Up until this moment this has been one of my favorite places to eat. I called an order in using Yelp. I placed the order while in route. I arrived within 3 minutes. I told the staff my order and was told that they dis jot have it. They told me I must have called the other location and that I would need to go there to pick it up. I called the number in my phone to cancel the order only to find out I had placed the order in another state. That restaurant understood and canceled the order for me since it was 600 miles away. I called this location back and they refused to take my order. They kept saying I had to go to the restaurant where I placed the order. Even after I explained everything to them they refused to take my order. I will never return. read more

I would say that Acapulco is one of the best places to eat in NKY. The menu is huge, the only problem is choosing what you'd like! The only negative thing I'd say is that our waiter took a very long time on everything, and my quesadilla came out cold and we had to ask another waiter to grab the check because our waiter never came back after giving the food. The chips, salsa & queso are fantastic. The steak & cheese burrito is phenomenal. The chicken enchiladas verde were good, but too vinegar-y for my taste that night. The only issues we had were with being seated and ordering. When we came in and stated a party of 3, we were given 2 menus & 2 sets of silverware. After we had ordered our food, our same server came back and asked if we were ready to order again. We laughed it off, but thought it bore mentioning. Used to have good service. Sat at the bar for 15 minutes and did not take our order, but they looked at us many times. They had no problem serving what appeared to be regulars that sat down right after we did. If you want even descent service, go elsewhere. This place used to be good, but they severely went down hill!!! Used to be a favorite go to of mine, but never again. My family and I have been regulars at Acapulco for years. With that being said, our last visit was one of the worst restaurant experiences we have ever had. The margaritas(normally our favorite in town) were disgusting. It tasted like there was no alcohol in it. Our waiter was nice, but service was very slow. To top it all off, when we got our food a COCKROACH CRAWLED OUT OF IT. It was disturbing to say the least. We were told we didn't have to pay for our food as soon as the waiter saw the bug, but the overall experience was terrible. I would not recommend going to this place. read more

I've been coming here for years. The last couple of times the quality of food has not been good. Tonight hit a all time low. A hair was found in the queso under a burrito. The manager was asked over and his immediate response was that no one in the kitchen had long hair- well neither did anyone at the table. It's disappointing when something like this happens and instead of just owning the issue, a defensive position is taken. The food is fine at this restaurant--much better than the old Rio Grande location that was here--the portions are entirely TOO big! However, each time we've gone, we have the unfortunate experience of getting the same server, who acts like we're a bother. Each time we enter, we're greeted happily by a host, who then seats us in "Lurch's" section. Last night was no different--I "almost" asked if we could move, but considering it was just us and one other group of diners in the place, I thought that would be rude. I don't know if he doesn't like women, maybe? It's usually my mother, my toddler and I--his demeanor is immediately gruff and rushed, as if you interrupted him from something more important (I mostly saw him folding flatware and talking and laughing in Spanish, watching a soccer game). But, back at our table, he was devoid of any type of social etiquette. The restaurant has a large, detailed menu,so you want to take a little time to look it over. He circled us like sharks, then stopped coming over, then eventually, we had to hail him down. He said, briskly, "you decide?" and then instead of picking up my menu after I'd laid it on the table, he snapped his fingers at me to "give it to him". And I did. I was both angry that he "snapped" his fingers at me like I was a dog, AND that I did what he requested...about this time, I had to ask for chips and salsa. I was told. "they're coming.." After bringing us our food, he never came back--for any reason--no refills, not to ask if we wanted another Tuesday night special Sangria, nothing. Finally finished with dinner, (I ordered the Fajita Quesadilla--huge, but pretty good, honestly), he came to collect our plates and AGAIN, pointed to the plate and gestured for ME to pick it up and hand it to him. We ate at this restaurant for my daughter's 16th birthday. We had 5 adults and 3 children. The server was so rude! He wouldn't make eye contact with any of us and if we asked him for something he wouldn't acknowledge that we spoke. He wouldn't even give us our check so we could pay and leave. We were driving back to Louisville from Cincinnati and needed a place to eat. It was a pretty generic Mexican restaurant. Good peach margarita, but the straws don't really fit into the glasses. Great Service and food was yummy. The place is rather large and has a lot of seating space, so we had no wait. I got the the Chori-Pollo, which is a combination of chorizo sausage and chicken. It was a little greasy but it taste very good. Their salsa is on point, not to hot not to mild and comes to your table as soon as you go in. My only complaint is the amount of time it took to pay for our meal, we have to go to the front counter and there was a line that took about 10 minutes to get to our turn since only 1 person was at the register and it kept getting interrupted with phone calls or other servers. read more

Visiting here on vacation and was very satisfied. Upon seating we received chips and salsa. Salsa had just the right amount of spice. Husband ordered seafood fajitas and could not finish his meal. This gem of Mexican restaurant is nestled in a strip center on Mall Rd in Florence. It's not very sexy on the exterior, but the food and drinks have got it going on inside! First and foremost - order an Acapulco margarita. My, oh my is this an awesome margarita. It is hand made by the manager every day and is only served on the rocks. I love me some margaritas in the summer, and I have had them many places - but hands down, this is the best one I have ever ordered (even the ones in Acapulco, Mexico don't hold a candle!) Warning - all you need is ONE ;) The addition of grand marnier makes it extra smooth yet not too sweet. You're welcome... Now on to the food.The fajita taco salad is out of this world. I have never seen so much lean meat and chicken in a salad - they simply DO NOT SKIMP. Be sure you make it to the bottom though, the black beans are hiding down there. So good! Other favorites include the beef tacos (hubby's fave) and the chicken tortilla soup. You'll have enough to take some for lunch the next day. The fresh avocados are delish in the soup. My new go-to dish is a new menu item - spinach & chicken burrito. It's not on the low-calorie list, but definitely high in flavor. Alfredo, the general manager is great! Really cares about his guests. Shockingly good. I'm a picky eater and I've had a LOT of Mexican food. Normally El Jinete in Taylor Mill is my go-to, but this place seriously has the best Mexican style food I've had. They smothered my Chimichangas in cheese sauce and I had LEFT OVER CHEESE when I was done. But it wasn't too much - meaning, I'm not some cheese addict. Guacamole, freash. Chicken and shredded beef Chimichangas, amazing. Giant Dos Equis beer, amazing. Btw my beer was $5.50 for a 32 oz. Imported beer. Yeah, you heard. Birds the word. This gem tucked away in a strip mall with like, mo windows was also PACKED. Every table, I couldn't believe it. 8-10 people each at the tables in the middle. It's just so good. Best quesadilla I've ever had. Excellent every time. Great, calm atmosphere. The Quesadilla Ranchera is so good they could charge twice as much for it, and probably the rest of the menu as well. Seriously, this quesadilla is awesome. Had lunch with my wife and the cable installer. Alberto did a good job on installing my cable so we treated him to Acapulco. I ordered the Enchilada and my wife ordered the fish dish. Food was great.
