Had a great experience witty Delta Charter Bus. We took over 100+ students/leaders to a winter camp this past weekend. The drive was not the easiest as it was in the mountains and some tough roads. Our drivers handled them like pros. The buses were timely and the drivers were friendly. Everything you can hope for from a bus company. If I can give it 0 stars I would. I came across Delta Charter Bus via online, and I requested a quote online. I had the pleasure of working with Michelle, we communicated quite often via E-mail. They had quoted me a price that I was very satisfied with and I only needed bus services round trip from one location to another for a reception for about 7 hours or so. Michelle had sent me a contract that she first overcharged me for when I asked for a newer bus which should have been 50$ but she charged me $70. Then when I was ready to pay my deposit I asked her about the 70$ charge and I had mentioned "reception" they upped my charge $200 more stating because it is a wedding they charge more, and I still to this day have not fully understood their reasoning as to why. I clearly notified them that it is not even a wedding party, wedding is the day before, this is just a party but they refused to hear any of my reasoning, and their justification on the upcharge for the wedding was because it is "more stress on the driver" and I don't understand how it is more stress because if it was a wedding event (even though it wasn't) how is it any different from any other event. The driver was to simply pick us up, drop us off and once party is done, pick us up and drop us back home. I spoke to Kim the manager and she was stuttering over her words, not able to give me a confident answer as to why I was being charged extra for a wedding transportation and Kim couldn't answer me properly, she had to go and ask another manager who in return still gave me a horrible explanation as to why, still the driver being stressed, to much traffic. all this garbage. The point is, I was sent a contract 3 times from Delta Charter, with 3 different prices. They did not abide by any of those contracts at all, they change the price on you last minute. they try to make more money off of you, and their customer service is poor, Michelle has an attitude. They have no consideration for the customer at all. I am so grateful I found another company who is much more affordable then them and with great customer service. and FYI, there is no where on their website where they state "wedding functions" get charged more money. Honestly, I had such a bad feeling in my stomach after I had this conversation with them last week, I feel horrible that I was being cheated for more money, and the thing is they aren't even able to give you a confident reason as to why I was being charged more besides some garbage about the driver being stressed. Two stars because nobody was actually hurt. Our child's private school used Delta Charter October 22, 2014. Based on child and chaperone reports: 1) The driver was running late that morning. 2) The driver then took a wrong turn, and then had a minor accident during a U-Turn. 3) He picked up the kids anyway. 4) A warning light appeared during the travel to the freeway, about a mile from the freeway. 5) The bus broke down on the freeway onramp. Apparently an engine belt had been damaged in the accident. The kids reported visible damage to the rear of the bus and a "bent pipe" there. 6) After three hours sitting on the freeway ramp, Delta Charter was finally able to arrange a rescue bus (a city-owned school bus). Delta said that unusual demand made the rescue take much longer than normal. 7) The kids missed their joint 'science day' with a partner school. There was no word as to the fate of whatever the driver hit. The school gave a partial disclosure of what happened, Delta Charter gave a full disclosure and an apology. They later terminated the driver. read more

This charter bus company transported my child's 5th grade class to a field trip over 100 miles away. Not only did the bus show up one hour late, an old beat-up, on-it's-last-leg, bus showed up!! They claimed to be running late due to a "mix up" (heard that same poor excuse down below in another review), and it took her 20 minutes to try to leave the parking lot (which we advised her not to pull in to initially), while almost hitting several cars on the way out. She ended up taking a driver's lesson from a parent on board the bus (who is not a CHP certified bus driver), and backing out of the jam she got herself into--of course not before hitting trees and running over curbs. Did I mention that as I watched her back-up, she was laughing? If I could rate this company's customer service & concern for safety, I would definitely give nothing more than a ZERO! read more

