Unfortunately, I had a terrible experiencence with this company. My hot water heater was continuously tripping a breaker so I had these guys come over to investigate. They told me I need to re-run a heavier amp wire to the heater and quoted $2000 to run the new wire. As a temporary fix, they cut a couple of inches off the damaged current wire and reconnected it to a new fuse. They charged $695 to do that - about 40 minutes of work. To be fair - they did discuss the price with me and I approved it and paid it immediately after the work was completed. Afterwards, I realized how crazy it was (in my view) to charge almost $700 to simply cut a few inches of wire and reconnect a fuse. I called the owner (Charlie) to politely express my concern that I had paid too much. He immediately became defensive and aggressive and end up swearing at me and hanging up. The technician who came was good and polite but I would NEVER consider using them again. Before buying a new home in Kendal we hired a $400 professional home inspection. He looked at all the household systems and passed them with very few issues listed beyond very obvious things a layman would see. I hired Carlos to install an outlet under my new sink for the garbage disposal. He came right out the next day and did a great job. After working there we walked the house and he showed me what needed to be done to get the house up to code. He helped trouble shoot "ghost lights" that were turning on and off. He also installed a new LED waterproof light for the shower. All the work was done quickly and right the first time. My wife loved the fact that he was so courteous and cleaned up the work area completely. I have had Carlos back three times to move other outlets for new appliances and to redo the 220 volt wiring for both AC units. The mental conduit was rusted, the wire was exposed and on the ground and it could be very dangerous in the wet season. The next day I had issues with the AC unit and Carlos walked me thru the troubl shooting over the phone. When that didn't work he was out at 9 AM Sunday morning to recheck his work. My experience could not have been better. I called several electricians, including one recommended by my condominium association. This was the only one that I got through to a real person right away who I could talk to and who even had a sense of humor! And instead of telling me that I had to wait a week if I didn't want to pay a higher rate (which the others did, if they even returned my call), I got a promise that they would come by the same day, at basically the same rate that the others would have charged if I had been willing to wait until the following week. Then, they showed up as promised. My issue turned out to be that the electricity to my A/C had been cut off by the A/C unit itself as a safety measure, and rather than just fix it, which they immediately did (so I paid only the minimum fee), they then went beyond the call by telling me what I could do in the future for the issue so that I would save money and service calls by managing it myself. Having chosen this business based upon their excellent reviews on yelp I feel the need to clear the 5 star expectation. First of all I called on a Friday, early afternoon, and left a message, got a call back the same day in the afternoon and was told that they would be able to come by on Tuesday to look at the multiple electrical problems and given an estimate. Andy arrived right on time, quoted us a set fee for a installing a new light fixture in a room without an electrical output as well as fixing an outdoor output that seemed to stop working. And a $65 hourly fee for all other electrical problems. My cons: He installed the new ceiling electrical and proceeded to fix the outdoor plug, which turned out was working after he moved a few things around. He didn't take that into consideration and still charged the full $280. So, I basically payed that amount for the new wiring installation and to have someone take some screws out of the wall. Second, he started working by the hour and fixed numerous things, which went pretty smoothly, until he got to the kitchen. Apparently he didn't have a piece he needed to fix it, the ballast, he ran out to pick one up from his "boss" it took him an hour. I asked my husband when he left if he was paying him for the time he was gone and he said he never mentioned anything and that he was sure he couldn't possibly be charged for him not having a part, since he was working by the hour he could have come by the next day. (To which I rolled my eyes to and told him he should have made that clear with him before he left, because fixing the kitchen lighting delay wasn't a priority to me) Anyways it took him a total of an hour to come back. And I know it was that long because I timed it (lol) and comes back with the wrong ballast. He has to run out again, and than mentions "don't worry this isn't coming out of your pocket" to which I think "the previous hour it took you to get the wrong ballast does?" Anyways I told my husband you practically paid this guy $65 to take lunch, did I mention he left around lunchtime??? Lol and "let's see if it takes him an hour this time"... Sure enough it didn't; he was back in 20, and I know because I timed it lol. He had to come by the next day to finish the job anyways. The next day wasn't any better. Third, he came over with the wrong fluorescent and charged my husband for buying the WRONG color. When my husband told him to return he said "I already opened so I can't." What?? I wish all businesses were fair because we just don't know how to deal with scum baggy actions like these other than to feel ACKWARD!! Fourth, and last thing was we didn't pay him 65 dollars for have lunch we payed him $75. Apparently he miss quoted us with their standard hourly fee so he doesn't know why he would have said $65, but that he was deeply sorry, if it meant anything to us, sincerely. Needless to say it didn't. Saddest part, I had a quote from another electrician to fix all problems at a set price and went with these guys because they were "cheaper" in the end they weren't.
