My house has always been very, very hot. My wife can't stand the heat. Bad combination. Cooling this house has been my dream and most fervent desire as a husband, but it was an impossible dream. No matter what I did, who I hired, how much cash I threw at the problem, the A/C's just could not keep up. This past summer, the thermostat started climbing up to 80 inside and my A/C was running at full blast, 24 hours a day, burning through $1,000 a month in electricity and I still had a sweaty, angry wife - not to mention two daughters close behind. In total frustration, we decided to try a new company and landed on Coolest. Mike came over and I immediately was astonished. He was so professional, courteous . . . I'm not sure he knows that he is in Miami as an A/C guy. Comparing him to the surly, sullen, downright angry folks I've worked with in the past, it was night and day. As he walked me around my house and explained to me why it was hot and how he could make it cool, I started to believe. I was mad at myself for believing because I had believed before and I was still sweating inside my house. But he really seemed to know what he was talking about. So I went all in - two new variable speed units and brand new custom ducts. Like I told him, he was married to my house now. If it didn't cool, well, there was no one to blame but him :) During the design process for the ducts, he explained how every inch of it would work and why it was the best choice. I love that stuff (I like to understand things) and it made perfect sense to hear him discuss air flow. When the time came to actually do the work, my wife had a medical emergency that landed her in surgery and was confined to bed. As hard as that was, it was made worse because we were stuck at my mother's house! Oh no! Mike was diligently working all day and into the night, but I pleaded with him to somehow work faster to get us out of my mom's house and back home where my wife could really recover. Man, did he come through, He went fast and got it done right. We came home in the dead of summer to a house sitting pretty at 70 degrees. Remember, I literally couldn't get it to 78 in the middle of the night prior. As I write this, 6 months later, I've kept it at 69 degrees for weeks and the A/C's aren't breaking a sweat. This is thanks to his brilliant duct design. So, I owed him a review not because he's the nicest damn guy I've ever had the pleasure to host in my house (even though he is); not because I felt completely comfortable leaving him in my home alone for days (even though I did, and would); I owed him this review because my house is COLD and it started at MISERABLE. We all finally feel like this is our home, the place where we all are most comfortable. I love my A/C's, I love my ducts, and I love Coolest Air Conditioning. This review starts with the treatment I got from some OTHER company so you can see how good Coolest Air is. Other Company: A few weeks ago my AC started blowing warm air, so I called someone else who was recommended to me. He started changing parts without telling me what he was doing or how much it would cost. After he finished, I was the one who had to ask him how much it was. $400! Whether it was a fair price or not, he should have given me an estimate for such a high amount. The outside unit started working agin, but I could feel it was not blowing cold enough. He only measured the air coming out of a vent one time, and it was not very cold. I don't remember how cold it was, but even I knew it wasn't enough. He gave me some dumb story about having to wait 24 hours before knowing if it was cold enough. For the next few days, the AC ran for hours just to get to 79 when it would normally be able to get to 76 in a short time. I called him back and he said he put more "freon" into it, but he said there was a limit to what he could put in. Then he said that if it didn't help he that I would need to change the compressor because it was old He suggested I replace the entire outside unit because it was not cost effective to only change the compressor. Of course, what he did (if anything) didn't help. He called me a day later with an estimate of some really cheap brand I had never heard of, which had bad reviews. No thanks, I've had enough of you. I felt really burned paying so much AND THE AC STILL DIDN'T WORK RIGHT. Another company I called never even called me back! Coolest Air Conditioning: I briefly explained my situation to the woman who answered my call. She got Danny and some other guy (I think, I'm bad with names), to come out in about an hour. While they were outside, the owner called me from the office and told me what they thought the problem was and HOW MUCH IT WOULD COST, before they did anything. They though it just needed more freon. If it didn't respond then he explained what other steps they may need to take. They said they would not charge for the freon if that was not the problem and they had to take other steps. They added the gas and kept testing to see if it was working. They measured the air coming right out of the unit and a few vents several times to confirm this. It worked. They said the compressor was fine, and it's been fine ever since. Coolest Air Conditioning were quick to respond and explained what they were going to do and how much it would cost EVERY STEP of the way. I highly recommend. read more

