Our water bill showed an 11,000 gallon charge for the month. Right away I knew we had a leak in the line as it has always been around 4000 gallons. I called Yavapai Plumbing and Heating (now Ace). John came out asap and told us we needed a new main line to house and also to contact for blue stake services. I did that and had them out within an hour. The next morning John and Daniel brought in the Bobcat and got a new trench dug for new main line. The service was completed in 2 days, but water leak was remedied on day one. John and Daniel went above and beyond in cleaning up the site so you would not even see that there had been a trench and rocks moved. Excellent job and a lot of care taken of property. Knowledgeable and dependable. I have been with Yavapai Plumbing and Heating for about 40 years and have been happy with them. Thank you John and Daniel! John also advised me that I could apply for an adjustment on the water bill with the town and I did. They approved it and credited the account for the water lost in the leak. 1 Star - Misleading, Overpriced, and Threatened Us With a Lien We had one of the worst service experiences we've ever had with a home contractor, and homeowners should be aware of how this company operates. We called Ace Plumbing to inspect an ejector pump. On the initial call, we were told that the $1,000 diagnostic fee would include pulling the pump, cleaning it, attempting to run it, reinstalling it, and determining whether it could be salvaged. We were also told that if the pump needed replacement, the $1,000 would be applied toward a quoted replacement cost of about $2,500. Based on that understanding, we agreed to the service and signed off on the estimate. Once the technicians arrived, everything changed. They pulled the pump but did not clean it, did not test it properly, and never reinstalled it. Instead, they immediately shifted into a hard-sell pitch and claimed this was a "specialty pump" and now the replacement would cost over $9,000 -- more than triple the original estimate they told us over the phone. They also told us that we "could not" install any other brand of pump without replacing the entire basin, which turned out to be completely false. We brought out another licensed plumbing company who confirmed the basin was fine and is replacing the pump for less than half the price Ace quoted, with no need for a new basin. When we explained that the $1,000 diagnostic was not performed as promised, Ace refused to negotiate. We offered to pay $500 for the time they were onsite -- more than fair given how little they actually did -- and they responded by threatening to file a lien on our property. And they did. We were shocked by how misleading, aggressive, and unprofessional this experience was. They changed pricing mid-process, contradicted what was promised on the original call, didn't perform the diagnostic they charged for, and then escalated straight to a lien instead of attempting any reasonable resolution. Homeowners deserve honesty, transparency, and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not our experience with Ace Plumbing or their management. We strongly recommend getting multiple quotes and verifying every claim they make before agreeing to anything. read more

I'm very disappointed with Ace Home Services. My AC unit is six years old and was installed by Yavapai Heating now ACE. Last year a tech came out during the annual service visit and thought my unit was slightly low on freon and wanted to charge me $600 to do a leak test. I told him no and to bring it back to factory specifications. Will check it again next year. This year (July 2026) a different technician came out and thought the TXV valve was bad and quoted $2205 to replace. Of course, I got a second opinion, and the unit was repaired for $125. Turns out the system was overcharged with freon, probably from the 2025 service visit. I had a similar over-pricing issue with ACE regarding replacing a water heater. They quoted over $3000 for a job that I have done by a licensed plumber for much less. Since ACE took over Yavapai Plumbing and other companies in the area, service has dropped off and prices have skyrocketed. There are other reliable independent service groups that aren't paying all the corporate overhead. read more

Dennis came out and repaired our valve and the tub spout in our master bathroom. He installed a new one a year ago but due to the workmanship when the Mobile was built, the quality of the wood in the wall broke apart, and the valve and tub spout became unstable. I called today ACE Home services in Prescott because I own a rental triplex and needed somebody to come and look at the AC unit on the roof which is not working properly, compressor is freezing. I used them before, I had their name and 928 phone in my cell, but that number was not working. So I found their website, new number and called them. I am not a native USA speaker, I have accent and I am quite old. The guy who answered did not treat me well. He was not able to understand than I am a landlord, own multiple properties and was not able to locate my old records. This was the first red flag. My educated guess is that they were bought by a bigger company and quality of service wend downhill since then. When he told me that he will charge me nonrefundable fee of $160 just to look at the AC and gas heater unit on the roof the property, I told him that it will not work for me. Then they texted me from their 844 901 4514 number that my appointment is scheduled. So I called them back, told them that I am paying my taxes in Arizona, which is one party state (google it up if you do not know what it means). It got their attention. I set up an appt. to inspect my AC system, which is not cooling properly. I told them at the time of the appt. it is an older system (uses R22 refrigerant). I waited for the tech, and when he arrived I explained the issue. He said R22 was "illegal" to use, and that it is expensive. Well, it's either illegal or it's expensive, not both. The tech then launched into a salespitch to sell me a new AC system. Our mtg. ended almost before it got started. IMO the tech was a new system salesman in a tech suit. DO NOT RECOMMEND. Note: It is actually quite legal to use R22, but it is more expensive and harder to get than the newer refrigerants. Look it up. read more

