But the highlights: the wonderful staff and conversation and meeting Rudy, who was the creator of their local beverages, discovering that he offered a cold beverage called Tepache. Similar in "fizz" to kombucha, for a reference. Now traditionally this beverage is made with pineapple that is fermented to give it a bubbly fizziness, but Sr. Rudy has come up with a variation, using ginger and blackberry and some other fruits and I tell you that it is worth making a special trip just to sample his particular recipe. The blend of the coffee and the syrup is perfection and not too sweet or too bitter.