I was given the task of organizing a tour day at my work for a group coming from Sacramento. There was a lot of pressure on me to choose a company that would have clean nice buses, be on time, professional, and represent us well. I was overwhelmed by the number of charter bus companies and their reviews. When I contacted Delta Charter Bus they were quick to reply and gave a reasonable quote. Sometime passed before I could get my bosses approval to book (just give me the go already!). I called them exactly two weeks before and they were happy to help. The women I talked to even got us a lower price. I thought I had everything all set to go and my boss came back with a request to have the bus company take two different groups to see one of our other locations (just around the corner). I was worried our price would double and it would make for a ton of confusion. Delta was once again happy to help. They didn't even charge us extra since it would still be within the time frame on our contract. I received 48 hour and 24 hour notices via email. The buses were on time and everything went smooth. I ended up tending to other things during the tour but my coworkers and guests were very happy with the buses and drivers. I would definitely use them again. read more

Best. Company. Ever. I luckily came across Delta just through a Google search when looking for transport options for our wedding guests between Oakland and Tomales Bay, and honestly could not have asked for better service. Absolutely EVERY part of my interaction with them was positive, from contact for the initial quote (they gave us by far and away the best price), to the efficiency with which they dealt with the booking and my queries, their regular contact with details about the day, and the experience on the day itself. Kimberley was my always-friendly and helpful contact in the booking office, and we had the most awesome driver, Brenda, who was wonderful (and happily very accommodating of our somewhat tipsy guests' requests for bathroom breaks en route, as well as the spirited impromptu guitar playing/singing/chanting that broke out for most of the trip ... I don't think I ever saw her without a smile on her face!) Everyone who travelled on the bus said it was an incredible and unmissable part of the wedding day, and we really could not have imagined it working out any better. If you've ever planned big events before, you will know how unusual it is to find a gem of a company like this - one that makes the whole experience so seamlessly pleasant and effortless. Wow, where do I start with this company? I contacted Delta approximately 3 months ago to get a quote for buses to transport my guests back and forth from my hotel to wedding venue. At that time, the salesperson I spoke with told me that Delta was a great company to book with because they aren't a bus broker (i.e. there's no middle man between you and the bus company). Mark seemed nice enough at the time and he seemed like he would be responsive to my needs. THEN. I waited and waited for the quote he promised me. I called. I emailed. I called again. I emailed. Finally 1.5 months later, he gave me a quote that expired in 7 days. I contacted him 3 days later than that, asking if he would still honor the quote, which he said he would. Several weeks later, I contacted Delta and asked them to honor the quote that Mark said he would honor. They would not - apparently, there had been a company wide fuel-increase and they would not bear the risk of that even though they issued a quote that operated as an offer -- one that they had a legal obligation to honor. Mark me that the itinerary I requested had changed repeatedly - which it had not. It had been the same since day one, but he was super disorganized and seriously didn't know what he was quoting. He issued me the wrong quote THREE times - one that either a) didn't have the right number of seats on the bus; (b) wasn't the right type of bus (i.e. school or charter), and (c) didn't have the right itinerary information associated with it. After having enough of dealing with Mark, I asked to speak to his supervisor (who was the same person who answered their phones?). Instead of listening or addressing my concerns, she didn't want to do business with me -- and then she passed me to the owner, Jim, who echoed her decision that I was a persona non grata. All I wanted was a correct quote!!!! I would never ever even consider using this company ... especially not for an important life event like my wedding. read more

I learned about Delta through a friend who used them to charter a bus to a Giants game back in August. They had a hassle-free trip so I decided to check them out. I was nervous because I'm a slacker and hadn't scheduled transportation for the bachelorette party I was hosting. So when I approached them, about scheduling a wine trip for 20 people with 2 weeks notice, I was impressed they could make it happen. Our reservationist was really flexible and communicated throughout the two weeks leading up to our event. When wine-trip-day came we were pleasantly surprised when our driver, Nancy, picked us up early. She rolled with all our punches and our "stop here!" moments without making us feel bad. I used the company twice but will not use again. The first time I used them was in August 9 2014. The driver did not show up. I called the company and was told to call on Monday. I told them that I wanted to speak to a manager. After using language I later had to ask the Lord to forgive me, a manager finally called me. They finally sent a driver, two hours later. The driver was great and we had a great time. They asked me to try their company again which I did March 14, 2015. The driver showed up on time, however, he did not have directions to where we were going. One of the participants and to keep giving directions from her cell phone. They did not empty the septic tank and the bus smelled horrible like an old nursing home. The smell was ridiculous. Prior to boarding the bus, someone had thrown up on it. The bus was never cleaned before we got on it. I will not use this company again. read more