First the good news. The technician showed up withing the two hour window promised. He was knowledgeable and diagnosed the problem quickly. He had the required parts (the gas valve for our furnace). He installed the part and the furnace works again. The bad news was the total charge to do this job was $829.50. I think this is way more than should have been charged. The technician did not give me any warning about how expensive this was going to be, he just wrote up his bill showing that he changed $110 for the call/diagnosis and rest was parts. I know that a gas valve does not cost $700. So would I YPH again? No. read more

A year ago Yavapai Plumbing and Heating came out and re-connected my main water line from my street service to my house (between my inside valve and the main). I was please with their work. Then one year later I saw a healthy leak right at the inside valve they had connected their pex piping to. After digging it up they determined that they had connected the new "pex" piping to four inches of the old rubber connection and then into the existing valve. That four inch piece of old rubber pipe had split between their pex connection and the valve... They agreed that they should have replaced the inside valve (and connected it properly with the pex) when the first job was done, and after speaking with their other plumber, decided not to charge for this repair. I thought it might be helpful for you to have a review of my recent (beginning on October 24) Yavapai Plumbing Service. Initial service was requested due to very slight leak in two bath faucets and low output on hot water side of third bath faucet (possible problems with faucet stems and/or hot water recirc). Technician and helper arrived to diagnose but were unable to come to a conclusion as to reason and said that valve stems needed to be replaced but they weren't sure as to the brand and they would seek consult on hot water recirc problem (suspected one-way valve issue). Although they never got back to me, I was able with help from Hughes to id the valve stems, ordered them at only 12.50 each. I then called Yavapai back to arrange for installation and follow-up on hot water recirc problem. Technicians arrived on-time Nov 7. After water shut-off and draining the hot water tank (needed reminder to turn off hot water heater while draining), they replaced a noted angle stop that I indicated as problematic (actually replaced both without acknowledgement at a ridiculous cost of $72 each not including labor) on downstairs sink. The same angle stops typically cost about $10. They then replaced the one-way valve on the recirc system. They did not bother to check pressure on the hot water expansion tank. It should be noted that prior to replacing the one-way valve I was twice encouraged to replace the entire system with a tankless AI monitored system (no doubt at extraordinary expense$$$$) even though my water heater was working just fine. Next was the replacement of the sink faucet stems. They tried one (using only slip-joint pliers) and said it was too difficult to remove. They suggested that I return the stems purchased to Hughes completely and purchase new complete sink fixtures (we have 3.5 baths with sink, tub and shower fixtures all matching$$$$.) I encouraged them to try the others and they came off easily with my assistance and tools). One valve was difficult to remove so I suggested using their vise. They said they did not have one so I showed them mine. They tried removal - again with slip-joint pliers - to no avail and again suggested replacing all sink fixtures. After they left, I used the proper wrench and my vise and they valve stem came loose easily. At that point they provided they said they'd email the bill. The original problems noted above were solved only at the two upstairs faucets where I asked them to change out the stems (with my help). Not only was the low hot water pressure at the downstairs sink not remedied, but pressure was decreased on several upstairs sinks as well. Back to the hot water expansion tank not checked. After their visit, I checked the expansion tank to make sure the pressure was matched to the house water pressure (50psi). Not only was there no air pressure in the tank, but water came from the pressure valve - obvious tank failure. I purchased a duplicate tank ($40), reset the pressure to match house pressure and installed in 10 minutes. This resolved some but not all of the uneven hot water pressure issues. Over-all - STRONG salesmanship, but workmanship, not so much. Way over-priced parts provided, little effort to solve initial problems. These people will try to scam you. Yesterday our heating went out and I give these guys a call based on the fact they installed our system (with the previous owner). Guy arrived and was friendly but openly admitted he was green and "The new guy". So I was put off almost from the start. He ran some tests and said it was likely our Thermostat acting up. Then said it would be $300.00 for a new thermostat. After looking on the internet I noticed they actually run around 100.00 bucks. He installed it but then said this model wouldn't work for me. He put the old one back in and tried a factory reset. The system came on and he left. Only to have it blink out about 15 min after he left. I called the office and explained what had happen and the manager got super shitty with me when I asked why a $100.00 thermostat would cost me $300. Her reply was because it is guaranteed. Sorry bitch that isn't an answer. I explained that the guy had replaced my stat but screwed it up and I wanted to replace it myself but thought Mongo could have wired it wrong before he left. As it now was not working correctly She called me a lyer and said he only reset it. He didn't wire anything. Bitch I was standing next to him when he did it. I am not some little blue haired lady you can f with. Later that afternoon the tech called me back to find out what happen. I asked about the thermostat and he said I now needed the $620.00 thermostat because of a special sensors on my unite. Mother tucker was upselling me and playing like this was my only option now. He came back and worked on it for 2 more hours to make sure it was a bad thermostat. I refused the $620.00 thermostat and opted to go get my own and put it in my self. I found the correct one on Amazon for $123.00. My system still doesn't work and he managed to kill my emergency heat which was working when this started. In short this company is running a thermostat scam on people. BUYER BEWARE!!! I basically paid $105.00 for this rookie to come out and totally screw up my heating system. read more

