Accomplice continues to be an absolute favorite attraction in the NYC area and having not been to a show in over ten years my recent visit did not disappoint. I was paired with a small group of out of town visitors who brought their family to NYC and wanted them to experience the Accomplice. The parents of the family group were repeat guests like myself who like me absolutely enjoyed their experience several years prior and wanted to share it with their family. It's NYC so even when you participate in the live experience it may seem awkward that an actor is making a scene (literally) on the streets of NYC but nobody bats an eye cause weirdness can feel normal on the streets of Manhattan. Accomplice still has the typical tour around the small area of the city where you interact with amazing actors and make your way to the grand finally where you share a simple drink with your group to celebrate your accomplishment. The staff do offer a hotline to get clues if you are stuck but thankfully my group was witty enough to figure out our way through our adventure. Accomplice is also great for corporate team building activities. I've raved about this experience at my office for years and one of my teams decided to book with the show. Not only did my office team have an amazing time but buzz is going around the office about this show that another team was considering booking but business guests thought it would be too cold in November for such an event; such party poopers! LOL! Corporate events include a three course meal and tons of fun! Highly recommend for both tourists and corporate team building events. read more

This was my second Accomplice experience - the first one was with my friend, about 20-years-ago. We lived in NYC then and decided to participate on a lark and had a great time. For this second Accomplice adventure, my friend and I brought our teenage daughters. Plus our detective group included some friendly visitors from Sweden (shout out to Martin and Emily - should you see this). It was just as much fun as I remembered. It's a different mystery this time around, but just as intriguing. The cast were great at improv, using their skills to act out the story to us, while simultaneously, and almost seamlessly, interacting with us. They smashed that third wall right down as they parsed out clues to us. We eventually managed to piece those clues together and ultimately solve the mystery presented. The late afternoon event was spent traipsing through NYC village. It's silly at times and you just have to go with the flow of the fun. I whole-heartedly recommend this experience to all. read more

Accomplice is like an escape room, where instead of a room it's the actual streets of NYC in the gorgeous Greenwich Village, and instead of talking to someone over an intercom, you're acting out the mission together alongside real actors. Apparently it's been around since well before escape rooms became popular. It's a very special type of experience that I'm surprised more people haven't tried to imitate. To provide a different analogy, it's like Sleep No More, except you can actually follow the story, you're part of it, and the actors can speak. read more

Super fun experience. I had friends who were visiting and I wanted to strike a balance between 'Fun New York Experience' and 'Not Too Touristy' and this absolutely hit the spot. The focus slants a little more toward the scavenger hunt/riddle portion with fun actors and stories unfolding at each stop rather than a very intensive or involved story, but it was just the right combination of goofy and engaging for us. The actors were all very endearing and committed to staying in character even when curveballs were thrown their way. Our story was theme Wizard of Oz and spotting all the fun Easter Egg references was great too. The riddles and puzzles were not extremely difficult but still required actual thinking and engaging with the clues. The one thing I will say is, the maximum group size for the story we did (The Village) was 12 but our little group of just 3 had no issues and I worry that more than 5 or 6 could feel bloated instead. If it's a large group that all knows each other, the larger team is probably still fine. Definitely be prepared for a fair amount of walking. Although there were only ever small flights of stairs (ie, 4-5 steps up a stoop or to a landing), I would suggest anyone with mobility issues contact that program before committing to tickets. I was very much looking forward to attending this and got tickets for both me & my husband as a Christmas present for my husband, but my Aunt suddenly passed away and I was no longer able to attend. I asked 2 weeks in advance if I could switch to another date, but they said they cannot accommodate personal issues (I also had tickets to a Broadway show that same day and explained my situation to TodayTix and they refunded my $ right away). It's really sad & disappointing how heartless the owner is. I was not asking for a refund but to switch dates & she wouldn't even let me switch to another date. She offered to put my tickets on sale and I agreed to that but never heard back so I'm pretty much out of the $ that I spent for these tickets. At this point I do not care about the $ and being at my aunt's funeral is more important, but if someone were to ever pass away in the owner's situation, I pray that more people would be more understanding and compassionate towards her. RIP to my Auntie Sophie & hope she is looking down at this company and that her & everyone else sees how heartless they are. read more

