Best smog check experience I've had. Great service! Sam was friendly, straightforward, and got me in and out fast.

I FELL FOR HIS SCAM. I was not expecting the technician to be dishonest, because he had smog checked my car the last time it was due. He was so helpful. Services was fast and friendly. Price was appropriate. It was important to me to support a small, minority run business. I would have assigned him 5 stars, had I written a review at that time This time. If you read what Jorge P wrote on May 2019, the same thing happened to me, but I fell for it. I thought that I could trust him. Sam said that I could not pass due to a situation involving a chip, blah, blah, blah. To fix it would require going to the dealer where they'd charge $500. He'd only charge me a couple of bucks extra to make a tweek to the chip and the car would pass. I approved it. Forget about a couple of dollars more, he doubled the price. Trust is important to me. I'm sad to say that in my recent experience, AC SMOG CENTER WAS NOT HONEST OR TRUSTWORTY. read more

Beware of this place, it's untrustworthy. I was initially quoted $69.99 for a SMOG check, but the price suddenly increased to $89.99. He pointed the DMV renewal notice said it has "special requests" for the STAR station ( the same DMV notice written for past 27 years~ ). When I threatened to go elsewhere, the price magically dropped back to $69.99, but with additional fees for the card and paperwork, bringing the total to over $82. Save yourself the hassle and go somewhere else. read more

Recently, I was looking for a smog place for my car... I tried out AC Smog Center and honestly, I was very impressed. Sam took care of everything very fast and efficiently. I went to get my smog done and from what I hear people telling me he over charged me, my friend went that same week to a place in Alhambra and they only charged him $53 and at this placed they charged me $93. Not sure if because I'm a girl I went alone and took advantage cause I don't know anything about a smog, this was my first time ever getting one done, but next time I will do my research. read more

Came here while visiting a friend in the Los Angeles area because I needed a star smog done I stay in Long Beach) and the guy who runs the place was so nice! As soon as I pulled in, he came to greet me to see what service I needed. There is a little seating area with magazines to look at while you wait. The service didn't take long at all. This man is a fraud. Tries to scam by saying Honda's aren't passing right now because of "new laws". I drove over 900 miles to "break in" my new O2 censor and he kept saying my catalytic converter wasn't the original piece for the car and that's why it wasn't passing. I've dealt with so many hardships this year and to be sent away numerous times because "it wasn't passing" was becoming too much to handle. Almost made me pay over 300$ to pass my cars smog. Thankfully, I decided to get another opinion elsewhere. I came back to see what his gadget would say about my car only for him to say it was still reading "incomplete". I was upset and at that point because I knew he wasn't being genuine. I told this man with the light eyes that his computer is incorrect because someone else said it passed. Right after I said I took it someplace else, he checked my car again and said it passed!! Wth. I'm convinced he wanted to squeeze 300+ out of me to pass my cars smog check. Please read!! Ok so this guy is a rip off and 100% Fraudster. Despite your car being new and well taken care of he will find a way to manipulate you in thinking your car isn't going to pass, one of his tactics is plugging your car and demonstrating on his computer that a code is being generated in result "you won't pass" I've trusted this guy for over 5 years now and never questioned him until now. Because I finally got a second opinion from another smog station saying to me that this guy is known to be Fraud. To everyone, if your check engine light is NOT on! You will 100% pass he will use his manipulating skills to tell you there are "new laws". Please trust, get out of there if he try's to pull a fast one on you. This place is very shady and a rip off. We ended up paying $110 total to get our smog check completed. The prices have increased a lot since the 2009 review. It cost us $60 for the smog check (plus another $12 for the certificate) and because there was an electrical problem with our vehicle, it didn't pass / the diagnostic test didn't work. Rather than redo the smog check for free once our vehicle was fixed - LIKE MOST OTHER SMOG CHECK PLACES, they charged us an additional $50. That was AFTER my husband argued with the guy and got him to come down $20. Otherwise they would have charged us another $70 ($60 for test, $12 for certificate). Avoid going to this place unless every other smog check center in LA is closed down. read more

Located on the corner of Harriman Ave. and N. Huntington Dr. The smog test is $49.99, $8.25 for certificate and $1.75 for electronic transfer fee. I think I got a smog check for quite a bit cheaper in Alhambra but this place is really close by me. There's also a paint and body shop and a place that does air conditioning and wheel alignment right next to it. The owner prides himself on customer service and believes in spreading his customer base by word of mouth, so here I am. He also gave me a discount as a first time customer and because I paid in cash. Overall this place ain't bad. The owner is friendly and I paid less than other places nearby would have charged. read more

We love coming to this place because if your car does have any issues, they have the skills to fix it. Which is really helpful. The other option is to possibly fail your test, then have to go to your regular mechanic, who can fix your car, but not give you a smog test. Then go back to the smog center and retest. Sheesh. Had my car smog checked there last year The Armenian guy says he does RVs So when my RV smog text came up, I took it to him He told me to pull into his shop as he was guiding me I stopped looked to look at the top, lest my rooftop airconditioning would hit He said, " don't worry bout the top just keep pulling in" Then I heard a crash, my airconditioning unit sustained a $150 damage Then he said, " well the RVs I've done were a lot smaller" He misrepresented himself to get business I had to smog test my 740i that day too, but didn't go back to this dishonest Armenian read more

Rip off!!!! Came here since its close to home but he tried to rip us off instead. I found a place cheaper to do the smog but he convinced us to stay since he said he'd match the price of $50 turned out he gave us a bogus code on his scanner and tried to charge us more but charged $65 instead since he made it sound like he was found us a favor. My man ran out scanner when we got home and at work and no code came out. Bogus to the fullest , sucks because he would've had more business with us, not anymore! read more

Crooked smog center. This man glanced at my car and said my car wouldn't pass smog just by looking at it and said he will charge $300 to make it pass. I declined. He said he can make it fail and the State would give me $1500 for the car. He took my car in his shop and said he needed to check something. I did not give this crooked guy permission to do a test. I took it to another location and they did a smog and they saw I had a failed test earlier and so they could not help me because it would raise a red flag for their company. They told me my car would pass. So this asshole at AC smog fucked my shit up. He didn't even tell me he was doing a test and he sent it to the state. He failed me on purpose . However, I am very glad I did because the costumer service was wonderful and everything was done quickly. Out of all the smog stations I have been to he has the most reasonable price. He has a lot of experience in this field it only took 20 minutes for him to get the job done.
