Negative Stars, if possible I've had the same problem everyone else had. Decent eye exam, waiting months for glasses with rude staff giving the runaround. Probably 10 different phone calls and no less than six trips out there to get my glasses - and I spotted them the frames! I was just trying to covert and old and beloved pair of sunglasses to prescription lenses. Almost everyone I know has had the same experience as in all these reviews. It's a shame because it really used to be a nice place. Maybe if they paid their bills they wouldn't be having these supply chain issues? I've been going to Accurate Optical for years. The facility is clean and attractive. The team is top notch; they have perfected their appointment flow and customer service through the years. Huge selection of glasses and plenty of different contact lens types to suit your needs. Plenty of individualized care. They do not offer LASIK there, but they coordinate with TLC in Annapolis. I received all my follow-up examinations for my LASIK surgery with Dr. Miller at Accurate Optical, including the 24 hour post-op recheck. (Incidentally, if you can afford LASIK, do it! I have better than 20/20 vision now!) If you can swing the $30 to get their special retinal photography done, you can avoid getting your eyes dilated and cut your appointment time down considerably. The optometrists can see more of your retina with the special imaging than via the traditional pupil dilation, anyway. I highly recommend Accurate Optical! read more

This is the worst optical place ever!!! Not only are the frames outrageously priced, they charged my insurance over $800 for an eye exam and glasses. I asked for my pupillary distance measurement and they wanted me to come back and charge me $35 for the measurement. It should be in the chart!!! First time visit for my 11 year old and will never go back. Waited over 3 weeks for lenses to come, each time I called told not they are backed up we will call you when they come in. Finally I asked for a manager, spoke to person in the lab and the lenses where there but not in frames yet. No idea how long they sat there, picked them up that night. The guy handed my daughter her glasses in the case said try them on, did not even have her sit down. Asked her if she could see, then said okay you're good. Took my money and that was it. Never checked if the frames fit her face properly, she's 11 and we bought women's frames. They don't even give you a cloth or cleaner for the price I paid, seriously WalMart does more than this!!!!! I visited accurate optical on August 18th for my eye exam and to order new glasses. I've used this facility for 14 years and prior to this never had an issue. it is now October 2nd and i called to ask about my glasses. I was told in no uncertain terms that if I didn't like the wait come and get my money back and my prescription. I couldn't believe my ears. It has been 43 days and they can't tell me where my glasses are, when they'll get here? I'm holding my old glasses together with gorilla glue and bubble gum. Now I have to go in and retrieve my prescription and my down payment? Who is in charge of this and when did they go down the crapper? -4 stars. DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE for your eye glasses. They will tell you in 2-3 weeks, but it will take lot longer, maybe even months.... They are also as rude as they could be. I didn't have to wait long. Dr. Miller was extremely knowledgeable, helpful, courteous and explained things nobody else has. Other optometrists have told me cataracts were developing but never told me it would take 20 years for them to be a matter of concern. I LOVE his exam. I was told the exam would be $150, but at checkout, I only was asked to write a check for $51 (still not cashed after a month!). Staff was extremely courteous as well as the technicians who did tests before Dr. Miller arrived in the exam room. Frame selection isn't much, but everything else was a 10! read more

So i went today on my lunch break and sure enough, they did it at no charge and i was only in there for like 2 mins. Had an appointment with my doctor, Dr. Miller but had to reschedule. Was put with a Dr.Zeidman. no bed side manner, tried to push every test and upgrade possible, and when I asked for Dr. Miller instead I was told I would have to reschedule again. Not a great visit. I wish their was less than 1 star to rate Accurate Optical. Living on the shore you do not have many options for eye care - but going to this facility will be a bad decision for you. The incompetency is astounding! I stopped giving my business to Accurate Optical when I was 17. My mother, unfortunately, was still giving them the benefit of the doubt. Her vision is extremely poor, and the incompetent employees at this "business" not only ordered her the wrong prescription, but ordered them for a person with Astigmatism. When she tried to return them (since they were delivered to her home address), the simple minded woman who manages their contact department said it was not their error, and that she must have ordered from another source - yet, she looked it up and said their were no hits on the prescription from a third party source. So she was sent out with no contacts, apology, or solution. When I called to try to rectify, not only could I not get in touch with a live person, but voicemails were left and I got no callbacks. I am astounded how this facility is still in business based on all the negative reviews - and they do not even reply to the messages on Yelp, Google reviews, or their Facebook page to try and help their image or improve their customer service. If there was a way to leave a half of a star I would! I went in in January and got glasses for the first time at $406. First I had trouble with the lens type and had to replace. Second them back and again they came back wrong. Called the office about 8 times this week and sent to office manager voice mail he has never called back. Went in the office to simply return them I have until the 28th of February and was told it would be taken care of but the person was out to lunch. Its now 3pm no call so I called and the CEO/Manger did not tell is staff to call to do a return over the phone and he has left for the DAY. This was the single worst experience with a business I have ever had. After my exam I ordered a new pair of glasses. After waiting for over three weeks for them to arrive, I called to ask when I was scheduled to get them. Their answer was "We don't know". Then they must have rush ordered the lenses, because when they arrived a week later they were wrong. I asked for a refund, and was told the only person that can give a refund was not in that day. I went back a second time and was told the same thing. Finally I left the glasses there and asked my credit card company to deny the payment to the Accurate Optical. I was given the wrong contacts and when I tried to bring them back I was told that they never gave them to me. When I asked where I could have gotten them I was told that I ordered them online. Went for an appointment scheduled for 9:45 and didn't finish until 11:45. Initial photos of eyes taken but they try to up sell you to a new improved system that my insurance (Blue Cross Blue Shield) doesn't cover. Placed in a room to wait for doctor and sat there for 25 minutes, attendant called my name thinking I was still in the waiting room but forgot she put me in an exam room already. Placed me another exam room where I waited another 10 minutes for Dr. Z to come in. That dude is a robot, mumbles and is hard to understand; has the bedside manner of a rocking chair. This is the absolute worst place to go if you are ordering glasses. I have not been treated this poorly in the 37 years that I have been on this earth. I usually do not write negative reviews, but my experience has been so terrible that I want to save other from having to experience this place. I have been waiting 6 weeks for my glasses order, everytime I call to find out what is going on I get attitude and rude remarks. I have had two different employees say they would call me back and never did. I tried to speak with a manager but have been waiting 2 days and still no callback. The glasses were only supposed to take 3 weeks max, since I keep getting the run around I assumed something was going on. So I called the manufacturer only to find out that they never received an order from this place. I was absolutely thrown back when I heard that, in fact I called back 3 more times just to make sure that was correct (and it was). So I called this place, told them what I found out, was put on hold so the employee could talk to their manager. The employee comes back after almost 10 minutes and says that his manager needs to speak with me, I was like thank god because Ive been trying to speak to a manager for 2 days...he transfers me and I get the guys answering machine. I mean I'm floored by this place. So I called back and told the guy that I'm coming to get all my paperwork and my prescription back and going somewhere else...he tells me I cant cancel my order unless I am there in person and it has to be when a manager is there or else they won't cancel it. I would have to be there before 5. Can you believe this place? I tried to explain that I work and cannot be there before 5 unless I leave work 3 hours early...he could have cared less. All I know if if I have to leave work 3 hours early just to get my paperwork back, I'll be taking them to small claims court for my time missed from work. I think its funny that I cannot get MY PAPERWORK, that I brought in to them, unless a manager is present. Customer service was horrible! I paid over $600 for a pair of glasses. Went back to complain that I could not see clearly. They made a 2nd pair of lenses and still can't see out of them! I have a photo of the lenses and it explains why I can't see. There are hundreds of little "cracks" in between the glass that makes up the lenses. When I went back to them about it, I was told that they would not replace them again because I had already used the 1 replacement that was allowed under their warranty program. This is NOT my fault and I do not feel that I should have to pay to have them fixed. I paid for a quality product and have not received what I paid for!! read more