My husband and I did Accomplice the Village for my birthday and enjoyed it so much we decided to book The Golden Spork just a few weeks later for a team building event with our staff. It was a hit! Our staff had an incredible time and enjoyed the food from the different restaurants we ventured to. Betsy and the Accomplice team were awesome. This was a very cool and unique experience! I don't live in NYC but a coworker recommended this and impact glad we tried it. The basic premise is that you meet your group at a TBD location and the first character/actor explains what you're supposed to do. Then the group leaves the character and makes their way through the city. Start chatting with your group mates right away because you're going to be spending a lot of time with them for the next few hours! Also please note how the native New Yorkers will cross the streets as they please while the tourists wait for the walk sign. The cast of characters you meet along the way is excellent. If you get completely lost there is a phone number to call, but luckily we only had to do that once. We did a surprising amount of walking during this show! There are snacks and bathroom opportunities as well, which is nice. If you're looking for something unique to do and you like walking, this is the show for you! read more

YOU MUST DO THIS. I don't know how to best review it without giving things away, but I'll do my best. My two friends and I bought tickets to Accomplice New York. Two days before, they called with the location of where to start. It was easy to find, and we met there to begin, and we found out about our mission. It was just us in our group, but others could be with you. (Side note: As much as I enjoy doing things alone, I would suggest buying your ticket for a time session with others--whether you know them or strangers. It might be overwhelming to do this alone.) The experience had us roaming New York. If you don't like to have fun or have a sense of humor, this might not be for you, but if you do, you are going to love this. Plan on walking quite a bit (though not a ridiculous amount), but you'll also get to see so many different spaces in the city. It's really, really cool. Accomplice had me feeling so many types of ways. I doubted myself. I laughed with my friends. I was hyper aware (or was trying to be). I had soooo much fun with my friends, and at the end of the show, I was literally SCREAMING. WOW. Just wow. I'm still thinking about this. It was ridiculously well done. All of the actors are freaking AWESOME. Like, SO good. My main tips would to be wear comfortable shoes, to use the restroom beforehand (you might have opportunities to stop, but... that's optional), and to maybe have a snack beforehand. If you do the "New York" show, you'll have the opportunity to eat and drink some at one point, so dive in while you work there. If you want to explore the city and have fun, this is a perfect opportunity. I can't believe I visited NYC ten times before finding out about this!!!!!!! 11th visit was a charm, apparently, because this is fantastic!!! read more

My girlfriends and I rescued Delilah last Saturday, 5 de mayo. We had a blast! We weren't sure what to expect, but our scavenger hunt led us all over the Village in search of clues to bring us closer to Delilah. The characters were talented and funny! My favorite part of the hunt was sitting down and drinking a frappuccino. I normally don't like coffee, but this was tasty and answered my craving for an ice cream. Be prepared for a lot of walking, in rain or shine. It didn't rain or wasn't terribly hot, but I brought a jacket just in case. My boyfriend and I were in NYC for the weekend. I learned about Accomplice The Show on another site, and I thought it would be a lot of fun. Accomplice: The Village runs year round and has a theme to it that will become apparent as you meet new characters. It's part mystery, part scavenger hunt, part puzzle-solving, all fun. Although you get a map from the first character you meet, there were a couple of guys in our group who live in the neighborhood, and they helped most of the people get around. I've also been to NYC often enough that I have some familiarity with the area. You get a couple of drinks, a cappuccino at a cafe early on (I don't drink coffee, but I was able to get hot tea) and your choice of beer, wine, or champagne at the last stop. One thing: Bring comfortable shoes; you will do quite a bit of walking. But it's a great way to see places you don't normally get to see if you prefer the touristy areas (which I don't). If you have a few hours to kill in NYC, this is a great way to spend your time. read more

