The guy who ran the fishing and tackle department was so knowledgeable and even pointed us to the sale isle in that we were looking for something for the kids. The place was clean and organized - complete with an old fashioned popcorn maker and that darn gumball machine that my kids go crazy for. The nice young man at the counter and my husband exchanged about their military experiences and thank you's and we were on our way. BUT - that's not all! There was a great little market in the adjacent lot on Friday afternoon where we picked up some fresh veggies, bread and meat for dinner. While the store looks small from the outside, its inventory of products is surprisingly robust, allowing me to avoid the aggravation of shopping at the Madison Home Depot. While their prices are slightly higher, I save time and gas money by shopping locally. What I like most about the Waunakee Ace is the friendly and knowledgeable staff. I never have to search for an associate or wait helplessly at the help desk. Whether I need a certain type of wall hangers, the best paint option to touch up the bathroom wall or the right type of putty to repair a traditional plaster wall, the staff here patiently advises me on the pros and cons of each option. They make my trips to the hardware store soooo much faster and easier than any visit to a big box store. Other things I like: * Finding a good parking spot is always a breeze. * The Ace Rewards card offers rebates in the form of coupons based on how much you spend there. Even with my sporadic purchase history, I've received at least $50 of free stuff over the past couple of years.

Staff was helpful but we kind of knew what we wanted as we had already looked online. Delivery was quick and easy. I will say that based off of our experience, my parents got furniture from here. The delivery person accidentally slashed the side with their box cutter (we think) when delivering it. They called and had a replacement within a week. My only personal wish is that you could opt to pick up the furniture yourself instead of paying the delivery fee but that's not the end of the world.
