Dr Jason Yonkers is the best. I have an eye disease and he has stopped from progressing. What' a wonderful person.

I had a scheduled ninety-minute appointment with Dr Yonkers and staff to discuss cataract surgery.

Horrible experience. Horrible customer service. We were trying to get my husband glasses. We went…read moreinto the Salisbury office to pick up my new glasses and order his (we had the prescription provided by the ophthalmologist and it was given to the person at the desk. We sat and waited. Four people were at the desk working on the computer and we were ignored. Finally I asked if we needed to make an appointment to come back and I was told "that would probably be a good idea" since they were busy with computer problems. I called them back when I realized I never got our prescription back. I was told to "look in my car" since they gave it back to me. They did not. Returned a week or so later. Since they had lost the prescription, they said they were "calling to get it". We ordered his glasses and were told they would call when they came in. After three weeks passed I called today. I was told the glasses were never ordered since they did not get the prescription from the provider. I asked why they did not call them back or at least call me and I would get it myself! I was told "mistakes happen" in a sarcastic tone. My husband is still without glasses. Unbelievable.

I was told because they tried to call me...they didnt...when I didn't answer they booked someone else. I am in sales and cannot always answer my phone....no email, no text. I left work early to be there...DEFINITELY WILL NOT TRY AGAIN, Good luck to those that do...

I called this office three days before scheduled appt to inform them that I am a trauma survivor…read morewith chronic PTSD, and requesting a one-on-one exam with doctor as having third parties in exam room such as scribes and chaperones makes me extremely uncomfortable. Was told it would be noted in my chart. They also transferred me to doctor's voicemail, where I repeated my request. On appointment day the receptionist got my address mixed up with another patient's, not once but THREE TIMES!!! Said she was having a bad day. The tech who did the preliminary exam was very nice and understanding of my situation was nice enough so I assumed the doctor (who was a new doctor to me since my previous doctor had retired) would be just as understanding. Although she was informed ahead of time of my special request, she did not hesitate to bring a scribe into the room. Said it had to be this way and due to the large volume of patients, could not do the note-taking herself. I said, "So I am just a number on a conveyor belt with hundreds of other patients? And I am paying to be treated like that?" No response, guess the answer was yes but she didn't want to say it. Today I officially fired Azar Eye Institute and cancelled future appointments. I will get future eye care at a facility which treats me as a human being with feelings and consideration of individual circumstances. But if you don't mind receiving care in a cold and impersonal manner, then Azar is definitely the place to go.