What is Accomplice? 1) Tour - I've done both Accomplice shows (New York - which covers downtown Manhattan) and Village (covers Greenwich Village) 2) Game - reminds me of Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego? One clue must be solved in order to get to the next clue. 3) Show - good fun entertain. Not sure who is part of the show and who isn't. Audience: Each show is a group of 10. Get your 9 favorite friends together and join in on the fun. Stragglers can go and join an existing group. The best group should comprise of 1 or 2 local New Yorkers and a few that are out of town. Average age that I saw on both tours were mid-20s to 30s. The show can also be good for work / corporate environments as it is a really good team building exercise. Thoughts: I personally prefer the Downtown Manhattan one. My younger bro prefers the Village one. Tips: 1) Wear very comfortable walking shoes 2) Get tickets on a sunny day (rain or snow wouldn't be as fun to walk around without proper gear) 3) Both times, my friends and I did the last tour of the day - got to meet the cast. read more

If you are planning to do this... just one tip..wear comfortable walking shoes.. everything else.. will find u! :p :p It was a complete surprise for me (my freind planned it ) and all I was told was to wear comfy walking shoes.. and boy.. was I glad of the advice! Did Accomplice the Village and was pretty disappointed. A friend and I bought discounted tickets for a Black Friday sale, but still at $45, I didn't think it was worth it. Other people have been raving about the regular Accomplice, so maybe check that out if you're dying to try this out. Not giving anything away, you literally go to 6 different stops where you talk to an actor for 15 minutes; they give you a bit more story and guide you to the next spot. What I didn't like was that they pretty much tell you where next to go. There's no scavenger aspect and I didn't feel like I was really trying to find Delilah. Frankly, I didn't care for the journey at all. You do get two drinks (wouldn't recommend the Village Accomplice for children as one spot is in a bar). Also, the acting is over the top - they play up a lot of harsh stereotypes and it was just overbearing at times. read more

About six months after our first run of Accomplice we went back for the other, longer, show. Um... Amazing! This time we had: my 75-year-old-mother, a 16-year-old Dutch student (male), a 17-year-old Italian exchange student (male), a 31 yo native New Yorker and a 36 yo native New Yorker. We still haven't shut up. This version is a little longer (and pricier) that the other but worth every penny. We had several other people in our group but that made it even more fun. No one broke character, they were insane - like I was blown away, and and because we were the last group of the day we weren't rushed. Yay! That was so great that the following July I bought tix for my girlfriend for her birthday present as part of a girls' weekend in NYC. We did the shorter one and it was redone and even more awesome than the first time. They enriched it with some new stuff, took out some of the things that hadn't really worked. It was fresh and fun. The rest of our group loved it, too. And today or tomorrow I'll be buying tix for November when my husband and I will be in town with a friend. Doing the longer show to indoctrinate an accomplice virgin and because my husband hasn't done that one yet. There are now new shows... A kid friendly and a ladies show (whatever the heck that is). Best Day Ever! The Accomplice is fun from beginning to end. I don't want to spoil any of the surprises, but if you have time to kill in NYC and enjoy laughter, fun, a bit of day drinking, problem-solving, interacting with random people, and doing a ton of active walking (17,000+ steps according to my phone), this is the thing for you. I loved it SO much. I want to do the one in the Village and the progressive dinner one and the girls group one. Basically, I want to do all of them! We were in NYC for a family weekend, and my mother took my two nieces and my sister-in-law to see a show. I wanted to plan something for my fifteen-year-old nephew, as well as my father and my brother. The Accomplice was the PERFECT way to make everyone happy! One of them was so good we couldn't tell if she was acting and were actually slightly scared of her! I'd say this is a perfect way to spend an afternoon with friends doing something new and exciting. Obtaining a frog from a live-animal market and delivering it in a plastic bag to another location where the animals fate is unknown absolutely sickens me. There's nothing that feels good about adding to the pain and eventual death of an innocent animal. What a way to ruin what could've been an mediocre experience. RESPONSE to Betsy from Accomplice: My original review was posted over a year ago but was subsequently taken down because the "creative" director threatened me and even went as far as trying to get me fired from my job. I'm happy to hear that handling a live frog no longer reflects the current experience and that the show is now, at best, a mediocre experience; but this still speak volumes about the character of the person running the show. read more
