The original Acadiana Cafe, off Marbach road, was an iconic place to eat for over 20 years. We visited in 2024, the last week it was in business, prior to closing down to what appeared for good. I recently saw that the Acadiana Cafe resurfaced itself, but now at the 113 year old Historic La Coste Hotel near Castroville. It offers a similar Cajun flair menu, but with a twist to the dinning experience. An open bar, a few tables for inside dinning and an outdoor picnic table seating for dinner time meals. Cooking is done in the parked Streamline trailer outside to give that true food truck like experience. Outdoor Live music playing on some nights and it appears to have a relaxed vibe to wind down the day. Goals for a weekend dinner. For today's lunch, I went with the Jambalaya and it had plenty of flavor and spice, while it brought me back to the original taste that I remember so well. Gotta do the biscuits, too to help you go down for an afternoon country nap. Like many small towns, the service was super friendly and we felt right at home even though you order at the bar and then wait to be served.

Food was amazing, definitely will be back! Such a welcoming atmosphere and great people, must try the chicken fried steak!

I had been a patron of the original location in San Antonio for decades so was really excited to see the new place. The menu is pared down from the original because this is a smaller location but the food was excellent! I was told that they are slowly expanding and adding to the menu. The cajun nachos, sausage & chicken gumbo and the pastrami sandwich were excellent.... But please bing the cornbread back!!

I was a bit disappointed by this restaurant reincarnated. The food is fine, what we ordered tasted good. But being a regular at the San Antonio version of Acadiana Cafe that closed I felt a bit cheated by the new La Coste version. It is no longer a cajun restaurant. The only Cajun dishes I saw available were the M-F daily lunch specials. Now more an Americana cafe. And it's interesting to visit. You enter into the La Coste Hotel bar, and order food at the bar. Then find a table (inside or out). The bartender takes your order ticket to a food trailer outside, then brings you a beeper and your drink order. Once your beeper goes off you need to go out back to the food trailer to pick up your order. The ruben sandwich ok, kinda thin but everything present. The chicken fried steak fingers were good, but had small pieces of beef inside thick breading. All tasted ok, well cooked and seasoned. Just was hoping for some étouffée and fried okra. I understand different owners than the San Antonio version, so maybe in the future might get its cajun mojo back.

This review is only for the customer service. I live over an hour and 15 minutes away. I called to ask if they are open whoever answered the phone said yes and gave me the times. I get in the car and drive there to find out that they have a private event. The restaurant is closed for this specific event. It was upsetting having to drive all this way. The building itself is historical. It looks like a really cute place for a dining experience. Also another sad news is they do not offer crawfish anymore. My trips to the old Acadiana were specifically to eat crawfish! What a bummer!

Catfish was excellent! Red beans & rice on point & fresh homemade lemonade was the best! Great meal!

Might be better to get your food to go if you can, but overall, even for a gas station, the place is very clean.

The line was consistent and the meats/seafood is cooked fresh, so there is a wait. Each plate was about $15, which is average. The portions were better than expected, which I appreciate and she made sure that I saw my plate contents before she bagged them up (extra credit on Customer Service) Now, about the taste ...I mean, overall, it was just OK!!! And, I really wanted to be "wow'd, " but it just wasn't. Though the fish was a large piece, it was just OK. The wings had a sweet seasoning on them, which I didn't care for. The collards were a bit too spicy for me. The Mac had too much cajun seasoning-plus, it wasn't baked . The Peach Cobbler didn't have enough juice or peaches in it, which made it kinda dry. Will we return...probably to try the oxtail & gumbo. Will it be a priority...probably not!

Ma Parker prides herself on family, giving people second chances and a decent meal for a reasonable price. Everyone who came in for lunch paid Ma Harper respect and was treated like family. The decor is die-hard NOLA with tons of memorabilia. The booths and chairs are old but the food is made with pride and love. The fried shrimp po-boy, fully dressed on a perfect NOLA roll was a must try. A small side of red beans and rice was also included. The sandwich was packed with crispy fried shrimp, but the normal remoulade sauce was replaced with ketchup / mayo mixture, not savory. The red beans and rice were fine but lacked real flavor. I am glad I gave Ma Harper's Creole Kitchen a chance. Many of the frequent flyers here, obviously love this neighborhood staple. Ma Harper's has a big heart and I wish her continued success. Dining here is more than food, it can also be about love and feeding people. Thanks Ma Harper for a memorable experience.

Take a look at Google Review where they are a 4.2 and Open Table (the truest restaurant ranking out there) have them at a whopping 4.8 star review! Anyway, this place is awesome. I took my son and brand new daughter-in-law, her parents and other very close friends there this past Friday and must say everything was perfectly beautiful. I called the day before and spoke with whom I believe is the manager named Kim and she assisted me with a larger than normal reservation. When we arrived Friday at 7 PM the staff was absolutely fantastic in assisting us with our reservation. After a celebratory bottle of champagne we all had appetizers and everyone had different main dish and deserts, everyone thought their food was over the top excellent. I wish I knew what our server's name was because she did such an outstanding job, kudos to her, she was great. The ambience there is unbelievable. Just a real cool place to go to. Their food style is upscale Cajun cuisine. If you haven't eaten here, I suggest you go real soon. If you kinda like Maca-whos? there in New Braunfels your gonna really love this place.

WOW! bright green, tender, not overcooked leaves with a light cream sauce. i passed it around and everyone LOVED it! another surprisingly yummy bite was the chicken tenders! they got passed around too, moist, tender and very tasty. salads that passed by looked delicious and fresh! not your usual leafy dishes. we did have to ask for drink refills although there werent many tables. bills arrived & onion rings had been divided amongst us - appreciate they can do that, but friend had asked for them to be added to her bill. i was also charged $2 for my spinach. server again said it was his fault (not noting sub) and offered to remove it. but apparently there was an upcharge, which is fine, but note on menu or have server inform. but since all are listed as fries with no separate pricing - it looks like they are interchangeable. it wasnt a bad meal but at $45 plus tip, i left feeling like i had a fried basket experience at a premium price. i told myself i'd pay $20 for the spinach so...
