Lost my mom a few days ago. I've been at my dads ever since trying to help him get settled. Sure enough the day before our family is supposed to arrive for services, we have no water. After explaining the situation to Dan he was out here right away. He spent about an hour diagnosing what was wrong with our water problem. Since our house runs on a well he referred us to contact a well pump business. He could have easily charged us for his time, but kindly declined and gave us his business card for any plumbing (non-well) issues in the future. Very responsive. Of three other plumbing companies we called to fix a leaking pipe under the kitchen sink, one never called back, the second scheduled an appointment two weeks out, and the third called back the third day. Dan called back later the same day, scheduled early the next morning to fix the leaking pipe. We did asked him after fixing the pipe to also replace the disposal unit which he scheduled the following day. He couldn't do it because his schedule was full that day. He did a great job, was very prompt in returning our call and fitting us in his schedule, and his price was very reasonable. Friday afternoon we found a water leak near the shut off valve at the street. Since it was on our side of the valve it was our responsibility to fix it. We didn't want to go without water over the weekend so we started making calls but none of the plumbers we called answered the phone and their mail boxes were full. Dan picked up the phone and lucky for us he was close by. Dan gave us a quick estimate and gave us priority since we were without water. Dan came the next morning and was on time. He also called us prior to showing up. He worked quickly but he also worked with high standards. I can't say enough how helpful and professional Dan was. I asked him about installing a gas line to convert an electric stone to a had stove. He was knowledgeable on the process and more than willing to work with me in my schedule. Its comforting to hear the person at the city permits department was familiar with his work and had no complaints about him. Then the install happened and the gas company comes out and compliments his craftsmanship and acknowledges the install was done correctly. Then to top things off stove delivery date changes and fan says "I know how excited you are about the stove and I'll come out on a Sunday after Lowes drops of your stove top install it". If I could give 10 stars I would. Since buying our place in Prescott we've had our mainline cleared 4 times (in 10 months). Late one Saturday night we were once again backed up. I cannot comment on the quality of his work, only the lack of common courtesy shown to a potential customer. I made an appointment, a week ahead of time, in order to receive an estimate to replace our water heater. Dan promised to call me the evening prior to the appointment, to confirm. He never called, so the next morning, I left him a message to determine if he was still planning on coming by. I never heard from him again. Contacted Dan based on reviews here. My mileage varied drastically. Dan arrived 2 hours late, made no apologies. Took 3 calls during my walkthrough. Was told I would have bid in 1-2 days. I called 5 days later and left v/m on status. No return call. Called again after the weekend and again no return call. Peoples time is valuable and customers shouldn't be asked to wait an unacceptable amount of time past a bid commitment window. If you don't want to do a job then be a professional and exhibit courtesy in telling the customer that. I hate writing negative reviews but this example here has been a more common experience with some of the trades people lately. I needed to get my anti-freeze in my solar hot water system replaced, but was having trouble finding a plumbing co. that did that type of work. I finally found a company in Camp Verde who quoted me $488 to do the job In addition, they wanted $75 for the "Service" call. Had a problem with getting water up the hill to our house. Called Dan (who had come highly recommended) but he was busy on a job. I called another plumber who came out and spent two days trying to figure out the problem and finally gave up saying I probably needed a bigger pump. Called Dan back in desperation and he was able to come by. He figured out the problem (not the size of the pump) in a couple hours and had it fixed quickly. In preparing to sell our home,Dan D plumbing came out to check drain to street drain of City of Prescott .The youn man with camera ( I think his name is Rick),shows serious blockage on our part of drain going into city drain.We were given $10,000,price to fix it.A lady purchasing the house asked what would happen if nothing was done.Dan said its not how long before it will happen but when.T could could happen anytime.You can see how serious it appears.It could BACK UP anytime.We had 1 licensed plumbers do a check with video cameras.1st inspector said I dont see a problem,there is a little bump toward the end,but no serious problem. #2 licensed plumber inspected there is a small amount of standing water no problem.Nothing serious,for $125. dollars I could clean out.I feel FRAUD and AND UNETHICAL work has been performed here What a scam.I would SUGGEST Google these guys ,check them out. read more

I needed some urgent plumbing work to repair a stubborn Delta cartridge in two tub/showers or a rental unit. After trying to replace the cartridge myself, it quickly became evident that the years of neglect from the prior owners resulted in the calcification of the cartridge and my inability to remove and replace it. My wife and I were only in town for another day and it was time to call a plumber. I called Dan D Plumbing and Dan answered the phone! He explained he was busy but would see if he can come by towards the end of the day. Dan is a man of his word and sure enough, he showed up around 5:30p and explained he had seen this problem many times before. He wasn't sure if he could get this unit out and explained the potential options. We let Dan do his magic and in under and hour, he had freed the stubborn calcified Delta cartridge so we can replace it. Dan was truly our hero! Dan cleaned both Delta housings and gave us some advice on preventing it from happening again in the future. In the end, he had a very reasonable fee which we gladly paid. We will definitely call Dan again for future plumbing needs. He's the real deal. And contrary to another reviewer, I am not a paid reviewer.
