I expect to spend a few hundred a year in maintenance to keep my unit in good condition but it's difficult to get honest communications from RCI. Often not called back, estimates that never come and they make you feel like a nuisance for calling even after waiting weeks for a call back. I have left positive online reviews in the past, tipped my service technicians and promptly paid my invoices.

I…read morewent to DC early this year and in the US Capitol... there is a hall of statutes where the different states put a statute of those they feel made the most impact to the state and the US, Florida has John Gorrie the father of refrigeration and the A/C... yeah that's about right.... I swear you can't live in this state especially in South Florida without either of the two. About two weeks ago I was working from home and noticed my home was getting progressively hotter to the point that in the afternoon my home was 85 degrees. I knew my a/c was shot because that is definitely not normal. I hopped on Angie's List at approximately 1:30 to quickly find an A/C technician. I messaged one and they said an A/C technician would come in 3 hours... wow that's quick... I thought it would be a day or two to send someone out. Guy came and looked over my A/C.... my condenser coils were frozen... he said it would first need to defrost for a day before he can get in there and see what's wrong. Obviously I wasn't going to deal with sweltering heat so I booked a room at a nearby hotel. The next day after it defrosted he came by and fixed my a/c and I began again to feel the wonderful cool goodness of a/c.... ahhhhhh brisk! If you need A/C repair call these guys!

They sent a second technician out who couldn't figure out the problem, so he charged us an extra $289 to clean a drain line. Even after clearing the drain, the AC still didn't work. Magically, after he called the first technician to consult, the system suddenly started running again. It is painfully obvious that something was tripped or mishandled during the first visit to manufacture a breakdown, allowing them to bill us for unnecessary work. To top it all off, they are fighting a legitimate credit card dispute. Shady tactics, unneeded charges, and terrible accountability. Avoid this company.

I was given the choice of three estimates which were way out of my price range and told the guy would need to call somebody else to get another estimate. The estimates were anywhere from the cheapest of $1500. Approx to over $3000. I was totally shocked as my unit is not that old and was told that the motherboard was not sending signals to the compressor to turn on and if they replace the motherboard, it still may not send the signal and then I would have to replace my compressor also. I called another company that was also recommended to me and a technician within 10 minutes found the problem to be a $240 capacitor, which was changed in less than a half an hour and I had air again!! I can't imagine a company trying to rip off somebody buy so much money and completely miss diagnosing, a simple problem and trying and turning it into a huge disaster! I would never recommend this company. They are completely dishonest or maybe it was just the person they sent here.

They're super professional and actually honor their warranty. I called them again today because of this Miami cold snap, and Daniel was a total lifesaver. He was at my place within hours and figured out the issue right away. Turns out, it wasn't even my unit--it was a problem with the building's cooling tower. Daniel literally went out of his way to talk to the building manager and the tech team to get it sorted. Nelson Air Concepts is a household name in our family for about 10 years now.  Nelson (Sr.) started…read moreout as someone who my mom called to remedy her AC problems and he would be show up as promised. And when her AC finally bit the dust, my mom shopped around for several quotes.  And naturally, she found that Nelson provided the most honest and practical advise.  As a result, Nelson replaced my mother's AC.  He moved the old unit from the attic, where no one could ever access it, down to a closet that is easily accessible for my tiny mother.  Over the years, Nelson not only took care of my mother's unit, but also my sister's and eventually my unit.  He and his son are busy people. What I appreciate the most is that when I call, even if they don't answer, they return my call everytime shortly after.  Nelson Sr. arrives as promised.
