Took my vehicle here for a rear wheel assembly replacement several months ago. They were much cheaper than the price the dealership quoted for the repair and were recommended by a friend. However, I developed a new problem immediately after having work done at their shop. I took it to another mechanic who found the rear axle was bent. The diagnosis was that either Ace bent the axle during the wheel assembly replacement or missed an obvious problem that would have caused a serious problem long term if the new mechanic had not found it. There was no cost savings here. I spent all the "savings" getting the rear axle repaired. read more

We were pleased that Ace serviced our old car on a Saturday, when many mechanics were closed. They finished with it that day, which was very good, since we wanted the car for a long trip the next day. They quoted the price on replacement of parts that we could see to be worn in a photo they sent us, and postponed an expensive additional repair to see if the first ones fixed the problem. Today I had a check engine light come on. So I took it to ace autocare. I knew the reason why the light came on , it's because of a throttle response controller that ace installed. I just didnt know how to make the check engine alarm go away. Ace was trying to tell me it was because I needed a new knock sensor. Which was going to cost 960 with 6 hours of labor. So all day I was driving past the shop to see if my car was actually in the shop or just parked. It stayed in the same spot all day long it never went into the shop. I even called right before I busted them. He said it would be 1.5 hours until ready he said I'll call when it's ready. So I decided to show up early. And called them out. He was trying to say the Mechanic just pulled my car out of the shop. I said I've been driving by all day it never went inside the shop. I said are u still trying to charge me 960 dollars. He was like no we are waiting on the parts to come from ft worth. Mind you he just told me 15 min ago it would be ready in 1.5 hours lol... He knew I busted him, so he didn't charge me anything for the supposed 4 hours of labor. It's messed that companies try to screw over people and take their hard earned money over work that never got done or needed to be done in the first place. Beware of these scam artists. I'm sure the majority of the repairs they do aren't needed, or are not done at all. Shady ass company, karma always comes back to bite you in the ass. They'll rip you off and tell you that need repairs that you don't need and not even really do the repairs correctly or at all. I recently bought this car and luckily the seller I bought it from fixes cars for a hobby and was willing to look at it to see what had actually been touched. He showed the parts that would need to be removed in order to do the repairs needed and the screws looked like they hadn't even been touched. Going hunting for a week and the Thursday I left it was pouring down rain. Windshield wipers stopped and I had to go to the closest repair shop and that was a huge mistake. He said they can fix but will be 2 hrs labor at 120/hr. I didn't have a choice so had to pay even though was only 1 hr to fix. Worst part is when I got to my destination and began unloading I noticed that 1 of my deer rifles was missing as someone stole it at their shop. Called business owner and QST was told he has cameras and would talk to guys. They called backend said well I have limited camera's and basically git the run around and he changed his story multiple times. Totally stay away or the same thing could happen to you! One tire was going flat because air was escaping from a leaky valve stem. It was September 7 (the day after the Labor Day weekend) and auto /tire repair shops were swamped. The first three or places I checked had wait times of at least two. The guy at Firestone on Forest Lane suggested I try Ace Auto Care about a block away. Ace Auto Care were also very busy but in less than 10 minutes they had replaced the tire valve and sent me on my way. When I asked what I owed, they would not take any money and so I wrote this review instead. Needless to say, I was very grateful. Made my day. I will be back. read more

HOLY SHIT THEY'RE HONEST!!! I never thought I would find an honest car place! This is the 5th place I've tried in Dallas. The first 4 were typical liars. I know cars. I actually lived in an auto shop at one point. Please deconstruct that sentence now: lived. in. an. auto. shop. Notice the words "lived" and "in" I didn't "work at" or "live near" or "know a guy" No - I actually lived in a goddamn auto shop. I have eaten candy bars with motor oil on them because I was too damn busy to get a real lunch or wash my filthy hands. These are my guys for anything that I can't do (because I no longer have an auto shop). Oil changes. Inspections. Transmission fluid/filter changes. They're honest. If they don't know how to fix something they'll tell you. Only downside is the waiting room is real awkward. And by awkward I mean ghetto. In one seating I saw a pit bull, a woman with a shower cap, and 2 different bra-less women. read more

