After researching a ton of places in Denver for microblading I decided on AoF and could not be more pleased with the results. 1. My eyebrows look so natural people don't know I've had them microbladed. Now that my eyebrows are fully healed I only have to maintenance by plucking. I have long, coarse, Asian eyebrow hair which can be unruly at times (and used to disappear in photos when I turned to the side). With microblading my eyebrows are always on point. 2. Alesya is amazing. She is warm, friendly, and professional. I am a healthcare professional and I love that Alesya is a RN. Her technique is sterile and her aftercare instructions are easy to follow. Both of which are vitally important to decreases chances of infection as well as retaining good color/strokes. 3. No pain no gain. Alesya does not numb you the first pass. This part can be painful but just grit your teeth and it is 100% worth it. The second pass is painless. I brought my headphones for the touch up and it made the process much better. I know quite a few people who have had their eyebrows microbladed by others. They said they were numb for the first pass but complained that their eyebrow strokes weren't crisp (aka they were blurry or faded to the point of requiring multiple touch-up - I.E. more time, money, and an extended healing process). My professional medical opinion is just bear through the 15-20 minutes of the first pass microblading to save yourself days/weeks of healing by the other method. The color matched perfectly with my natural brow color. Here is a layout of my experience: - Alesya has you read and sign paperwork prior to the appointment. She explains everything in detail before starting anything and makes sure to answer any of your questions as well. - Brows are cleaned up, shaped and measured precisely with a ruler to get them as close to symmetrical as possible. Once you are satisfied with this, Alesya looks at the natural color of your brows and gives you a few color options. I'll be quite honest, it hurts! After the first pass, numbing cream is used for the second pass which helps immensely. - The whole appointment took ~2 hours. - AFTERCARE is KEY! As a natural redhead, there are both pros and cons of my coloration, and like most things in life, the good and bad aspects pretty much always balance out in the end, except for in one area: my almost complete lack of eyebrows. As a child, the hairs were present, although white-blonde, until one day early in my adolescence when I made the mistake of drastically over-plucking, after which they never grew back. Not even a little. For nearly 30 years I've struggled daily, sometimes multiple times a day, with brow pencils, stencils, pens, powders, stamps, wands, and tints, in order to try to create the necessary illusion of eyebrows. I've literally shed countless tears of frustration, been late to innumerable appt's, and spent thousands of dollars trying to just look normal. It has never been a secret to my family or friends that I am pretty terrible with makeup, and my eyebrows, or lack of them, have been a topic of conversation & debate for decades now. One friend even refers to a particular period of time in my life as "The Purple Sharpie Years", and without fail, whenever I see my younger, much more stylish sister, she will gently insist on doing my eyebrows for me one morning, in hopes that I will catch on to her technique, although sadly, I never have. Basically, every day of my adult life I've spent at LEAST fifteen minutes (though there have been days on which I've literally spent HOURS) dealing with two little lines of hair above my eyes which nature withheld from me, and it has been downright AWFUL. On Yelp, "Accent on Faces" was the 2nd listing that appeared, and it was immediately apparent that people had been extremely impressed by her work, and there were hundreds of before-and-after photos to prove it. I read every review, 23 total, ALL of them rated 5-stars, and made the decision to call for an appt. Upon meeting Alesya, she was kind and professional, & it was obvious she knew her stuff, so I decided to place all of my confidence in her ability to create a perfectly proportioned, correctly colored, evenly spaced, and adequately thick brow for me. She really did have to create something from nothing, which took not only great skill, but artistry and vision. She was meticulous in her measurements and downright scientific in her choice of coloring, and she made a particular point to demonstrate how all of her equipment was sterile before she used it, which further helped put me at ease. The procedure itself was not pleasant, let's be honest, but it was over very quickly, and I went home with clear aftercare instructions which I followed to the letter. (2-3 weeks later...) The results are beautiful beyond anything I could have dreamed possible. The presence of eyebrows, and their importance in creating a frame of reference when looking at a persons' face cannot be overstated; I look years younger, and SO much better in general.
