stations do, and it's gorgeous just like a lot of the stations in California. New and shiny and all that good stuff. Its official name is the Downtown Transportation Center which is really not just a bus terminal but used to be the train station. It might start getting trains coming through here with the Altamont Corridor Express in about 2023. It's been used since 1993 exclusively for buses. And it has been open here since 1915, and this is one of many Mission Revival stations which is made to look like a Mission - and it's pretty gorgeous.

When I approached the front desk clerk to ask for the bathroom code, the employee did not respond verbally and instead held up a board with the code, but did so with an attitude. Later, when I asked whether my train was on time, she rolled her eyes and pointed to the board displaying the information. I found this interaction to be unprofessional and awkward. Overall, the experience was disappointing and I hope that staff are reminded to treat customers with respect and patience.

Indoors, tickets are sold, but you must talk from behind the glass, so it can be a bit difficult to hear. Lighting outside is sufficient, except on Weber Avenue. Also, buses going to Tracy, Lathrop, and Manteca change where they are boarded, so be aware.

Also handy to use if I want to go to the city (San Francisco) from this area as well. Luckily, I haven't had to use it to do the daily work commute, which I heard is pretty hectic and brutal in terms of crowds. But my personal experiences this is always been pretty easy to figure out. This location is pretty centrally located to San Ramon, Pleasanton, and of course, Dublin.

I also noticed that there is no easy way to go from one side of the station to the other, the only way to cross is by walking all the way to Fremont Boulevard and then crossing there. There are parking lots on both sides of the railroad tracks and they are separated by a fence so like I said, if you need to go to the other side, just walk all the way to Fremont Boulevard and then cross. You have to pay for parking and they have machines where you can pay by using a credit card. They also have a bicycle parking locker and you can pay at the storage container. also, I did not think it was very easy to tell whether trains were running on time or not. There was a sign that was getting updated, but I still found it somewhat confusing. I think it's probably easier just to check the Amtrak app.

Never been on these before - you get out the normal electric Bart train and conveniently transfer across the platform - just a few steps. The trains are gigantic compared to the old trains from the 60s. There are luggage racks way up high and I think the engines might be in the middle of the cars under. Where I'm guessing the engines are you need to go up and down stairs if you want to move from one train to another. Very unusual train. I'm now curious how this came about - the design. Never been on the OAK airport one - but I think that is electrically cable driven.
