Cute little place. The tea was a little bitter like the leaves sat a bit long in the brew but the service was good and attentive.

Yes! This place is awesome! When my Kids get bored we come here. You can play classic video games. The drinks! Lavender lemonade is my favorite. The boba is good too. Try the cherry boba in your drinks. It's a cute comfy place. We played a board game there once and we forgot we weren't home. The staff is super friendly and the drinks we had were always great! It's not the cheapest, but still cheaper than most.

Was in my way to Houston from Concan and I really needed coffee. Saw this place passing Castroville, ain't ever been in this town but googled it and it's nice and quaint. The same can be said for Bean & Boba! The vibe brought me back to my childhood of gaming and anime so I felt like I belonged, my wife got the lychee peach tea with cheese foam and I got a large cold brew. Fact is... the large cold brew was about 24oz and still cost less than a 16 oz cold brew from Starbucks. I added cookie butter flavoring in it and first sip I said wow! Sad I couldn't get a pic that's how fast I drank it, but my wife's drink I was able to get! Tastes great!

I love this establishment! Their drinks are always killer, and the staff are super sweet. Only complaint is their prices are a little steep, but nothing worse than Starbucks or any other competition. Overall great small business

This is my favorite little coffee/boba shop in all of Texas. The staff is friendly, the ambiance is so cute and fun, and the food is worth every penny. My favorite drink is the POG with passion fruit popping boba, and the Italian sandwich is phenomenal!

We're were driving through town to go to Hondo and immediately made a U-turn to stop at Bean & Boba. And im so happy we did! The brown sugar milk tea boba was delicious. My husband had an iced americano and said it was good too. We'll definitely stop whenever we drive through town.

WOW! This is definitely a hidden gem. I didn't even know this was just right around the corner from my house, I needed motivation to get up today and when i saw boba i figured that was enough. Walking in the store, is so comfortable! I got the Lavender Black tea and this is by far the best i've had. Thank you, and i will be back (with my wife this time)

The shop is made from an old gas station that was converted into a cafe. They serve pastries along with a wide range of coffee beverages. I always find myself drawn to their seasonal drinks, which are usually themed around something fun. This year's holiday menu was Ice Age themed, but I remember last year being Shrek themed, and I think there was even a Top Gun themed menu at some point over the summer. For the Ice Age menu, I got a Manny which was a Chocolate Orange Mocha drink. I got it hot and it was great! The space inside is quiet, nice, and well lit. It's a great place to get work done. In the past, I've noticed the wifi could be tragically slow, which made some tasks difficult. During my most recent visit, though, I don't recall the wifi being slow at all, so it seems like that issue has been fixed. There is also plenty of outdoor seating if you get lucky with one of the three nice weather days in San Antonio. I really like the coffee here. For such a small shop, they do a great job, and it has become an essential stop for me every time I am in Castroville. RIYL: Coffee shops that are old gas stations but do not have a functional gas pumps anymore, so you don't accidentally get gasoline instead of a latte. I hate when that happens!!

I feel as though the treats could've used more time into the flavor and texture than the aesthetics. I'd rather have a better tasting croissant than one with gold sprinkled on it, just not necessary. It also doesn't justify charging $46 for 6 little treats that are not fresh. Outrageous especially when your competitors charge more than half that price for a dozen treats and they taste better. It also wouldn't be so upsetting if prices were posted anywhere in the shop so I should know to taste one first to see if it was worth it. Overall I'd say drive down the street to the next bakery. Unless you like spending a lot on something average. Overall this place does have potential and I'd like to see it improve for a possible future visit. The best thing I tried was the cookie and that's the easiest thing to make.

