This is a pretty cool place! It's great to have a place where you can store everything you need, so you can save it when you need it later! Sure, you have your house, but why not just do it at a public place? The storage rooms are small, but can fit quite a large amount of material which is great! It's not a super clean place, but it's a storage room, so what do you expect? That being said, one thing I found that to me was a bit dangerous, is you have to make sure where you put your head, because the ceiling above your storage space is extremely hard, and you could get a really big bruise, because of the low ceiling if you hit your head there. Clean, well-maintained storage place with friendly and helpful staff! I used storage here for a short time while my basement was being treated for mold, and my girlfriend used storage for more than a year for both work and household items. Both of us had a great experience with Access Self Storage. The staff are friendly, and will do what they can to help you. You can use their truck for free (except insurance) for move-in, and very cheaply for move-out (about $40 for 4 hours including insurance). The truck was in very good shape - better than any U-Hauls I have rented over the last few years. They have many different sized units at different prices. The prices were comparable per square foot to the other places I checked. Units are clean and well-lit. Security seems to be very good; you have to punch in a code to enter, and if you punch in a code for a different unit than you open, it sets off an alarm (so be careful if you have more than one unit rented!). I have been there late at night when the office was closed and felt safe. The storage units are all indoors and climate controlled, which makes them a little harder to load and unload but is worth it to protect your indoor stuff, I think. Mine were on the first floor, which is actually a little bit under the level of the parking lot. There is a long ramp to get to the storage units. They have lots of carts that you can use to move things around and you can load and unload a truck or your car close to the door, so it was very convenient. I had by-the-hour moving help, and they said it was easier than dealing with an elevator. They were able to sell me boxes for my storage at the same rate as online companies (before shipping) and much cheaper than the local office supply stores, with was a bonus. When I found that out, I bought all my boxes from them. Overall, I had a great experience with Access in North Brunswick. read more

I don't really have much experience with storage facilities, but the time I've been using Access Self Storage thus far has been amazing. My boyfriend and I needed a place to keep our stuff while we downsized and I moved to graduate school, and Access had everything we were looking for. The units come in a wide array of sizes and are all indoor, very clean, and seem super dry. The staff is incredibly knowledgeable and really incredibly helpful. When you lease a unit, you get the opportunity to use their moving truck for FREE! That was a huge plus, and the day we wanted to borrow it because no one else had scheduled it for that day we were allowed to take it 3 hours earlier than our allotted time, yes! Overall, I feel like our stuff in incredibly safe and well looked after while being stored here at Access Self Storage. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend it to anyone else I know looking for a unit in the North Brunswick Area. read more

The worst customer service ever!! I have had a unit there for over 7 years and it has been nothing but grief. 1) After they tell me that the units are Temp Control...I find 3 of my Instrument cases full of Mold. Their response was....although it's Temp Controlled, the units are not mold proof? In the end, they ended up finding a service to clean out all the mold from my unit (obviously an admission of guilt). 2) The Previous Manager (Some woman, I can't recall her name), would close down the Elevators 15mins before closing hours...making me go the long way around to my unit. He response was, the elevators have to close early because it won't be fair for her to close the doors at 6PM? What kind of logic is this? Or....this gets way better. The NEW Manager Rahim, does the exact same thing....except....he closes access to the Elevators THIRTY MINUTES before closing time and the best part is...he says there are signs next to the elevator upstairs and downstairs stating that they shut down operation 30 mins before closing (there are no such signs posted anywhere)!!! If a place has posted hours of operation stating that they close at 6:00PM....that's when the elevators need to be shut off....NOT 5:45PM....NOT 5:30PM, but 6:00PM!!!!!! The worst ever!!! read more

Been a customer for over a year. Had a large unit, but eventually downsized because I didnt need a unit so large. The customer service is not terrible, because my complaints are of things they had no control over. A flood happened during my time as a customer. Thank goodness nothing of mine was damaged, but I heard from others that many things for them were. This left me scared at all times that a flood could happen again and potentially damage my belongings. Also, their hours are terrible. If you need something last minute and/or late night, you probably wont be able to get it from storage. Especially if its a holiday. Its terrible for the price you pay as a customer and you cant even get to your things if you really need them. read more

I've used Access Storage since 2008, so I'm very familiar with the staff and the facility. I haven't had a problem with insects, smells, or erosion of any kind. I chose Access because it's climate controlled, well maintained and they make it super easy to store items. From the use of their "free" truck, to a variety of sized storage units. And now, you can pay online which is very convenient. The staff is friendly, helpful. I wish they had a moving service too! read more

I rented a storage unit yesterday. Rahim, the store manager, assisted me. He was courteous, informative and flexible. The price was the best price for this unit plus they gave me a free truck rental. This location has all of their units on the same floor and it was a piece of cake to move in with their accessible ramp. I recently found I needed a storage facility near New Brunswick to store some bedroom furniture. I needed a truck as well as the furniture wouldn't fit in my Toyota Corolla. Using Yelp, I found Access Self Storage in North Brunswick and have been impressed by the service level provided by Mike and Maria there and by the state of the facility, which is quite good. On top of that they provide a small box truck as well for only a $20 fee which makes it pretty much ideal for me. When I initially called them after seeing that they offered a great online deal, Michael answered the phone, provided all the information I needed on the facility, the truck, and how the whole process works. When I took a trip out there to tour the facility, he took me around, and I was impressed by how neat it looked so we worked up the paperwork right then. Maria, the Manager there, spoke with me as well and she clearly understands the importance of good service; by the time I left I was confident I'd found a good place for my stuff. I'm about to move the things I'd stored there into a new apartment now and have found that my initial impression was on target.
