I would never recommend this towing company or repair shop!! To be fair, the tow truck arrived quickly as I was in the middle of I-66, but that's about it. After towing my vehicle, I was told it would either be looked at that evening or first thing the following morning. The company also refused to accept a credit card and only wanted payment through Cash App or Zelle. I even questioned it at the time but was on the side of interstate so didn't have much of a choice and paid the $150. ** The next day around noon, I went to the shop expecting to hear the diagnosis based on what I had been told. Instead, I found out they hadn't even started looking at my car. While I was there, I was shocked by the condition of the shop. IT'S DISGUSTING. I love cats, so this has nothing to do with animals being present. The cats roaming the building had VISIBLE fleas and ticks crawling all over them, there was heavy dust and hair and who knows what everywhere, trash scattered throughout the office and shop, and the entire place looked completely unsanitary and poorly maintained. I literally had to spray myself down before coming home so I didn't pass the bugs along to my dog. ‼‼ IF A BUSINESS CAN'T MAINTAIN A CLEAN WORKSPACE OR PROPERLY CARE FOR THE ANIMALS LIVING THERE, IT DOESN'T INSPIRE CONFIDENCE THAT THEY'LL PROPERLY DIAGNOSE OR REPAIR A CUSTOMER'S VEHICLE. To make matters worse, I wasn't informed until after I complained that there was a $150 diagnostic fee and a $75 per-night storage fee. That information should have been disclosed upfront. Because of this I then decided I wanted to take my car elsewhere to get a diagnosis. They refused to release my keys until I paid the fees for the car in the lot for less than 24 hours after failing to provide the service that was promised. *So, as many others, I called the police and filed a police report. This apparently happens all of the time at this business. Between the lack of communication, undisclosed fees, POOR customer service, and the DISGUSTING and I mean DISGUSTING condition of the shop itself, I will never return and advise you do the same. Unfortunately, I was not able to get pictures because the company locked all the doors to the office/shop immediately after they realized a police report was being filed and closed early. To start this, I know how terrible it is in the DMV to find somewhere to take your car in for repairs and how terribly car insurance agencies are. However I urge you to under no circumstances to use them for repair services. I heard from some people on the insurance side that they aren't really a repair shop/it might be subcontracted work. I have no idea, but I will say it definitely feels like it might be. I am inclined to also be suspicious that this is the case because of how much of a mess it was from the beginning to the very very chaotic end and every time I called it was one guy. Sometimes they answer on the repair line, sometimes on the towing line, but 9/10 times I only talked to one guy every single time. I know a lot of repair shops have long wait times, but really the length of time is not even what drove me over the edge, it really was the amount of stress and frustration working with them caused me. Constantly said they were waiting for parts, they got the wrong parts, the parts weren't there...then they say they take Progressive, come to find out Progressive has had so many issues with them they will only give them checks, they had 100 ways you couldn't pay them because for whatever reason they don't trust you to pay card and the insurance doesn't trust them to pay them....To get all this worked out genuinely took months and I had already moved out of the city by the time they finally admitted it was done (which took my 2-3 calls a week for 3 months). Any up-charge you get for going somewhere else is worth it because agreeing to have your car repaired here is essentially agreeing to taking on a part time job with this place. Whether or not they are a scam...I don't know. But they do a lot of things that scammers do. read more

This is for the Body Shop - not Towing: First, they are NOT Tesla approved. They lied about that. When you pick up your car, you MUST pay CASH! They will not take a check or even a cashiers check. Only after they were paid and I got the car home, did I realize they had not seen the damage to the windshield washer unit - So that wasn't identified or fixed. Upon closer review, they did not get the hood aligned properly, either. It is a MESS. Now I am having to re-open my insurance claim - what a hassle. They are disorganized - it took two MONTHS for them to communicate with my insurance and get the work done. If this is worth anything - I wish I'd known this about them before I engaged them for the work. Highly recommend you do NOT use them. read more

Incredibly subpar service, would not use again. Rude and not client minded. Late and over priced.

An hour late, went to the wrong address, then arrived with my truck on the flat bed, and the passenger side tire straps weren't even on the tires. The driver side straps were so loose, that my truck was bucking into the flat bed's front bully bar, causing damage to the front bumper. The driver became extremely combative and got in my face about his poor operation skills, and I noticed the smell of alcohol. After wanting to relay pictures and videos to management about how their employees carry themselves, they began hanging up on me. Terrible company to deal with. read more

Paid $250 to get my husband's motorcycle towed for a 5 minutes away destination. Shawn is clearly not experienced on handling a month NEW motorcycle. He DROPPED it when trying to get it on the truck. I watched him pick up off the ground. Scratches everywhere, even broke a piece at the bottom (see picture) He refuses to pay for it, we emailed the company and haven't heard back. Ridiculous. We will be taking this to court. Do not send someone who can't even handle a motorcycle. read more

