We will NOT suggest this company to anyone..! They missed diagnosed our A/c system and cost us several thousands of dollars in extra cost due to their lack of knowledge on a system they sold us. The only thing you will get is a bunch of empty promises and zero follow up. Oh they will follow up with you if they can make any money from you, but when it comes time to cover any kind of warranty work, you will get zero response from them and zero sense of any kind of urgency. We expect a negative response back but this company but they can't say they took care of the customer as they left us high and dry with no help from them at all..! Even though the rest of the country is freezing cold in Arizona get chilled when we have temperatures under 60. I was having issues with my furnace and had a friend suggest I contact Cooler Tymes. I had a conversation with Mike the owner who was able to stop by the next morning. After some diagnostic work he realized the issue which was a blockage in my condensation piping. Within thirty minutes or so he had removed the trap flushed the assembly and re-assembled the unit. Sure was nice to hear the furnace run last night. One of my outdoor AC condensers was not cooling the downstairs portion of the house. Had an HVAC company come and diagnose the situation and they told me that there's a leak and to determine where it was coming from they'd have to do a leak test with dye and cost would be close to $1000 and proceeded to tell me cost could increase to around $3000/4000 to repair the leak. I asked what a new unit would be....$9000 or more. I'm the type of person that gets other quotes to compare and had other HVAC companies lined up to come and give me quotes. Mike with COOLER TYMES said he could be at my house after he was done with another job. He came by at the time he said, accessed the outdoor unit and told me there was a leak on the cooper tubing and said he could repair the leak or, replace the entire outside unit. After discussing all options, I decided to have the unit (2005) replaced. Mike came back the next morning (6am) with a sweet looking Lenox and had that bad boy installed in time for the family to wake up to a cool house! Last night our AC started blowing warm air, and it was 90 degrees in the house by the time we went to bed. Our warranty company initially assigned a contractor that didn't have availability until NEXT WEEK. We have a baby and younger kids so this was pretty urgent. Ten years ago Mike sold me a Trane air conditioner to replace my builders grade unit. This week the coil sprung a leak. He found and patched the problem to get the house cold again. After reading all the great Yelp reviews we decided to sign up for a 3 year service contract. Good price and it's nice to have the peace of mind that the system is covered if anything goes wrong. We had a leak coming from out ceiling in the office and was told that we needed to have our AC repaired. I requested a quote through yelp and one of the companies came in and quoted me 11k to replace the unit saying our AC was too told to get spare parts. Luckily I had Mike already scheduled to come in to also do an estimate. Not only did he immediately tell me it was not our AC unit but a leak in the roofing, he went back to ensure this was the case. We had been shopping for A/C units since we moved in and wanted it done before the beautiful weather of summer hits us. From 23 to 13 thousand for two units. Every estimator was told the same thing, the units where install 2001, 2200 hundred square feet,and one room was cold during the winter where the others were heated. that the estimator should tell us what we needed. Out of the eight two of the estimators were the owners. only two got a ladder and went to the attic to look at the job. I can go outside myself and look at the a/c units. Only two estimator went into the attic to look at the furnaces. Only two the owners /worker came out to speak to us. The sales pitch was so great that this I will do for you. Only one explained everything to detail. Cooler Tymes was referred to me by a new neighbor for I am thankful that is why I am referring Mike Greco of Cooler Times. He told me he would be there he was, Whenever I called Cooler Tymes Mike would answer. I in a way forgot to meet with him to go over the estimate if I had any concerns. He called to to set up the second meet I did not return his calls. A few days later I called him that to wait till I call him back in about a week. Never asked or pried or pushed , in seven days. I called him to make another appointment to meet. Well we sign the contract gave him a deposit and Schedule a install date. Installation day, seven people including Mike at schedule time arrives. I contacted Cooler Tymes based off of their Yelp reviews. We had one of our A/C units stop cooling yesterday. I had my wife contact this company today. The technician, Mike, came out and my wife said he was very polite and professional. After checking everything out he told my wife the TEV or (TX Valve) was clogged and needed to be replaced. He quoted us a repair (with parts) at $595.00. My wife told him she would talk to me. After she called me I said that seemed high and I wanted to discuss with Mike. I called Mike and asked him what the price was based on. He went into his industry jargon. I think they do this to make our heads spin. I really do not need to know the psi of the Nitrogen he will be using, but he certainly let me know. I told him I would talk to my wife and get back to him. Then Mike offered me a deal. Straight up $500 to fix the unit. Had to be cash though. I told him I would get back to him. I was working and talked to my wife about 30 minutes later and she said she spoke to Mike again. Now he was offering to fix everything for $400. So...$595, to $500 and then $400.... Hmmm...sounded sketchy. It was. We called another company and they came out. Not only was the TEV (TX Valve) not needing to be replaced, but he said that was a scam that some companies use. He checked the clog and cleared it. Did a full system check. Price? $50. With tip it was $100. Very disappointed in what Mike from Cooler Tymes tried to pull on us. I am all for a company making money for services rendered; however, when the drop the price $200 in 1 hour it seems shady. If you use these guys, I highly recommend you do your research. read more