My daughter's school hired Delta for a field trip to the Mercer Caverns yesterday, 6/3/15. On the way home, the bus driver stopped at railroad tracks, opens door, like supposed to. Hears train - kids hear train, too. Crossing arms start coming down, so he STARTS CROSSING THE TRACKS! ONE ARM HIT THE TOP OF THE BUS, SO HE STOPPED ON THE TRACKS. And the kids said they could see the train conductors face. Kids were yelling at him to go, which he did. Kids very shook up, but no one physically injured. The school is filing a complaint, but so am I (as are other parents). If this driver is not fired, I will be filing as complaint with the department of transportation. read more

My experience with Delta Charter bus was out standing. It was a wedding reception, from the reservation day to the day of the function, I was little concerned but bus arrived before time, picked up all my guests and transported them to the event center on time and safely. The guests were very impressed. The event ended after midnight and the driver waited till all the guests were on the bus and brought them home safely. I highly recommend Delta Buses to everbody. Based on her recommendation and our desire to find a charter company that allowed alcohol to be served on the bus, we decided to take a chance. We were delighted with the outcome. Worst experience I have ever had on a bus. My trip was from Modesto California to Claremont which is originally a 5 hour ride, the bus broke down putting us behind schedule, I was on the bus for a total of 10 hours. On my returning trip the bus was scheduled to arrive by 12 however did not show up till 2:10, because it broke down. Causing us to arrive home way past the time expected. These were 2 separate buses that broke down for the same reason. In addition the drivers were very rude and inconsiderate. read more

My daughter took Delta Charter bus company down to Girls State conference in So. Cal. Bus overheated on the Grapevine and they arrived 2 hours late missing the opening ceremony and speakers. Bummer. To make it worse, the bus was late picking them up on Friday for the return trip(holiday weekend) overheated again on the Grapevine and had to shut off the AC on a 95 degree day. Save your money! I repeat save your money!!!! This is not a company to use if you need transportation for your wedding guests. DO NOT DO BUSINESS with them!!!! I am extremely organized and I made a reservation with a lady named Stacy back in september and we paid in full on the spot to have the dispatcher pick up my wedding party and our guests at certain times at one hotel location. I guess this was too hard for her to tell her drivers because she completely dropped the ball. Not only did our bus not pick up the wedding party and we were late by a half hour, but they went to the wrong hotel. Luckily we had the hotel shuttles take us and our guests to the venue. The bus company didn't even come in to get out guests at the hotel. They left them. Ten out-of-town guests missed our ceremony! Stacy completely dropped tha ball and was unprofessional. She would give me information about other peoples reservations. She did not return calls back or emails. Even her manager said she doesn't know how planning a wedding can be stressful so she doesn't have it together. That is still no excuse for mistakes since the instructions were so simple a fourth grader could follow it. Then when my husband called to get half of our money back since it was a half-ass job the managers gave us the run around and their way of compensation was a sincere apology. An apology doesn't take away that some of our guests missed our ceremony! My husband said we would take them to small claims just because of the principal and hours later much hours later they gave us almost close to half our money back . I am sure I missed some more details but I can assure you please do not use this company! This was the worst vendor we had to deal with. Save your money and save your stress for something else. Mark Burgess, the Reservation Specialist at Delta Charter Services did an excellent job coordinating our 5 buses for my corporate holiday party this past Saturday evening. As our headcount grew over the 5 weeks of preparatory planning, Mark was accommodating and came back with updated quotes on a timely basis. Two days prior to the event, Mark gave me the direct cell phone numbers of all 5 drivers so we could be in communication the day of the event. The afternoon of the event, I received a call from the dispatcher Anthony who gave me his direct cell number and a back-up dispatcher's contact info in case of any issues. Due to the weather, our event ended over two hours late but dispatch coordinated flawlessly with our event location planner and our bus drivers to keep them abreast of the situation. The drivers waited patiently for our return and shuttled all passengers back to their starting destinations without an issue. I highly recommend Delta for your corporate needs. read more
