Some friends have been telling us about this place for a few months but it's a bit of a drive and we hadn't had the chance to stop by until today. The place definitely lived up to the buildup! The place itself is an outdoor type of place but with seating under a pavilion. There is a playground for kids; several TVs for sports or other events; and a small stage for a band. We decided to try the buffalo fries to start with. They were probably the best buffalo fries that we've had and that's saying a lot! The fries were perfectly cooked. The small cubes of chicken were tender and the buffalo sauce was the perfect flavor and the quantity of sauce was perfect - not too much or too little. We tried the Ringer which is a burger with BBQ, ranch sauce, pickles, bacon, cheese and onion rings. The burger was very moist and flavorful. The combination was really good. Just a really great burger - in my all-time top 5 burgers. We also tried the Jalapeño Melt which was a burger on Texas toast with bacon, jalapeños, pepper jack cheese, and BYK sauce. It was a very tasty patty melt - moist and flavorful. I will b looking for excuses to head to Floresville so I can take a few minutes and go to Poteet so I can eat here again. Been following this spot on socials for a bit now and their food always looks soo good. Well, today was the day that I took a 20 min drive to try for myself! Nice open area to sit, they have a stage for when they have bands perform. I ordered the special: Dbl meat/Dbl cheese and bacon, with fries and a drink. Got my food in about 8-10 mins and let me tell you!! The food was delicious!! The burger was juicy and flavorful, not messy at all. The fries were topped with a seasoning and man were they good.. they were thick cuts, and didn't stand a chance against me. Hahah.. I devoured that meal and it hit the spot! We went to my grandson's baseball in Poteet. After the game we ask a local lady if she knew where there would be a good place to eat. She recommended the Backyard Kitchen. My husband, son-in-law, my daughter and their three boys and I went for supper there. It was absolutely delicious! We had cheese burgers. Their real homemade burgers. The vegetables were so fresh and the BYK sauce in the cheeseburgers was absolutely delicious! Their real homemade fries were nice and crispy and a can soft drink came with the meal. Every price reasonable place to eat. The atmosphere was great as will they have a large outside area and plenty of out door play for the kids in the play ground there. The fans made the outdoor so pleasant. I give them five stars I highly recommend anyone wanting a great homemade cheese burger to go to the Backyard Kitchen in Poteet, TX read more

Let's start with the food: omg absolutely delicious! I had the Texas ringer burger and the bacon was perfect, the burger was cooked Just right. The onion rings added an extra level of deliciousness. Everything about this burger was amazing! I ordered the mango habanero chicken fries! Not spicy at all, it was so flavorful. My partner had the Good morning burger and it was just as delicious. & he paired it with the bacon cheeseburger fries. We both want to return until we try their entire menu & then return again! Service: from the moment we arrived we were greeted and the staff checked on us often and were so very friendly. Ambiance: it's about 68° & it's dinner time and it feels great in here. It's in a lil barn type of building. You sit on picnic tables and they have board games you can play. They were also showing a football game too. I went here on a weekday for lunch, and it was a no frills, but decent food type of place. The food had good options like burgers, chicken fingers, etc depending on the mood you were in. However I highly stress the no frills part, the seating area is within a trailer so it's HOT up in there, I didn't feel any A/C. However the little boy serving was so sweet and attentive, and the food was good, so I'd def I still recommend it and eat here again. read more

Best burgers we've had in a long, long time! We stopped here after the Rockberry Ranch Pumpkin Patch in Poteet, and this place did not disappoint. Not only were the burgers and fries delicious, but the service was great too! For seating, there is an indoor area and a huge outdoor area. We sat indoors to get out of the heat and the room was nice and cool. There were TVs in there with sporting events on. I've heard of backyard kitchen and have heard many great things about them. So I Went to pick up 3 burgers 3 fries and 3 drinks for my workers and I. Must say service was friendly and fast for the food you get. Now the food was absolutely great it's very hard to find good burgers in a small town but they were awesome. The cut fries perfectly salt and peppered in which appreciated that they were not the crinkle fries that most places like this would serve.