The AC unit for my upstairs started blowing hot air one evening. I called Cooler Tymes the next morning and Mike was able to come out later that day to take a look at it. I had him test both units while he was there. He explained everything he was doing while he worked and he was very friendly. The unit that was blowing hot ended up needing over 6lbs of freon and the other unit needed 2lbs. I could see dollar signs spinning in my head as he was filling them up but the entire cost ended up being very reasonably priced and I was quite happy with the service. I called their number at 6:50 am on a Saturday, just hoping we could have someone come out later in the day. The owner, Mike, answered the phone and troubleshooted the problem with me over the phone. He narrowed the problem down without even seeing my AC unit. The owner arrived at my house within an hour of my initial phone call. He quickly diagnosed the problem, and I only had to pay $155 to get the problem fixed and move on with my weekend. I could not be happier with the service. Also, the owner is a very nice person, and is obviously honest and interested in delivering good service to his customers. We have two air conditioning units and one went out (running, no cooling) about a month ago. I called a different company, based on a referral from a friend. Although they came out within the hour, they charged me an arm and a leg "flat rate pricing" he called it for the air conditioner capacitor to be replaced. Fast forward a week later, and my second unit goes out (running, no cooling). After my previous experience, I sought a new place and Yelp pointed me to Cooler Tymes. My husband called around 7pm on a Friday night and Mike said he would be out in the morning around 7am, which was perfect for us (two units = we didn't have an emergency). He texted before arrival, showed up, heard my sob story about the previous unit, and went straight to work. A short time later, he said it was the capacitor and went out to his truck to get a replacement. He was done in a jiffy and charged me a FAR MORE REASONABLE price (one I was expecting from the previous company, actually). Can't express enough appreciation. After a long period of wheezing and sputtering, my second floor air perished, and tried to take my kids with it. We had another contractor out a year ago and he seemed to fix everything BUT the weak flow on the second floor. We attributed it to the sun, to bad construction, to a poor configuration of ducts. Our house was 5 years old when we moved into it and now it is 11. So we learned to live with it. Today we found out a part had been degrading gradually. Let me start by saying this is my first review on Yelp. I have used Yelp's reviews in the past but haven't decided to post my own review, until now... My family was recently faced with an Arizonian's worst nightmare, no A/C in the summer! And with 2 young children and a wife sitting at 38 weeks pregnant, the reality was worse than the nightmare! After a long, and mostly sleepless, night, I faced yet another potentially scary event; hiring a contractor... Let me give you the story chronologically, at least in temperature! 90 degrees: After reading several positive reviews on Yelp, I called Cooler Tymes Heating and Air Conditioning. Mike called me back within 10 minutes of leaving a desperate message for relief from the 90+ degree temps in my house, on a Sunday before 8am no less! (Because, of course, the A/C couldn't go out during "normal" business hours!) 93 degrees: After dealing with a home warranty company (that shall remain nameless) which found it acceptable for my family to potentially bake for 24 hours until they hired their own contractor and, therefore, not knowing if I would be able to hire Mike, he was still very helpful by giving me some quick over the phone diagnosis as well as alerting me to what to watch for with other contractors that may be out to make a big profit, considering my circumstances. 95 degrees: Once it was certain that the home warranty's selected contractor would indeed not be able to come out the same day (after repeated efforts to contact them as, apparently, they weren't going to contact me to say they couldn't make it the same day) Mike came to the rescue upon his white horse, er, van! Literally, within 10 minutes of calling him the second time, he was at my home. And, it wasn't because he wasn't busy, he came from a job and was going to another when he left us. 80 degrees: As I sit writing this review it is a comfy 80 degrees. I couldn't be more complimentary of the courtesy, professionalism, and knowledge Mike demonstrated throughout our conversations and his repair. I would not hesitate for a moment to recommend Mike to others with A/C needs. A heck of a nice guy and, maybe more importantly, knows his trade inside and out!
