The house we bought has an older HVAC system. A few weeks ago, we decided to have Advantage come for a service call to see what we were dealing with. It's a busy time of year, but they put us on the schedule for a few days later. To be honest, we were expecting to hear a sales pitch for a new system. We were very pleased when Eric cleaned our system and showed us that the only issue was that the run capacitor on the compressor was struggling. Eric replaced it and added a "hard start kit" to reduce strain and power consumption during startup. Overall, he was prompt, friendly, knowledgeable, and explained everything he was doing. Had Loren out to give an estimate for our complete HVAC replacement job. Though I did go with an alternative supplier, I wanted to provide a review and some feedback here. Advantage was in the running till the end. I feel Prescott is well served by this company. I was given a competitive quote and an assurance that these people know how to do a complete and thorough job. I can't say that for most of the bids I received. My specific needs didn't make this one the best fit, but it would have been a good one. If you want to find somebody who will be fair in price but high on service, you can't go wrong here. read more

Good guy came to our home, we felt confident he would do the right thing. Although he couldn't fix the unit because he could not get parts from LITTON he could sell us a new one. Well nope not going happen. We didn't have an extra $15-$18000 to replace our nearly new A/C! Had another company do the repair but he was still a decent guy to work with. He did tell us that there was foam missing from an area removed by the guys who installed our solar. My wife and I had a new home built by RES Contracting/Matt Bohaman. We have never had a custom home built for us, and we were excited. With the year of supply and labor shortages and price increases, 2021 was anything but a good year to build a home. Advantage Home Performance in Prescott was chosen as the sub contractor for the insulation and HVAC system. There were several bumps in the road during construction, but Advantage Home Performance was timely in the overall schedule of the build. In other words, they didn't hold up construction. Tim Callahan was apologetic for the price increases during the "Covid" year, but my wife and I understood. I watched as the foam insulation was blown, and there was no skimping on the material used as Matt's supervisor noted. The ductwork was all insulated as well. I have been impressed this winter at how warm our large 3 car garage stays during the long cold nights, a testament to the insulation installed. The living areas temperatures are also very even, with the furnace not running much at all (and very quietly, as we have to almost "strain" our ears to hear it!). Maurice installed the HVAC systems and was very knowledgeable. He was polite and answered all my questions and even offered information I found useful and interesting. You could tell that Maurice enjoyed his work and took pride in what he was doing. I noticed one of the air exchange grills wasn't "square" and brought it to Maurice's attention. He took care of it with a smile, not considering it to be "picky" on my part. We had a fan in one of the bathrooms that didn't work that Maurice replaced in a timely fashion. He also set the other bathroom fans to a higher speed at our request. After moving into our new home, I was working on completing all the warranty information, which is a LOT for a new build. I was having problems with the warranties on the Lenox website for the furnace and air conditioning. I contacted Advantage Home Performance through Matt. I was called that day by Tim Callahan. I described my difficulty in registering the warranties. Within two days, I got an email with our completed warranties and a follow-up call from Tim. That is real service after the sale. Advantage Home Performance was a big help in making our dream come true. They seem to realize that people and their lives are involved when building a home and that it is important to take that into consideration. We moved into our home November 9. Amazing experience with these guys! We thought our old A/C unit was done for and I was getting ready for the price of a new system. I asked our neighbor for the guys who did their a/c unit since our house is a mirror image of theirs and he referred me to Kevin at Advantage Home Performance. I ended up having Fred come out and do the work, everyone was great to work with and I never even had a chance to meet everyone as I was out of town so I had them meet with my family. Fred was able to call my dad directly to schedule when he can meet at my property. What was truly amazing was it only needed a repair of $300, much better than the what I was getting ready to put on my credit card. I know exactly who to call next time an issue comes up or that day finally comes where we have to replace it and finding a quick fix vs replacing it earns them the 5 stars here from me. read more

Saturday morning, I noticed that the air conditioner wasn't working properly. I found that the compressor (I think that is what it's called-the unit that is outside and appears to be a radiator type box with a fan) that the fan wasn't turning. We called Advantage Home Performance and explained our problem to the office/answering service. A technician called back within ten minutes, and said that he was twenty to thirty minutes away. About thirty minutes after we called, a technician named Maurice arrived. Maurice went to the outside unit (maybe the condenser, I could be wrong), diagnosed the problem was a bad capacitor, replaced the capacitor, and had the air conditioner working again in about an hour after we initially called. Matt was very professional as well as courteous when giving me an estimate on my insulation project. He also pointed out other ways to save as well as advising which changes would be the most cost efficient. The workers that actually did my project were very conscientious and went above what was required on the contract by installing some baffles that were missing at the air vents in front of the house. This was a good solid business experience from start to finish. Maurice came out to the house and actually FIXED the problem with my wall heater. The technicians that work for this company are not on commission and they are not there to sell you everything under the sun. I would highly recommend this company to anyone. There are a lot of companies in Prescott that want to replace everything in sight. Be careful who you let in your house. I can not stress enough how important it is to be dealing with a company that is willing and capable of making repairs on heating and air conditioning equipment. Five stars go to Kevin from Advantage, who took the time and trouble to find out if the blower motor that we needed for our newish HVAC system was still under warranty. He saved us several hundred dollars! We recently moved into our new home (only a few years old) and the first time we tried to turn on the heat it didn't work. Called another HVAC company to come out and was quoted around $1000 to get it fixed. I asked about the possibility of the system being under warranty and was told that it was unlikely. Thankfully, I decided to call Advantage to compare prices on the expensive replacement part. I spoke to Kevin who said he'd be happy to call the manufacturer to see if the motor was covered under warranty. Yes it was! I recently signed up with APS to do a home energy audit and Advantage Home Performance were assigned to my home. In a nutshell .... awesome service. Polite. Did everything that they said they would do. Any mess (inevitable when sealing a/c ducts and pumping in more insulation) was cleaned. It was also a reasonable price given the time they spent at my house and the amount of insulation they pumped in. I even had them move the attic access from my master closet to the garage which they did for the price of materials only. A small hiccup with my kitchen pot-lights over-heating was quickly resolved at no extra cost. Cannot say enough good things about this company. read more
