John showed up to my house and was punctual and clean. He was very helpful and explained what he was doing as he went along. But above all, the most honest guy I've met. He could of told me anything and I never would have known the difference. He told me everything checked out good and went above and beyond by wrapping the a/c wiring in new foam, and cut and replaced all of my filters. He only charged me for the service call and no additional. In the end, John offered to assist me on his own time with a problem I was having with my spa. Brenda and Leo have been great to work with. We did have a hiccup on the unit and they came back, took it out and replaced it! Apparently Leo had never had that happen in nearly 40 years of doing this work. Many hours later we have an A/C that works. Goodman brand and NOT LENNOX, whose products have gone south in quality and longevity, is our replacement. It has a good warranty. Really have to say this couple really worry about their customers! Our dog is very ill and heat makes him worse so they gave us a large, powerful window A/C to use for a couple of days while we waited for the new unit to arrive. He wanted our pup comfortable! Who does that ??? No one, except...Prescott A/C and Heating does and stands by their work. If I could leave my number here I would so you could call me and ask how it went, but Yelp won't allow it. Trust me, they won't leave you high and dry and hot if you use their thoughtful, professional services. You'll never have to worry about them not standing by their work. He asked me to lower the thermostat so that when it reset it would kick on. I had to go to my phone app and remove the restrictions as my thermostat was locked at 78° and that was the internal temperature of my house. At this point my thermostat was working just fine..Once the HVAC reset, it kicked on and Wade said it takes a few minutes for the fan to reboot or start. After a few minutes it still didnt come on so Wade checked a few things out, and at this point he removed my thermostat cover because he thought maybe loose wire? I don't know, then after a minute he put it back on. Then I guess he diagnosed that the coil to my outside fan went out which caused my fuse to blow. Cool, he knew the issues. Then he told me everything wrong and the cost, perfect, please fix! Then He got the unit up and running but only blowing hot air, so he came back to the thermostat and removed the cover again. He was like" oh this is the problem, your pins are broken off. He put the thermostat back on and now no power to the thermostat. He told me that this thermostat pins were broken and I told him this was the very first time anyone has worked on the unit since it was installed and it was working just fine when he rebooted the system. I told him he must have broken them off when he removed the cover and his only response was "I'm not eating it"... this was going to be a 5* review, but this just went south really fast! I kept my mouth shut once he said " I'm not eating it". After a few minutes he offered me a used thermostat from his shop and offered to install for an addition $139 service call and I stopped him in mid sentence and let him know I already ordered a new one. ( I can install it myself) The thermostat was working fine, then it wasn't? he knows he broke it, just like I know he broke it. He didn't get anything over on me. He just damaged his reputation as this same statement will go to yelp. I'm so very disappointed that a service technician who has great yelp reviews would tarnish his reputation and that of his business. There are PLENTY of HVAC repair technicians around Prescott and Prescott valley, please choose wisely... I did not He got his $356, and I spent an additional $150 to replace the thermostat. Yes he got my money, but I have a voice and people who read this review will see it's recent and that Wade lacks integrity.. My home is 5 years old, my thermostat is 5 years old.. that is not old...period There wasn't anything wrong with my thermostat as it came on JUST FINE during the system reboot. No loose wires, NOTHING WRONG. The whole point of calling a service technician was to get my system up and running.. is it? No! Wade had to turn off the circuit breakers to the HVAC system because now that the thermostat is broken, it will continuously blow hot air. Read his response below. In his own words he broke it removing the cover.. if there were loose wires, the thermostat would not have functioned and it functioned fine for 5 years. He also stated he can't be liable anytime ... he drives a work truck and if he causes damage to someone or something, is he going to say he can't be liable for it because he's on a service call? Response from the owner 20 hours ago I'm sorry but this is a complete misrepresentation of what happened. I'm sorry that during the diagnostic the existing thermostat that is not installed or serviced by me, the plastic broke on the back of the thermostat when I had to remove it and there were loose wires behind it. I can't be liable anytime. I touch a unit if things that are brittle break. If that were the case I would never be able to fix anything. And yes I did offer you a new thermostat and you've made it sound like everything was fine and we were in good standing. I responded promptly charged you fairly. I'm sorry that the coincidence of it breaking happened during this diagnostic, but the way you're painting this picture of me is also completely outrageous. And making me look like I'm a bad guy which is borderline defamation. I would be glad to discuss this with you. Our AC stopped working about a week ago. My husband called ACE, as they were the first business…read morethat popped up in a Google search and it has been between 90°-100°. The tech came a few days later, did a (clearly not thorough) inspection of the unit. He ended up telling us that our compressor was bad, the unit (that we bought brand new and had professionally installed 4 years ago) was "too old and obsolete," and that it was going to cost us an estimated $6,700 to change out our outside coil unit and compressor. Since we don't have a spare $6,700, we contacted another business (Environment Concepts, Inc. Heating and Air Conditioning) for a second opinion. Billy came out the next day and completely fixed the problem (NOT the compressor, not anything the guy from ACE lied to us about) for $300. ACE wanted to rip us off for literally THOUSANDS of dollars that we don't have. They offered no other options or solutions, and had we not found the company that actually helped us, we would be completely without AC for who knows how long in the AZ summer heat. When my husband received a message from ACE to OFFER FINANCING on a completely unnecessary service, he told them what happened and how unacceptable their business practices are. The only response was to tell him that they could still offer services in the future. Absolutely unbelievable! Bottom line, if I could give ACE zero stars, I would. They are unethical and clearly out to steal whatever they can from unsuspecting victims. For as many elderly people on fixed incomes and young families just starting out as there are around here, it is disgusting to know that this company would rather let people overheat than to be honest and fo the correct work for a workable amount. I will NEVER recommend ACE, and will be telling everyone I know how badly they tried to rip us off. 1 Star - Misleading, Overpriced, and Threatened Us With a Lien…read more We had one of the worst service experiences we've ever had with a home contractor, and homeowners should be aware of how this company operates. We called Ace Plumbing to inspect an ejector pump. On the initial call, we were told that the $1,000 diagnostic fee would include pulling the pump, cleaning it, attempting to run it, reinstalling it, and determining whether it could be salvaged. We were also told that if the pump needed replacement, the $1,000 would be applied toward a quoted replacement cost of about $2,500. Based on that understanding, we agreed to the service and signed off on the estimate. Once the technicians arrived, everything changed. They pulled the pump but did not clean it, did not test it properly, and never reinstalled it. Instead, they immediately shifted into a hard-sell pitch and claimed this was a "specialty pump" and now the replacement would cost over $9,000 -- more than triple the original estimate they told us over the phone. They also told us that we "could not" install any other brand of pump without replacing the entire basin, which turned out to be completely false. We brought out another licensed plumbing company who confirmed the basin was fine and is replacing the pump for less than half the price Ace quoted, with no need for a new basin. When we explained that the $1,000 diagnostic was not performed as promised, Ace refused to negotiate. We offered to pay $500 for the time they were onsite -- more than fair given how little they actually did -- and they responded by threatening to file a lien on our property. And they did. We were shocked by how misleading, aggressive, and unprofessional this experience was. They changed pricing mid-process, contradicted what was promised on the original call, didn't perform the diagnostic they charged for, and then escalated straight to a lien instead of attempting any reasonable resolution. Homeowners deserve honesty, transparency, and professionalism. Unfortunately, that was not our experience with Ace Plumbing or their management. We strongly recommend getting multiple quotes and verifying every claim they make before agreeing to anything.
