Given the recent weather, I'll be danged if I frequent my fave taco trucks to have heart-warming food while my bones chill in 50 degree mist. Nah, if I have the option, I'll now go to Tortas up in Canyon Park. Generally, the strip mall that is Canyon Park is to be avoided. But not for this. Taco truck food indoors? To the bray of Mexican soccer announcers on the tele as I eat surrounded by nationals? With 24+ tortas varieties? Reasonable prices tons of soccer themed stuff plastering the walls? Enchiladas de nopales (cactus) were scrumptious. The white corn tortillas were thick (but not too thick), flavorful, and managed to retain their texture despite it being a delivery order. I really dislike when enchiladas contain more cheese than the actual requested filling--these did not disappoint. Minimal cheese, lots of yummy cactus strips and onion inside, flavorful and tangy salsa verde, with a nice sprinkle of cotija to top them off. The beans and rice were fresh, tasty, and not just an afterthought the way some sides can be. I have been eating Aca las tortas since i am a kid. Usually Bothell location . But now that i work in everett at a car dealership . For us leaving for a minute to get lunch means loosing clients . We call and order to go and is pretty fast. They care for togo orders. Sauces . Limes . Napkins . Diego the server was pretty cool, and new to serving as he usually used to cook. So happy that you guys are in everett now ! Me and my coworkers will keep coming back! Sports are on. Not just soccer . Oh and the food is amazing !! Unfortunately i had to change my review. They prove to me that they are unorganized ! Ordered constantly for my work office & coworkers We got every single order wrong 2 times. Also once they gave me solo a wrong order. Called they didn't return money$ on top of that offered a free meal next time. And nothing next time. Because it was a different server . Today i ordered 3 big soups for 3 different people. And it was to go . They expected 3 grown Mexican man to eat without lime or hot sauce? So i ask for some extra.... and she had brought the original receipt with the price of 16$ When i ask for the limes as i gave her my card she went ahead and ran it without even telling me of an upcharge ... however was few $ but what bothered me more was the way she acted like i was trash and said if you want to i can pay your limes and laughed..... so i cancelled all my order and all my entires office order. And we will no longer buy at a place where our business is not appreciated. Also dont try to get a drink or anything from there . After reading good reviews on Yelp, I decided to give this restaurant a try. I went there expecting to get some fish tacos, however, they didn't have any flour tortillas (I'm not a corn tortilla fan at all). So, I gave that up and tried a torta even though I've never had one before. I tried the Maradona which had carne asada, spicy pork, avocado, onions, and tomatoes. Oh man, that was tasty. I tried the carne asada burrito. The meat was super dry and stale. I think it was meat from the previous day or something. The refried beans and rice had the same issue, they did not seem fresh. The whole thing tasted like a frozen burrito from a gas station re-heated in a microwave. There was also no sour cream even though the menu stated it comes with it. Granted, I did order this about 11am. Maybe that's too early to order a carne asada burrito? Either way, I took a few bites and threw the rest of it away. Waste of money. Wow this place is GOOD. Happened to be driving past and detoured for a quick lunch. This place is a serious soccer fan's hangout. The menu occupied a huge wall and was filled with wonderful images and detailed descriptions. Being in a hurry we ordered a Carne Asada Burrito, a Mixed Veggie Burrito and two chicken tacos. While sitting there waiting I watched several orders come by from the kitchen. All looked very good but the Floutas looked unbelievable - a definite order for next time. We quickly got our food, even with the place being filled up. What a pleasant surprise. The tacos were saucy and delicious. The burritos were outstanding and while the veggie concoction in that burritos was different, it was very good. And the condiment sauces were AWSOME, flavorful and fiery. Let's lay it down right off the bat: Get the tortas and do yourself a favor. The sign, after all, says "Aca las Tortas". You don't go to Teddy's Bigger Burgers for a chicken sandwich and a salad, or Ezell's Chicken for the french fries, do you? I couldn't help but notice that the few poor reviews of this place involve people not getting the tortas. I hear the other food items are good too, but if you choose to get something other than a torta, I wash my hands of your experience. As for the tortas themselves, there are, I believe, 28 to choose from, generally involving some combination of meats, vegetables, and cheeses on bread. I have tried several, but the one I always go back to is the Alemana: Mexican breaded steak, chorizo, white cheese, melted jack cheese (and yes these are 2 different cheeses), lettuce, tomato, avocado, and either jalapenos or chipotle (I inevitably choose the jalapenos, but when I have had the chipotle by accident it has not upset me). I have nothing against the other sandwiches, but they are not as amazing as the Alemana, which seems to