Their service is unprofessional, credit card machine doesn't work, you get no receipt. They don't do a full diagnostic, you turn your car in for one problem, it comes out with even more problems. Don't argue with them because they have terrible customer service. Yelling at customers. I believe that they sabotaged my vehicle. read more

Highly incompetent and irresponsible. Called for tow off Woodrow Wilson Bridge, after a tire blew out and let me in an unsafe section of shoulder where clearances made changing the tire unsafe. Was told a tow truck driver would be to me in approximately 45 minutes and the cost would be $150. After waiting on the shoulder for an hour after getting off the phone with their dispatch, received a call back from them requesting prepayment and an additional 30 minute ETA. After having 5 close calls of almost being struck by other motorists, I told them I would call someone else who could provide appropriate service. Called Superior Towing after getting off the phone with the incompetent dispatchers at Ace, and Superior immediately dispatched a tow truck driver to get me off the Woodrow Wilson Bridge for safety and arrived in under 20 minutes. Please avoid Ace at all cost and call a professional tow company like Superior, for both quality and your safety. read more

TERRIBLE BUSINESS. HIGHLY DO NOT RECOMMEND. Family business since 2020 but manager doesn't know the owner. After the tow, the insurance company, the appraiser and I tried to call constantly with no one answering the phone after many attempts. The appraiser made 3 attempts to see our car ( which was totaled in an accident). Ace told us the appraiser showed up, then left without Ace seeing the car. Ace explained that the appraiser gets paid every time they come out. Ace had our car 3 1/2 weeks charging $175 storage fee per day. They made over $4000 by delaying action in the appraisal process. We have gone over a month and are unable to move forward with replacing our car while awaiting a final decision through our insurance company. The managers gave me the run around when trying to release the vehicle. They were reluctant in giving me their name, gave us contradictory information and were very difficult. I will say, they were "apologetic" about the delay and were not rude but while I stood in their office for an hour, every customer that came in was upset with their business practices. read more

I would give negative stars if I could for this owner- Sean at Ace Towing Alexandria, VA. He towed a vehicle I had bought that wouldn't start after two days of having it. Long story short, when his family-owned car dealership in Fredricksburg, VA (Car Central) took 2.5-3 weeks to get back to me about helping me with financing another vehicle- actually they didn't back to me, I had to call them to find out they couldn't help me. I called Stafford Hyandai in Springfield that same day and under 24 hours they got me vehicle, financing, test drive, and a happy customer. I would highly recommend Stafford Hyandai!!!! Back to Sean at Ace Towing- I went there today because he went back on his agreement to buy the other vehicle from me for scrap- and I couldn't find it on location today at all. He claimed he put it out on the street. I reported to the police that my vehicle had been stolen- which is what has happened because he moved my property to an unknown location without informing me. What he probably did was already scrapped it or sold it or is hiding it. DO NOT deal with Sean or his establishment. I don't know how they "supposedly run a business" with such dishonesty. This company ACE Towing deserves ZERO star for their deceitful & unprofessional conduct. I got stuck on 495 around 9 am . I googled for a towing company. Unfortunately since their name starts with an "A" they came up first ! Called them and they gave me a quote of $250.00 for a 15 mile tow. I accepted and 2 hours later a driver showed up! The minute he saw my car, He said "you need extra care for your car" immediately, I asked him what do you mean?? Are you going to charge me more to tow my car?? He turned around and said "we will see!" . I asked him again and Again he changed the subject and said I know what I'm doing! He loaded the car on his flat bed. Once I sat next to him , I noticed His truck smells like weed! His speech was slow. The whole time that he had my car on his flat bed, one hand was on steering wheel and the other hand was holding his cell phone pulling up pictures of the cars that he had towed. after 15 minutes of drive , we got to my destination. He turned around and said your bill is $325.00 I objected and told him "didn't I asked you the price at the beginning of the trip??" he kept saying because your car is a BMW M2 needs extra care and I had to put the wood under your tires to load your car!! needless to say, after few minutes , I called his boss, told him the situation, He also said the same thing as the driver. I kept saying "Why you did not tell me at the beginning of the picking up the car?? The owner got on the phone with the driver, and the driver said OH he did let me at the start of the trip. He demanded $325 cash or he wanted to take my car! If I could give them a zero stars I would. I called this company so they can tow my car and first , they sounded very unprofessional. Two, the guy they sent to tow my car took TWO HOURS to arrive and lied about where he was and that we was on the way which is very unprofessional. We had to get my car towed to a shop which was less than 20 mins away from the pick up location and charged me $225!!!! The person I called never told me the price from the beginning which he was supposed to and never did and I brought it up to him that he didn't mention the price and he said " oh well " ... what do you mean oh well ?!?! Why are you charging me over $200 for a pick up and drop off less than 10 mins away then on top of that took 2 hours to get to me. I highly don't recommend. Also the driver that was picking up my car was very rude and had a little attitude whenever I would call him and ask where he was at.