I just had a problem diagnosed elsewhere (not realizing Ace is now open on weekends I went to NTB thinking I just needed brake fluid). NTB quoted me $795 for a rear brake job. I brought it to Ace for a second opinion, and while they confirmed that the NTB was right about the rear brakes, they also found that the front brakes need replacing too. HOWEVER Ace's quote for the whole brake system repair was only 2/3 of what NTB was going to charge me just for the rear brakes. This is just a quote, but more FYI more than once they have quoted an estimate and then charged significantly less because they were able to find a better price on parts. I guess it's been almost 20 years that these guys have been our main go-to shop. Current ride is a 2010 Honda crv that's seen some stuff with my less-than-perfect driving, & they've kept me rolling into 2023 so far, with one kid learning to drive with it, and another about to start. Most recently had an intermittent issue where they spent time they probably couldn't easily spare to thoroughly test & check it out when I asked them to take their time. I feel confident that nothing was rushed, & appreciate that practically the whole team put eyes on it to try & solve the issue. I know for a fact they've saved us some serious money over the years too. Bashir, Ben, & newer acquaintance Alex really care about their work & reputation. I feel safer on the roads due to their work, and will send my daughter & son to them with their cars too in the future. I don't trust the people giving low reviews on here. I think they're just the difficult types who are unreasonable when they don't get what they want, and aim to hurt a business. I had a cracked rim that was leaking air so I ordered a new one online because the big retailers wanted three times what the online sellers did. So once the rim arrived I called around to NTB, Discount Tire, and Firestone. NTB and Discount wanted $50 to switch the tire to the new rim and Firestone wouldn't even do it since I didn't buy the tire there. These guys charged me $30 and had me in and out in no time and I was a walk in not to mention. Great price, very knowledgeable and professional and amazing service. Definitely recommend. read more

These guys are amazing and affordable. In my opinion the best mechanics in town. I've been going to them (Bashir) for over 10 years and they do an incredible job with every automobile I've taken in. I recently wanted an alignment but they checked the suspension, which I didn't even know needed to be checked, and didn't ask. They could've screwed me over time and time again but they provide excellent service, and are in and out quickly. Most of the time before they say they'd finish. I came in for a car alignment and was given an estimate for several other things which was fine BUT after getting a second opinion I didn't need any of those things at all. THIS PLACE IS THE BEES KNEESS!! I'm new to Dallas (as of 8 months) and needed to find a new mechanic quick because I let my oil run out for quite sometime. I'm pretty good at that. I hate going to mechanics because unfortunately as a chick I feel like I get taken advantage of at most places. This place was fabulous, I rolled up parked, told the first attendant I came across that I needed an oil change he asked for my keys and started working on my car immediately. I waited not even 30 minutes and my car was done! No questions, no extra issues, and it was only $25!!!!!! Your eyes do not deceive you that's a 2 and a 5. Went to this auto shop with the hope of getting my first State Inspection done after buying the car from a private seller. Final Verdict- Absolutely great guys....told me half hour for service on phone and they did it for me in half hour and charged me just 30$ for the State Inspection with the offer. Very honest car shop. I've worked in car shops before and have worked on cars my whole life so I usually try to do all of my own work and stay away from shops, but I was pleasantly surprised with Ace. My GF needed her AC compressor and belt replaced and I didn't have the time to fix it for her so we took it to Ace since it's within walking distance. It took them a while to get to her car to diagnose it because they were so busy, which is understandable. The mechanic called me and let me know all of the options and didn't treat me like an idiot. He was very straight forward and honest. Since he was already removing the belt for the compressor install he installed a new one with no labor charge and I received free freon also. As a former shade tree mechanic that has done everything from rebuilding engines to restoring old hot rods, I think it means something that this is my go-to place. I know when I'm being provided poor work and being recommended things I don't need. These guys just do it right, give you a few options when appropriate, and after that it's up to you. I have brought Infinitis, Chevys, Mazdas, and Audis in, if they can't do it they will tell you. But, that has happened only one time, with my Audi A5. Highly recommend them. read more

When it comes to auto service, the only thing you need is honesty. If they screw something up and they are honest there is no problem. And with honesty comes decent pricing. Usually crowds come too, and this place is busy. It is by no means the cleanest shop I have ever seen, but no matter it is functional. The building needs a complete makeover, but that won't help your car run better or the bill be lower. I'd recommend this shop for any vehicle smaller than a 26' box truck, only because there is not enough room for anything bigger! 5 Stars for honesty in the Owner. Will use Ace again! read more