Buyer beware, this business charges not by the hour but by the project. So if it's a small project that takes less than an hour they still charge an outrageous price. It took two guys less than one hour to remove an old hot water tank and drain it. This cost me $360. And they didn't even take the old tank away. Then a received a quote to have a new hot water tank installed. They came in a approximately $900 more than another company's price ....WOW! I suggest going with another plumbing company for your needs, or pay up and give Yavapai Plumbing all of your money. read more

I purchased a kitchen sink faucet and had it installed by Yavapai Plumbing today 12/31/2019. The installation was fine, but the cost was outrageous. One hour installation, plus a angle stop valve ($8.00 part) and the total cost was $246.50. The $8.00 part I was charged $64.00. The service fee ($60.00) was also added on top of the labor cost of $135.00 which usually is not added to the labor charge by most legitimate businesses. We own a 4 unit apartment building in Prescott Valley. One unit HVAC system was replaced by Yavapai Plumbing and Heating 4 years ago. Nothing has been done to it since. However, two weeks ago the condensate line clogged and overflowed due to poor installation. The line did not have the proper slope to drain correctly. The safety device to prevent damage is a metal pan beneath the unit. The installer cut the sidewall of the pan so he could run the PVC condensate line through it. Well, the pan didn't hold the water because he cut a hole in it. The ceiling in the apartment caved in because of the water. We called another company to do the HVAC repair( for $1155) and now are repairing the damage and have paid $300+ to put the tenant up at a hotel for 2 days. The a--holes at Yavapai claim to have no responsibility in the matter. Good luck to anyone stupid enough to hire these scammers to do any work of any sort on their homes or buildings. Besides very poor quality work their price was far more than it should have been. I will be taking them to court for the damages and repair work. read more

I have been using Yavapai for the past 8 years and have a maintenance agreement with them which I purchased for a 2 year period. Called to have an annual service inspection on my a/c and the serviceman came out and was probably here for no more than 20 minutes. I showed him where everything was he went to work, sort of, and came to tell me my unit needed a new capacitor, fan motor was leaking oil and another item, can't remember what it was, all needed replacement to the tune of about $1300 for parts. Not sure about labor and taxes. The person never connect any gauges to the unit to measure what they were reading, never turned on the unit nor looked at the blower which is part of the furnace. I asked what would happen if I did not replace and he said it was possible that the unit would continue to run if the one part, I can't remember the name for it, malfunctioned. I would then have to go the fuse box for the unit and turn it off. This is an 18 year old Rudd unit and I have had no issues in the past and only run for like 2 months out of the year for at most 8 hours per day. I thanked him for the "service call" and told him I would just run it until it died. His work invoice he gave me did not mention any of the above items that need repair/service. He didn't charge me anything, might have been $60, but then again he didn't do anything. I talked to another company and had them come out to inspect my unit and to verify if anything mentioned by Yavapai was accurate. This person spent well over an hour at my house connected all sorts go gauges to the unit to measure performance, turned the unit on and then took the time to show me what the gauges read and that they were all within tolerances. Fan motor was not leaking and he even checked the refrigerant levels. When he was inspecting the blower unit he noticed that the wiring was wrong for the thermostat and fixed that for me so that my a/c did not run when I had only the fan turned on. Interesting that Yavapai had never mentioned this to me in the previous years. Well Yavapai has lost a customer even though I still have time left on my maintenance agreement. By the way Chino Heating and Cooling was outstanding and now is my service provider in the future. read more