The young lady running it was such a kind, sweet & patient woman, helpful & willing to answer all my questions about the pastries & goodies. They had baked goodies with fruit, custard, crumble topping, & even edible gold if you're feeling extra special the day you're getting your treats. (I'll be feeling extra next trip for sure. ) Today, apparently, my taste buds were craving all things flaky & crusty. So, I ended up with four different types of croissant style treats. Which is no shock, I do love croissants. The apple pecan just called my name, it smells like a freshly baked apple pie from your Mom's house. So for this Pi Day, this was my choice! Next I snapped up the almond croissant, cinnamon sugar croissant & lastly savory one to try out - their ham & cheese croissant. I have to admit - these put the ones I used to get back home in Wöllstein to shame. These are phenomenal. Their croissant dough is laminated with perfection. I plan on coming back until I try everything. I do have a favorite bakery in San Antonio, and I like one in Castroville, but it's an old fashioned one. I can tell you Baked is absolutely worth stopping by, take note of their hours Thursday - Sunday, worth remembering. When you're in the area get you some amazing baked goods at Baked. You will be glad you did. Worth it!

But if you're in or around Castroville - I'd tell you to go to Octane Coffee. Found them on Yelp this morning. They are tough to find. As a matter of fact, when I pulled up to their current location I literally said aloud in my car..."Is this a joke? - this is a winery." But after a short investigation, I did indeed find good coffee. I spent about an hour hanging out with the owner and his mother. We were the only ones in the place. They were both incredibly friendly. The Hazelnut latte I ordered was just hot enough, had four shots in it, and was very good. Plus - they had wifi :) I even bought a bag of coffee the owner recommended. I was sorry to hear the story about their current location, though. Seems they used to be "downtown Castroville", but the landlord kept raising their rent, and he could only roast his coffee beans during certain times, etc. Sad when local business are pushed out for almighty dollar.... Anyway - They moved to this current location, which, I'll be honest, is not the most convenient - but it gives the owner a chance to do his deal! Wishing them all the best! Will go back if I'm in the area...

Always hate when food trucks sell out, though it is understandable. Friendly employees, ready to answer any questions regarding the menu. What did we choose tonight? *Fried Mushrooms were unsatisfying. Slacking on flavor, breading overpowered. *Southwest Turkey Melt Sandwich, full of creative ingredients. Avocado, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, pico de gallo, and even some kettle chips! Turkey was tasty deli thin cut, flavors came together well. Texas Toast was grilled with the right amount of butter an oil (you know how often places serve it drenched in oil!). I will say that the cheese was a little firm and the sandwich a little lukewarm for a "melt". Chose *Potato Salad as the side, which was tastier than expected; appreciated that there was not as much mustard or vinegar as most. *Mushroom Swiss Burger ironically had cheese that was far more melted than the Turkey Melt. Which was awesome, of course. Fresh and flavored sliced mushrooms (unlike them fried ones), a tasty fat patty (moist, tender, maybe a little extra flavor needed), and buttery, slightly sweet buns. Overall excellent. Came with *Fries, which were satisfactory; some were burnt and dry. Dessert was a *Fried Twinkie with Raspberry Drizzle. Oh, it was heavenly.

There was a sign to seat yourselves. OK. We sat down and the bartender brought us menus. Us and a group of three were the only customers. Brought us waters. While looking at the menu, a server comes over and asks if we wanted appetizers or go straight to order. Straight to order, please. The husband ordered the brisket pot roast. It came with asparagus and what he thinks was puréed squash. I had the pecan chicken. Panko breaded with pecans and a bourbon sauce. Maple and bourbon were the flavor elements. Came with baked Mac and cheese and sliced slightly charred carrots. This was really good, as was the husbands plate. Warm Sourdough bread and butter is served with the meal. We split a Caesar salad. The salad was OK, the dressing was a little tart and served on the side. I'm taking a slice of chocolate cake to go. As I peek into the bag, it is a generous slice with strawberries and a dollop of whipped cream. Stay tuned. The restaurant is part of the Hillside Resort. Looks like a bunch of rooms. When we were about to leave a group of women came in and sat at the bar. I told the bartender we'd heard about them through Texas Eats. He said 'are they still showing that? That was about six chefs ago!' All righty then. I'd say it's worth a trip to try.

Pork chop and steak were not dry, but juicy with lots of flavor. I loved pot roast growing up , so I had to order it here. Although tasty, texture was a little chewy and tough. Also would have enjoyed a little more helping of vegetable/potato purée underneath the roast. The salmon dish looked fabulous, but was slightly salty. The sweet bun that accompanied each dish were delicious! Service was good. I'd come back to try the pork chop next time around.
