Wayne and Jordan set the bar!
Michael B.

Instant awesome evening experience sitting at the bar with friends and family. Wayne was the bartender and absolutely went above and beyond for the evening. Will be back for sure!

Nice pool but was heavily chlorinated with strong fumes

Really enjoyed my stay here with the exception of the pool being heavily chlorinated during the very hot week I was here and the unfriendly bartender who had no personality and said that the guest is not always right. From my iniital visit to the Bar and subsequent visits during my stay, he hardly smiled even when I said hello by his name on his name tag after my initial interaction on my first day. His body language and attitude conveyed that he really didn't want to be at work and observed that he would talk with the other bartender without a simple acknowledgement hat he would be right with me. JC on the other hand was very pleasant and after ordering initial drink he remembered and asked if I wanted the same thing from the night before. Asian gal who checked me in behind the desk along with the other females working the day shift were friendly and always acknowledged me as a guest. Night Auditor was not as personable as I would see him each day early in the morning and would not say "have a great day." I'm being generous with four stars but the hotel is nice, modern, clean and convenient to the Scottsdale Fashion Mall, Old Town and where I needed to visit for work. Probably would stay here again sans that terrible bartender who hopefully will move on to another hotel bar.

We recently had a staycation at this hotel and were so impressed! We were able to secure an early check-in, the front desk staff were very kind and professional. The hotel is beautiful, trendy, and gives a "boutique" vibe, perfect for the area! It's also really clean! Modern furniture, cute decor, and just really welcoming. We spent several hours at the pool, which was also clean with lounge chairs and towels, very quiet. Eventually they played music, which was the best but it was fine. Our downfall to the pool experience is that the bar wasn't open for most of the best pool hours! It closes at 11am and reopens at 4pm and we were definitely hoping to enjoy a few cocktails poolside. We did get to enjoy the bar later in the evening, with Wayne making us some delicious margaritas. We saw some of the food coming out and it looked pretty good too. Our only disappointment for food was the $18 breakfast buffet which was really nothing more than hard boiled eggs, some cut up deli meat (like turkey), and some fruit. Our room was clean and had a gorgeous view! However the beds were exceptionally hard. Check out was super easy; would definitely go again and recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing vibe in the Biltmore area.

Very nice hotel in a nice area. The lobby was modern and they had fresh fruit infused water at the desk daily. My room could have been cleaner. I look for very clean hotels and this one had hair in the bathroom and in the room. The hair could have been from the staff but I have OCD and so I am sensitive when it comes to cleanliness. Also, the toilet seat doesn't extend to the same length of the toilet so when sitting part of your leg will be on the part of the toilet that is there when you lift the seat. The shower floor could also use a good power wash as it was a little stained. We didn't use any of the amenities as we were there for a funeral but they had a bar and a pool. My son went down for breakfast one morning but wasn't interested in the menu so we chose to eat off the property the two mornings we were there. The mattress was harder than I like. I was shocked at how hard they were but I am new to Marriott, I have been a long standing rewards member for a competitor brand and I must say I prefer the mattresses they have. Also they need better lighting in the bathroom. It was very dim and that's hard when trying to get ready. The morning we were leaving we were awoken by a loud bang on the window. When we looked, a bird had committed suicide and left a good amount of residue on the window so we closed it. That is no fault of the hotel, but seeing as tho we were there to bury one of my Parents, that did make us a bit emotional. All in all, the hotel was nice. The view was Amazing. No

Safe, fridge with 2 complimentary waters, coffee and tea options

Well this place certainly caught me off guard. I did a "day-use" stay, and was still treated like a customer who was doing a full stay. I liked how clean everything was. And the 2 complimentary waters were quite nice. The site was well maintained, and had a nice bar in the lobby. What put me off to 3-stars was that they were practically trying to get rid of me at my end time stay. With a "day-stay" you have a checkout time of a certain time. Which in this case was 5pm. And literally at 5pm on the dot, someone who works at the site (not the cleaning people), barged right into my room after 1 knock. If someone stays beyond the time, I recommend you charge them for it. Not barge in to someone's room and potentially cause a "life changing accident". But on a good note, nothing happened. I think that individual just needs better training on privacy and the laws that follow. In the end, I don't think I'd consider an overnight stay here. It is nice, but the lack of consideration to privacy is a huge let down for me.

Great hotel!

Ambiance: The lobby is modern, very open and sleek. There is a bar/food area within the lobby area. They have some breakfast items in the morning and coffee for guests. Customer Service: Excellent, professional, and courteous Rooms: I was on the 3rd floor, my view was the street, cars passing by. The room was very clean, modern looking and roomy. The bathroom had a shower, I'm not a fan of the large shampoo conditioner pumps that all the guests staying in that room use, but that's what they have in the shower. The vanity area was roomy enough for toiletries. The only thing missing was a lighted magnifying mirror, as a traveling business women bathroom lighting for makeup is essential. Slept comfortably on the bed and despite being on the street side, it was quiet. Area/Neighborhood: Location was in the middle of lots of great shopping and restaurants and close to fwys. I would stay here again. Price:$401 per night with tax

JC at the bar made us feel very welcome. We ended up having dinner at the bar and it was wonderful. JC was so full of wonderful recommendations for the food items. Extremely pleased with his service! That's the good. The bad is very bad. The beds are horrifically hard. The pillows are awful as well. Very very disappointing. The noise levels are were bad and the walls were quite thin. We checked out at 1:30am and dove 6 hours home. It was impossible to stay in that room. Do yourself a favor and book another place.

