I've used Yelp for many years to find restaurants and service providers. The reviews have been a good indicator of good service. This is the second time in the last month I've found a service provider that has been very unpleasant to deal with and bad results despite their results. I suspect they have fake reviews. I trust Yelp has tools to review and eliminate good reviews that might be questionable. When their employee told me what the problem and the solution was, I asked for the quote. He said that his boss would give me the quote later. I only received a bill after 5PM. I responded that I would pay as soon as possible. I was at work until late. The woman who owns the business texted me at 10 PM requesting payment. That untimely text woke me up... We paid her the next day when we had a chance. Once paid she said: "we recommend you hire a pool service" she refused to acknowledge what her employee said... her employee said that he could get a new pump and just install it. That was the diagnosis. New pump. We can but a new pump hoping their diagnosis is good. But she just chooses to change the narrative. We all heard about fake reviews. Finding a good electrician is hard! I am soooo happy I found Lugo. He came the first day I requested a quote. He was professional, transparent, straight forward, and solution driven. My electrical panel is a mess. My house was built in the 80s and it's outdated. I bought a hot tub for outdoors and needed a dedicated line outside. He had to install an additional breaker because there was no more space on the panel. He managed to do this through a side closet without making holes on my wall, he went through the roof between the first and second floor and took the dedicated line outside. The work is impecable!!! I hired AC ACE for a number of electrical upgrades / repairs in my townhome on Miami Beach. I had another electrician come by in late 2019 to start repairs...and then they never came back to finish the rest of the job. Immediately after requesting a quote from another provider on Yelp that unfortunately couldn't service my area, Jen responded and we set up a time for a free quote the next morning. Much to my surprise, Jen followed up the next morning and the electricians were early for the appointment. The electricians were super polite and took off their shoes, which was super respectful and much appreciated. We went through my haunted house of electrical disaster and he was super meticulous in checking all my outlets and switches. I had a great experience from start to finish with these guys. When requesting a quote, I got an answer within an hour or so, and they were also able to send out electricians within a day or two. I had a simple issue (some double-tap wiring), and they fixed it for $80 when many other places gave estimates of $250-$300. I paid to get a tankless water heater connected. I was quoted $350 to $550. After A/C Ace technician assessed the work and cost of supplies, price went up to $750. It was the holidays, and they were doing me a favor by responding on short notice - I agreed. However, when they left AC stopped working and when they were alerted, they said it was "coincidence"...a fuse had blown - they asked for $150. I let it slide because AC is serviced by someone else I trust. I didn't challenge the "coincidence" story. Told them I would be in touch once plumber fitted the heater in case there were problems. Yusliedi said, "You're welcome. No further electrical work should be needed but sure keep me posted". Plumber installed heater where he said he would...wires were too short...he asked to call the electrician back. Called Yusleidi, she said it would cost $420 to send someone out to connect the heater. I said it was poor business practice to not stand by one's work, or finish it. She said she was paid to install a circuit breaker and wires. I still have no hot water - only a blown AC fuse, and wires in a closet to show for it. Now she says she'll charge me $150 only for the visit to finish the job I imagined I had already paid for. I had 2 quotes for $705 and $825 fully installed but I chose her because I saw a review from someone on Yelp she had helped over Thanksgiving. I wanted to reward THAT type of business. Huge mistake on my part. I would definitely not do business with her again, and encourage everyone reading this not to. A/C Ace was a complete dud. If competence, quality, and integrity are important to you, do not take your chances with A/C Ace. Only a matter of time before there's more reviews like mine given how they chose to fix the problem.
