This time, though, they missed the mark. They charged me for a brand new motor, but it didn't fix the problem, and once it didn't work, they stopped responding to my texts entirely. I ended up finding someone else who diagnosed the actual issue right away and fixed it properly. I had to replace our ice maker in our Whirlpool refrigerator. Ike arrived on time with an assistant. He took out the old unit after testing (to see if it could be repaired). He replaced it with a new unit and cleaned the freezer space as well as vacuumed the coils in the back of the fridge and tested the connections to make sure there.were no leaks. I was very impressed and his charges were reasonable. I recommended him to a neighbor and they were equally pleased. I highly recommend his services. read more

We thought our washing machine was leaking, but when Esteban and Henri got here, they tested the washer, and it was fine, but discovered the water we found on the floor was because the freezer drain was clogged. * STAY AWAY FROM THIS COMPANY * I had an extremely disappointing experience with this company. I called them for what should have been a straightforward heating element replacement on my dryer. Unfortunately, after the technician's repair, my dryer went from needing a single part replaced to being completely nonfunctional. After the new heating element was installed, the dryer started to overheat and shut off, something it had never done before. The technician tried troubleshooting by repeatedly running the dryer, which resulted in blown fuses and more issues. He insisted the overheating was due to a clogged vent, but no blockage was found. Now, the dryer displays an error code, makes odd noises, fills the room with a burning smell, and simply will not start. Despite paying for the repair, the dryer is worse than before, and I have not received a response from the company on how they plan to resolve this. The lack of accountability and poor communication are unacceptable. I would NEVER EVER recommend this service to anyone. read more

i paid $300 to have my dryer fixed - they sent over a new guy who had no idea what he was doing - another guy had to show up, he replaced the pulley, 2 wheels, and thermal fuse.. the dryer sounded worse than ever - then it stopped working after 22 days, they didnt want to honor their "30 day" warranty and wanted to charge me a other $200 dollars for the same work they had already done - total scam. The spring on our dishwasher broke, so the door becomes very heavy and we have to be very careful opening and closing it as the door will drop down with a bang if it isn't completely closed. Not that it affects the working of the machine, but it's a nuisance. I went online, saw some videos on how to repair it - it is a simple matter of replacing a flimsy string of cord. But doing no DIYers, we decided to call Mike for help. As all the other reviewers attest to, Mike and his staff came duly and checked on the machine. Parts are too expensive and hard to get. Which is exactly what I experienced 3 years ago with another repair company recommended by True. I had a broken switch sensor. It took 3 months to repair. At first everything started well. He told me exactly what I should expect from his visit and that he charged $85 up front wether or not it could be fixed. He came by and thankfully it was something that could be fixed. He said he would have to order the part and would charge extra for coming back after receiving the part. I'm not sure why charge extra to come back as it shouldn't be the customer's fault he doesn't carry it, but I accepted. Part came in and he fixed the issue. I wasn't there when he charged my father. He charged him $20 more than agreed on. I don't understand what was the point of charging more when he was already adding charges for coming back. Is it really worth being dishonest and sneaking a tiny $20 and losing a customer? Plus risking a negative review. I messaged him about it and noticed he checked it but didn't respond. So take what you will from this experience. I left two stars because he did fix the issue. Can't say it was earned but he certainly made his money. read more

Esteban, Mike's son, came to inspect our air handler. We suspected that something wasn't working properly because there appeared to be mold growing on the plenum and there was a musty smell coming from the intake box. Esteban scheduled an appointment with us for the weekend and he arrived a few minutes before our appointment (super appreciated that!). He proceeded to diagnose the issues and offer us multiple options. We decided to go with some cleaning and resealing of the unit and acid washing the coils. He showed us that the air box was in very good shape and the blower was clean. He also checked the levels of freon and explained to us where the levels should be, we were close. When the air handler was installed four years ago it was installed in such a way that maintenance would be challenging. Esteban went ahead and removed what was necessary to access the coils and drip pan to clean them. He explained what products he was using to clean them and why/how he was doing it. After cleaning and putting everything back together he added a little bit of freon and sealed a small leak in the plenun... going above and beyond. AC is blowing very cold and the musty smell is gone. Will definitely call them again next time an appliance begins to act up. read more

I had an A/C guy for a long time, then (as it normally happens) we had a disagreement and I started searching for a new one. Thanks to Yelp I found Mike's A/C & Appliance Repairs. I used him around a year ago for my home AC, it was spot on! Then I scheduled a maintenance visit for a rented apartment, that was perfect too, and now he checked my home watcher (Samsung) and recommend me to buy a new one instead of throwing over $500 in repairs. As I write this review he is also checking the rented apartment watcher that had problems last weekend, by the symptoms he things it should be a quick and easy fix. For the past few months I've had issues with my AC leaking and freezing over. The first AC technician did a shoddy job that left our AC with more problems than it initially had. We had another technician come in and take a look, he mostly just fixed pipes that weren't installed correctly and a sensor, but he didn't really take the time to actually troubleshoot and see what was wrong. Yesterday, I gave Esteban a call and he was headed over within 4 hours. He came in, checked the unit, troubleshoot a few key factors, and within an hour he found out the solution. Although the company doesn't service my area (I am too far away, and I truly am), Esteban was so generous as to take the time to explain to me how to change the vent direction on my microwave. Home Depot, unfortunately, installed my replacement microwave incorrectly and now I am stuck having to fix it myself. Esteban was kind, patient and walked me step by step through the process. He even offered that I could call him if I had any problems. Further, Esteban even suggested what I should check out on you tube if I needed additional help. Mike completed the repair of my dryer today. I called Mike yesterday after reviewing all of the Positive Reviews. He promptly returned my call within 30-40 mins. He later texted me his ETA for the next day. He arrived on time and got right to work and completed the repair within an hours' time, if that. He also removed the lint build up in the unit. Checked the outside vent line to make sure it was not clogged and I was getting full discharge. And his Repair Cost was SO REASONABLE. Thank you Mike! He is very respectful, punctual, extremely knowledgeable, works at a great pace and his is very reasonable when it comes to charges.