I had been going to this facility for years and then I paid an extreme amount for my eyeglasses and they were not correct. I had them re-do the lenses and they are still not correct. I am not sure if this is poor lab work or Dr prescription is inaccurate. My disappointment is in the guarantee to make it right. NO SUCH PROMISE. I am stuck with very expensive eyeglasses that I can not use. Accurate Optical got theirs and the insurance co as well and I ended up with nothing. I have recently experienced what has been my single worst experience with a business in my lifetime with Accurate Optical. I went there for an eye exam and new glasses. The exam went well, but that is not the case with purchasing glasses. After choosing frames, I ordered and paid for the glasses. After three weeks and hearing nothing from them that my glasses were ready, I called. I was told they were not ready yet and to call back the next week. I did, it's now a month since my order, and after 17 minutes on hold I was told they were not ready yet. I asked when I could expect to get them...the response was, "I don't know". When I asked what the problem was the response was, "I don't know". A week later, the glasses finally arrived, and when I went to get them the young lady behind the desk simply handed them to me without looking at fit or comfort or adjustments. I could have picked them up from a box on the curb for all the help I received. It would have been quicker. The glasses were very uncomfortable, and I could not wear them for more than a few hours. A week later I went back to Accurate Optical to try to solve the problem. They made some adjustments, but the problem with the glasses persisted. I finally decided to return the glasses for my money back. When I went to the front desk to request a refund, I was told there is only one person that can authorize a refund, and she was not in that day. The lady at the desk told me she would let the one person authorized know of my refund request. I left the glasses with them at the front desk. After a week I heard nothing about the refund, so I called to inquire the refund's status. Again, I was told the only person authorized to discuss refunds was not in and to call back. When I did I was not connected to the only refund person they have but to a gentleman that tried to be helpful. He said he would check on the situation and call, me back. When he did he informed they had no record of a returned pair of glasses, and no glasses could be found. He apologized, but informed me there was nothing further he could do. Now I don't have any new glasses and a $380 charge on my credit card. Accurate Optical isn't a business. It's more like a carnival side shoe. They all should be wearing clown suits. read more

The reception was very friendly both on the phone and in person. The nurse and doctor however, couldn't wait to get me out of there. It is usually good practice to inform patients what you are about to do during an exam. For example, during my eye exam they "shot" air in my eyes(like any standard eye exam does) but didn't tell me that they were about to do that. It was startling to me. I have had it done before but it has been a few years. It just showed me that she could have cared less about my comfort and just needed to get my exam over with. The doctor came in and wouldn't even look at me when he talked or when i asked a question. When i asked a question he seemed annoyed and kinda just brushed me off. I understand that i was an evening appointment and they were probably just tired and done for the day mentally, however, i have worked in customer service for 14 years and one of the golden rules is to never let a customer know that you are tired or sick of being at work. Each customer no matter what time they come in should be treated equally. So over a week had gone by and still no call from accurate about my glasses being ready. I called yesterday and they said that my glasses were ready and that they did call me but my phone was disconnected. hmmmm definitely wasn't. He asked me three times if I was sure it wasn't turned off and if I was sure I was calling from the right phone. overall it was an ok experience and i got what I needed. They could use a lesson in communication with their customers though. read more
