A few weeks ago, I couldn't find the name of Connolly electric…read morebecause I'm older now, and a certain company came up, and all I wanted was to have insulation installed on my outer AC pipes to the outside of my house. I couldn't find the proper insulation, so I hired ****** to do the job. He did a great job, however, he comes in the house to inspect my unit, and notices that there was a rust stain at the bottom of my HVAC system. He proceeds to tell me that it may not have much life left, and he also noticed rust on the fan outside. Obviously, water wasn't draining correctly, however, my system worked perfectly, giving me great heat and great air conditioning. He said that I needed a new unit, and that prices were going up practically every day. I told him that I would wait until it broke, but he was insistent. Even my wife told him that we couldn't afford it. I'm really hard to sell, as I was a top salesman in my company. Somehow, he finagled his way out of my wallet. He quoted me $14,000, and I went for it for some stupid reason. The following week, they come to my house to install the unit which is almost twice as large as the one I had. I told him I didn't think I needed such a large unit, and from what I remember, he told me I did because it was very hot here. Anyway, three guys came to install it, and first of all, I don't know whether it's their fault on or not, but a downdraft unit came instead of an updraft one. The guys had to wait many hours for another one to be sent. Eventually, it came, however, the unit was so large that the tray that holds the filter underneath wouldn't fit, as the guy forgot to measure correctly. They actually installed it without a filter underneath so we'd have air conditioning. Fortunately, the filter fit in my intake in my house so we wouldn't get dust through the unit. When the machine turned off, the vents banged as there was too much pressure for my little house. Also, they did not change to a higher amp fuse, which should have been 60 amp instead of 30. They put in a 5-ton unit, and I had a 2-1/2 ton unit prior. I told Connolly that our bedroom in the front of the house faces the Sun, and it was hard to cool and heat only that room, so they put a 3-ton unit in. Here's the deal, instead of paying $14,000, I paid $8,200, almost HALF the price from Connolly. My builder will only use these guys, and since my guy is honest, I will agree. Damn, I should have called him first! Oh, by the way, my house is only 7-1/2 years old and 1,500 s.f. large. I would have reported the other guys to the Arizona Contractor office, but they gave me my 7,000.00 deposit back. Just be careful who you deal with, and thanks, Steve, for a wonderful and clean install, as well as Trevor and Todd, who I assume are either owners or managers.

BUYER BEWARE!!! I have used Best By Farr in the past, the last time being several years ago. I had…read morebeen satisfied with their work and their prices were reasonable. I had an issue last month with a thermostat in a rental condo unity that I own in Sedona. The new tenant was having issues with the thermostat that was only a few years old. I called and requested to have a tech from Best By Farr to go out and access the problem as I thought the tenant may not be familiar with that type of programable thermostat. I requested to be called by the tech if there was an issue with the thermostat and it needed to be replaced. I never received a call. I received a bill via email from Best By Farr a short time later. The bill was for a total of $458.50, $135.00 for the service call and $323.50 for the thermostat. This is a very basic non Wi-Fi "Honeywell T6 Pro" programable thermostat that sells on Amazon and other website for less than $80.00. I would believe that a heating and a/c company gets for considerably less. I called the office to complain about the price of the thermostat and for not having been called by the tech prior to replacing the thermostat. The lady in the office told me she would have the tech call me. The tech advised me that he was not told to contact me prior to installing a new thermostat and had no control over pricing. The tech came and removed the thermostat, and I ended paying $135.00 for the service call. I am not sure if this company has had a recent change of ownership. I also realize the company needs to make some profit on the items they install. The price they charged for the thermostat is 405% above the cost a consumer can purchase the exact same thermostat for. That is totally unfair to the consumer. I will also be contacting the Better Business Bureau regarding this matter. I do not expect a response from the company because there is nothing they could possibly say to justify that type of price gouging! Avoid doing business with Best By Farr. I will never use this company again. Consumers should read current and up to date reviews on any potential companies they want to use. Save yourself a lot of heartache and agony!

John showed up to my house and was punctual and clean. He was very helpful and explained what he was doing as he went along. But above all, the most honest guy I've met. He could of told me anything and I never would have known the difference. He told me everything checked out good and went above and beyond by wrapping the a/c wiring in new foam, and cut and replaced all of my filters. He only charged me for the service call and no additional. In the end, John offered to assist me on his own time with a problem I was having with my spa. Goodman brand and NOT LENNOX, whose products have gone south in quality and longevity, is our replacement. It has a good warranty. Really have to say this couple really worry about their customers! Our dog is very ill and heat makes him worse so they gave us a large, powerful window A/C to use for a couple of days while we waited for the new unit to arrive. He wanted our pup comfortable! Who does that ??? No one, except...Prescott A/C and Heating does and stands by their work. If I could leave my number here I would so you could call me and ask how it went, but Yelp won't allow it. Trust me, they won't leave you high and dry and hot if you use their thoughtful, professional services. You'll never have to worry about them not standing by their work.