me to be as perfect a grouping of sandwich ingredients as exists anywhere in the city. The steak is thinly sliced and well seasoned; the chorizo has a strong but not overpowering flavor; the jalapenos and avocados add moisture and a smooth texture. The bread is toasted on the grill and provides a superb housing for the various ingredients that enhances the experience marvelously. It's about $8 for a torta, and since it fills you up nicely that seems like a perfectly fair price to pay. The Hispanic community seems to agree with me about the quality and authenticity of the food, as at any given time there are large numbers of them packed inside this hole-in-the-wall feverishly devouring the kitchen's latest creations. I always consider this a strongly positive sign for any "ethnic" restaurant when large numbers of people of the appropriate culture are eating there almost any time of the day or night. I can't help but recommend this place, especially if you haven't had a torta before. This is a great place to try one for the first time (or the second, or tenth, or hundredth really). There are a ton of options to choose from on the wall, so just take the time to read through them to see what looks best. My partner is from Mexico City and is a complete Mexican food snob. We have been going to Aca Las Tortas since it was just a truck at the gas station. The tortas here are better than pretty much any other torta in the Seattle area! There green salsas are delicious and anything with milaneza will blow your mind. My husband and I got some take out from here for dinner tonight. It was our first (and last) time eating here. We were pretty hungry, so it shouldn't have been hard to please us. I had the carnitas burrito and a piece of flan. Flan was good but not worth $4. The burrito contained beans, rice, and (not shredded pork) instead just chunks of gooey slimy fat, ew! My husband got carne asana tacos and said those were ok. He also had the menudo and some barbacoa tacos and was not pleased. Most everything was probably store bought and heated up. This place used to be a bus parked on 164th that has now opened a proper restaurant. So now they are a lunch spot for all these people that would never eat out of a truck(their loss). I would give their bus 3 stars there are way better tortas out there. The meat quality has always been a little poor to much gristle. taste has always been ok. but now they want $8.00 for a torta get real Most places are $3.50 to $5.00. Just went in today for the first time to try this place out. I've never found a good Mexican restaurant in WA. I walk in and it's packed, I stand by the register for about 3 mins until the lady comes from the back to take my order. I ordered the 3 enchiladas lunch special. I placed it to-go. The reason I came here is because co workers are always raving about this place. Waited about 7 mins. She brings it out as if I'm eating there. I told her its to-go. She goes back and puts it in a to-go plate. Just to be sure I checked my receipt and it does show I have it for To Go. She didn't even put napkins it there. When I look and taste the first bite. First of all, the lay out of this place is absolutely ridiculous. The order window and the cashier are right as you walk in the door. Instant congestion. Very large menu that takes up a whole wall that is very hard to read without stepping as far back as possible to be able to read it. I ordered three tacos, two carne asada and one fish taco. My girlfriend ordered a beef tostada. We also ordered some chips and salsa. Food came out one dish at a time and was not very good at all. The beef in the tacos was dry and half gristle. Prior to the opening of the store front I was a regular at the Aca Las Tortas taco truck on the Bothell-Everett HWY located near Kenmore Lanes, now that they have a store front that is located in downtown Canyon Park it is ever better! This is a family business and it shows for sure. The family all cares about the service and the quality of food that they are putting out. I cannot say enough about the menu. Everything about it is amazing! Taco, Burritos, Tortas, everything is great. Beware, this is not an "Americanized" mexican food joint. If you are used the the Azteca's and Las Margaritas of the area and consider that real mexican food you will be suprised with this place. This place is 100% authentic mexican food. If you have ever been to Mexico and eaten the food of the local you will know what I am talking about. My young kids even love eating there. They have kids specific meals like quesidilla's, rice and beans, etc. What a great place! The soccer theme is lots of fun! Soccer is always playing on the flat screen and the decore is all soccer as well. By far the best lunch spot in the Bothell/ Caynon Park area. This is a family that knows their food and has fun doing it. The only thing I am missing is a Tamale when I go there. If they would whip up some real Tamales, then I would be in heaven. The place to go if you want authentic mexican food (coming from a mexican ;)) The flautas are huge and the barbacoa is always moist. Pambazos are as original as they can get. Everything I have tried here is very flavorful. Only set back is the place is rather small, very few tables and not the most wonderful ambiance, so this is a place that you go to eat, not to be impressed by the decor.