On my impromptu weekend getaway to Phoenix, I ended up staying at this hotel for the night. I got into town late, which was no problem as there was plenty of parking and plenty of rooms available for the night. I noticed that this area was clean and safe. After getting settled in, I went out and met up with my friend. We were able to hit up Scottsdale for a bit before coming back and calling it a night. My room was spacious, clean, modern, and comfortable. I was able to get a good night sleep, and woke up feeling refreshed. Downstairs at the lobby, I noticed that I had woken up late and narrowly missed breakfast hours. I just proceeded to check out, and I'd grab breakfast out in town. I give this hotel five stars. In part, it made the long drive between LA and Phoenix worth the drive. The accommodations were nice, and the staff were friendly.

The property is beautiful to walk around, with all the landscaping, flowers and trees; some of them are marked with what kind of plant they are. There are century plants and aloe and various cacti. The fitness center is located at the spa. It has windows which open up onto the pool, which is a more private pool than the main pool. The staff is outstanding. Savannah, who ran the front desk on my most recent visit, is absolutely amazing and really helped with any questions or small issues with my stay. The restaurant is wonderful for the hotel breakfast. I recommend having cocktails there too. You can see a beautiful sunset from the bar. I love the open design of this hotel resort because it makes you feel like you're in the countryside and you can admire the beautiful views of Camelback as you walk around the grounds and hear birds chirping. It's so relaxing. Parking is easy and you can usually find a spot right outside your casita room as the parking circles the hotel. Toiletries in the room smell so good! Lavender with sea salt. It's really like staying in a spa! One of my favorite experiences at this hotel was taking a late afternoon outdoor class at the spa/gym on the large lawn where we did stretching/light resistance training with the the sunset behind Camelback Mountain as the backdrop. It was glorious. I definitely recommend trying one of the classes or "experiences" if you stay here. Some of them you have to pay extra for, but a few of them are included with your room rate. At first glance the hotel interiors and architecture seem extremely simple and minimal, but then you realize it's actually all a piece of mid-century modern inspired art. It's really fun to walk around and admire all the understated design details at this hotel.

We opted not to do this and am hoping to find available 'free' chairs provided with the resort fee. 3. Ice cream is another issue, 3 cups of Dippy Dots (picture attached) was $38.00, not including tip. It's a nice hotel but the cost to be at the hotel once you arrive is crazy... consider this before booking, I haven't ordered the prerequisite chicken fingers yet that come with every hotel stay. We received great customer service here and were satisfied with our room. The lazy river is relaxing and there are so many pools and the resort is clean. We were allowed early check in which was wonderful after a 5 hour drive. So why the 3 stars? We ordered a couple of pizzas, chicken wings and a couple of beers at the food place, at the pool, located by the water slides. The guy who rang us up was friendly, but when we came to close out, he told me gratuity was automatic and to just sign for it (I was charging it to my room). I asked him "gratuity is automatic? " He said yes. I didn't think much of it and signed for it and got my receipt and went on about my day. But as I was looking at my receipt, it gave me a gratuity option at the bottom, which made me realize gratuity should not have been automatic. I confirmed with the front desk that gratuity is up to the customer. She did credit my room for the amount of the gratuity that he gave himself. In the end, it is not about the gratuity because I was going to tip him regardless. For me, it's the principal.

Again I tipped 25% My phone has text alert and I noticed the bill was $42.62 for what should have been $22.00 max I bought it to my bar tenders attention and she was working things out on the registry and came back with a receipt that didn't have prices just my order but she had added 1 extra beer. I told her it was wrong and she said it wasn't that the first time she had only charged me for 2 beers and this was my third beer. I did not want to argue so I left it at that but I couldn't sleep thinking about it. I mean dang I even tipped her good. The next day I reached out. To management I don't mind taking care of my servers and I'm always a good tipper. But I don't like being taken advantage of because they think I had a few drinks. Or they think I won't notice extra things. This is not okay. The hotel you check into is supposed to be a safe place like home to enjoy a drink or two. The management offered to refund the first bill of 52.18. But I told him I just wanted what I was over charged refunded plus my tips. At this point I feel she had the chance to correct my bill and make things right but she chose to make me feel like I was in the wrong. After the manager added my first bill up after I told him what I had ordered it turns out she charged 4 beers the first time and not just my 3 and way over charged me the second time. This is a great place to stay but keep an eye on what you order. More so late at night. Also my hot wings were cold in the center but I didn't even mention it to her at the time. As a solo traveler who had just made that drive, being able to walk straight to a room and crash was everything. He took a few minutes to catch me up on what had changed since my last stay; the breakfast situation being the highlight of that conversation, which turned out to be... relevant. The next morning, after a rough experience at breakfast, I mentioned something at the front desk and Donna, the front-end manager, stepped in immediately, not defensively, but genuinely wanting to understand what happened and make it right. That kind of accountability is rare. Saturday night brought a similar hiccup at the bar, and Sayan handled it the same way: professionally, without hesitation. The room was exactly what I've come to expect from Kimpton, clean, comfortable, and well-appointed. But the real story here is the staff outside the restaurant.
