i was heading to work this morning (spring valley area) and my car suddenly had a "engine coolant over temperature" notification pop up on my screen and had to get it towed to the nearest auto shop. I called and the person that I spoke to sent a driver right away and it was less than 15 mins before they showed up. The driver was very nice and helpful. I was quoted $125 and there were no hidden fees and it felt like a fair rate to charge. I see so many people describe hidden charges from tow companies but Ace didn't do that. This was the fourth towing company I called for a jump for my dead battery. They gave me an arrival time of 30 minutes. 20 minutes later, the driver called to let me know he was 10 minutes out. He showed up on time and started my car very quickly. I asked if he knew where I could buy a battery. He suggested a nearby auto parts store. I asked if they did installation. Next thing I knew, he handed me a piece of paper with the phone number of the store and the name of someone he had spoken to.. He called the store and verified that they could install the battery. Very impressed with the timeliness and customer service of driver Koa and the person who answered the phone originally. They did what they said they would do and they went above and beyond. Responsive, and that's where the positive stops. Owner asked the problem with the car when tow was scheduled, and was subsequently informed that it did not have any fluids (oil, transmission, coolant...) and turbo damage. Yet the tower (son) decided to start the car and drive it around the parking lot for convenience. Was met with "trust me, hunny," and "the owner is my dad, so it doesn't matter what you say or that you have complaints" when asked to turn it off immediately. A simple apology was never offered, despite speaking to the owner/father directly. "That doesn't sound like my son," and "I'm sure it has engine damage already" we're his rebuttal. To add irony to the situation, the son decided to diagnose the car himself. At no point has it been diagnosed with block issues, yet he thought it appropriate to write it on the receipt. Save yourself the trouble of incompetence and go with a different company. read more