We have had service from YPH on numerous occasions and so we contacted them to estimate the cost of tapping our propane line to hook up a standby generator. It took quite a while to get someone to come and look at the job. When we finally got an estimate was shockingly high at $1400. When we asked for a breakdown of the materials and time included in the estimate and we were told they don't give that kind of information. We contacted another plumber who did the job beautifully and charged $450. I would warn anyone considering having YPH do a job to get a second estimate. I felt YPH did not care whether they got our business or not. We will not be using them for any future work. read more

Beware! Had yavapai come out to look at our heating/air unit that stopped working right after we moved into our house. They were prompt and polite and got the heat working again. They then told us we needed a new unit. It was several thousand dollars. It was winter, it was cold so we signed the contract and had a new unit a couple days later. They sold us an electrostatic filter which was supposed to cut down the dust and allergens (which instead turned out to restrict the air flow.) Everything worked fine except the flow into the master bedroom. A few months later I called them out to check for blockages. A tech came out and told us we needed all new ducts to the tune of $7k We passed. We used them again when we had our bathroom remodeled to rough in and install the plumbing fixtures we purchased separately. The first tech was not familiar with The brand we purchased and had some problems. We called for another tech and he also had problems figuring it out but got it connected. One day I am in the shower and the top of the pipe disconnected from the wall. We had someone else come to fix it and he discovered that the Yavapai tech had only put two anchors in to hold the pipe when there were 4 that SHOULD have been used. I called Yavapai and requested a refund of labor for the installation and was told no that I should have called them back to fix it. Why would I do that when they didn't know what they were doing in the first place? I finally managed to get a portion back. I hate leaving bad reviews but am disappointed at the ineptitude and, in my opinion, dishonesty. I do not recommend this company. read more

Very disappointed unfortunately. Tried charging me for repairs that were done without my consent. We asked for an estimate on a house we were LOOKING TO BUY. We don't own the house yet and asked for an estimate only to give us due diligence to use to negotiate with the seller on. They did not not check all of the bathrooms the first day and went out again a 2nd day, trying to charge 2 service call fees ($80 each day). Then on top of that, they tried charging $160 on the 2nd visit to REPLACE THE FLAPPERS in all of the bathrooms WITHOUT CALLING ME FIRST. I would not have authorized fixing flappers because I don't even own the house yet plus I could do that myself. After calling to question the charges, the woman on the phone was condescending and resistant to answering questions. She also said the reason he didn't check the last toilet was because the door was closed. (THIS IS AN EMPTY VACANT HOUSE!!!!) When she would answer, the answers kept changing. She finally agreed to only charge me for the one service fee and said she would note it in their files to NEVER SERVICE anything for me ever again so don't call them. Feeling is mutual. 2 stars because the flappers do function. read more

While removing a PVC to copper irrigation system the PVC broke off leaving PVC threads inside the copper fitting. We couldn't remove it. It was 4:30pm on Monday. Our water was off and we couldn't turn it back on without capping the copper pipe. We called these guys and Tony took the call. He was at our house in 20 minutes and replaced the copper fitting. We got our water back on by 6:15. Great attitude. Great service. Great all around. Thanks so much for your good work. read more

I was doing a bathroom remodel and needed a toilet removed and a new shower valve installed. I was charged $625 for one hour of labor! $175 to remove a toilet and $450 to install a shower valve! I almost fell on the floor. The plumbers wanted an additional $275 to reinstall the toilet, shower head and control. I told them at those prices I couldn't afford to have them back. My handyman installed everything for $42.50. I will never use a plumber again unless absolutely necessary. I truly feel I was taken advantage of. I am a repeat customer with Yavapai Plumbing & Heating. I had one of their techs come out for a washer/dryer problem and to put faucet handles on sink in laundry room. I had to purchase the faucet from another company. The charge was outrageous and I complained about it. They agreed and a credit was given. That was the second or third time I had used them. The next time I needed my heating thermostat replaced. They came out, did the job - no problems. I called them to get a price on a reverse osmosis system under my kitchen sink. Not only would they not give me one over the phone, but they wanted to charge me $49 to send someone out to give me the estimate. I have lived up here for 3 years and they are the only plumbing & heating service I have used. That is about to change. read more

I ordered a new tankless heater while he was there, to make sure I was ordering a comparable unit. Never got a quote for installation at that point. Called back when the unit arrived and was told that it would be $1,200 to install the new unit!!! That was more than the price of the unit! I put out a "need recommendations post" on social media and got 3 different quotes FROM LICENSED PLUMBERS for less than $350! When questioned why their quote was so high, I was rudely told that YP charges by the JOB, regardless of how easy it may be.
