I had an estimate done and it was suggested that I get the Green Treatment. It all looked good on paper. We even called their reference list, which by the way was a little out of date, and got one good response. John Claypool, the owner, was very pleasant. We thought, this is the place to go! We thought since they would be drilling many holes into our house to give this treatment, that we should also insulate at the same time. He said they would do that. Well he never came back with an answer, but didn't fail to provide an estimate for what HEwanted to do. It is almost a month later. If he doesn't respond when he is looking for clients, do you think he will honor your concerns after you hire him? I DON'T THINK SO. Oh, by the way, before leaving me after the estimate (and before the work was done) he asked me to give him a 5 star review on yelp. Here is the e-mail I sent to him informing him why we would not go with his company:
John Claypool,
We have called on two occasions to get an answer to a question regarding the addition of insulation to the termite treatment. Neither time has this called been returned. I have looked at your website regarding the borax treatment thinking it would be the way to go since you and your video say such wonderful things about it, yet in your contract that I just downloaded this is what it says:
"Local treatment is not intended to be an entire structure treatment method. If infestations of wood-destroying pests extend or exist beyond the area(s)of local treatment, they may not be exterminated." Primary method (ie. fumigation or heat method) is recommended in situations where termites appear to be leading into inaccessible areas. Accuracy Plus will not take responsibility for fumigation if owner of property or agent chooses to treat the property with this local treatment method considered substandard and secondary. When local treatment is completed by Accuracy Plus only areas found and treated on initial completion date are covered under the initial warranty period which expires (1 year unless stipulated otherwise in contract or authorization) or escrow closes and new buyer takes ownership current owner will have to pay or incur the cost of fumigation if fumigating is deemed necessary anytime after initial completion date.Accuracy Plus will not be responsible for any termite damage located in inaccessible areas nor any dry rot located in these areas.
Since your have been non-responsive BEFORE we decided to engage your company for termite treatment AND the treatment sold to us verbally is substandard, then I have no option, but to find someone else to treat our house.
Sincerely,
Sylvia R. Recker
P.S. Your company looked good on paper, but there was no follow-up. read more
