I had a unit at this location for MANY years. Recently found out that new rates were a lot cheaper, and so are rates at storage competitors in the area. I asked the person in their office if I could get a better rate and that I would be willing to change units if needed. I was told NO. So I informed him that I would be moving out before next payment due date. I did move out, however my charge card was used for the upcoming month. I have disputed the charge and wait to see if I get my money back. I returned to the office to see what was going on and the same person I dealt with a few days earlier did not remember me canceling account, and I was told that he was unable to check their system to try and determine where the error was. Very unprofessional and was not helpful at all. I have since found another storage and will save $70 per month. read more

I render to unit 7 months ago the management team then was great! I ran out of room a my moving truck and had 3 boxes laughed and then and October I'd received a notice that they put a lock on my unit and it was still occupied and they were still charging me even though I sent my notice to vacate in July on the 21st . What I reach out to the current manager Connie she is a condescending pain in my a** who went so far as to tell me that they are open 9 to 5 and she corrected to say that is 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. like I am Incapable of understanding the concept of 9 to 5 . read more

very poor experience. The manger fraudulently wants to charge you when already have informed them that u do not want to continue with the storage 5 days prior to the month end. I had emptied my storage before the month start but I forgot to throw the trash with may be a box left. I found out later that I need to throw the trash so yes since thats my mistake I would have happily thrown the trash but Manager told me on the 7th day of the new month that I need to throw the trash but the bill not be prorated. First why was I not informed earlier if the trash was such an issue. The manager then confirmed that the storage is open and I come throw the trash away. I went that same day, drove an hour to throw the trash and what I find is that the storage is locked. When I asked the manager why it is locked after they told me it's unlocked, they just responded with a page in the contract saying they have the right to lock up an open storage whenever they want. Why waste my time and have me drive and not communicate? They want me to pay for a whole month and empty the trash. I was willing to throw the trash but not willing to pay the whole month. so brutal :( read more

I have been very pleased with AMS. I have never doubted my property was safe and clean. Access was very convenient as well. I've used other self-storage companies and hadn't realized how unprofessional the others were until I switched. At my previous rental (I'll withhold the name since this review is not about them) my property was covered in dirt from the roll up door spreading its layer of outside dirt being flung into the unit every time I opened it. The only person I ever experienced with this company to have ANY decent customer service skills was Candy in the office on location. The rest of the company including the staff that answers the phone for the corporate office, are downright rude and lack any and all people skills. I am in the process of vacating my unit right now simply because they are so hateful and condescending on the phone. Definitely would recommend public storage or any other services nearby in Arlington, Kennedale or Mansfield. read more

Recently sold my storage contents to a friend. My friend wanted to sign up at American Mini Storage with their 2 month discount advertised rate. The management said that the contents of the current space would have to be removed then put back in to get the discount. My friend said if he removed the contents he would take his business to a competitor. They said that's what you'll have to do or he could just vacate. What sane business person sends a tenant to a competitor? Now they have a vacancy. The owners can never make up for a loss of revenue do to ignorance. Hard to believe. read more

Beware of bait-and-switch! I signed up here at the beginning of the year and received three months free via an internet special. At the end of the fourth month, I receive a letter in the mail stating my rent was increasing 30%! I had made my decision to use this place instead of others not only because it was close to my house, but also because of the price. Needless to say, I was very dis-pleased with such a large increase right after I had joined them, and called immediately to figure out why. I was told the increase was mainly due to supply and demand. Do you think they will lower your rent when the demand is low? I called corporate office to no avail as well, and was basically told the same thing. I can understand a $5 or even maybe a $10 increase or at least maybe this amount after a couple of years or so...but this was ridiculous. I was extremely frustrated...gave my 10-day notice and got my stuff out right away. It was a total waste of my time and money. read more