Coolest AC sets the bar for its industry in that they provide great service and they are great people. My AC decided to cut out late one afternoon this week leaving me with sweltering Miami summer heat inside the house. Mike from Coolest took my phone call late in the evening on Tuesday and walked me through the troubleshooting process for the various user serviceable parts that could lead to the AC not working (circuit breakers, cutoff switches, etc.). We identified the problem part, an easy replacement, but realized it was too late in the evening to do anything about it since it had to be ordered from a local supply house. The replacement was left for the next day and shortly after open of business the next morning Ana from Coolest's office team had already set a plan in motion to get me the part so I could avoid the hottest part of the day without AC. The best part of it was since it was a simple part replacement, they didn't charge me for the service call the night before and the legwork to get me the replacement the next day. To the point of great people, Coolest took the opportunity to help me without trying to make a quick buck in the process; meaning they're not fast buck Freddies by any means. To the point of great service, they quickly identified the problem and walked me through getting it solved, meaning they're really good at what they do. Simply put, coolest does the right thing! After the service Mike and his team at Coolest provided today, they are the only A.C. company I will ever deal with in South Florida. We had THREE different A.C. companies come to our house and try to force a new system on us, even though we told them repeatedly we just bought our house and could not afford it. They said the compressor was bad, and it would never run again... That's where Mike and Coolest A.C. comes in. They were referred to us by 2 of our neighbors who said they were honest, on time, and got the job done. So we called today, Mike, the owner, answered the phone himself which was good sign #1. Good sign #2 was that he showed up 1.5 hrs later, right on time. Early actually, as he gave us a 2 hr. window. After about 15 minutes working on the unit, our air came back on! As it turns out, all our unit needed was a capacitor! All the other companies tried to high pressure us into a new system we could not afford. Mike came out and got that baby running in no time flat! He charged a perfectly reasonable amount to come out and fix our stuff on a Saturday afternoon, & didnt try any high pressure sales b.s. We were so impressed we also signed up for a maintainence agreement so we know we'll always be taken care of! And when we are ready to replace Coolest will be our guys! It is no secret that the summer months in Miami are extremely hot. It is very important to have a reliable air conditioner in your home and an A/C technician. A few days ago, a storm was projected to gain strength and cross South Florida. In preparation for this natural disaster my family and I had been out most of the day, so we went out for dinner and returned home around 10 P.M. As we walked in the house and put the kids to sleep, we realized how terribly hot it was. I looked at my wife and shook my head as a sign of distress because we weren't sure who to call and how quickly the issue would be resolved. I searched the internet and contacted five local companies, three haven't returned my call, one responded the following morning (Sunday) at 8 A.M. to let me know that my address was out of their jurisdiction and they couldn't help me. Don't waste any more time searching and call Coolest if you're looking for honest service and fair prices in Miami Dade. I called several of the companies listed in the top here on Yelp for air conditioning service. I had one of the other companies with more reviews come out first for an estimate on coil cleaning. They were almost two hours late and they tried to tell me that my condenser coil had too much corrosion to be cleaned and that I should replace my condenser and handler. I called Coolest after they left and they had their technician Danny at my house in a half hour. Danny told me that my coils were completely fine and the little bit of corrosion would not affect them being cleaned whatsoever. Their price to clean both the condenser coil and the handler coil was the same as the competitor's price to just clean the handler coil and now my air conditioning is working much better. Danny even added a pipe to my handler for free that I can pour bleach into to clean the drain pan occasionally. Coolest is a very honest company, they easily could have hoaxed me into trying to replace my entire system like the first company but did not! Look no further! read more

I was dealing with an old struggling Goodman unit since I moved into this house about a year ago. Homeowners had their own AC guy which I addressed everytime there was an issue with the AC. Long story short, money has been wasted with this guy for a while now and I finally got tired of his butcher work and decided to find a company to check this unit out and tell me what was going on. Mike came and told me right off the bat that this unit was really low on freon, hooked up his equipment, recharged the unit and injected a dye in the system to circulate and check for leakage. Unit never worked this good in all the time I have lived here. Couple days later he came and showed me all the freon leaks and what needed to be done. Right now this unit is leaking water and working with plastic containers underneath and still piping cold. Waiting to see what homeowner wants to do about the unit. Mike's work should've been brought here a long time to avoid the waste of money. Great company. Honest and quality work. You get what you pay for. There are literally dozens of HVAC companies to choose from. When my AC stopped blowing cold air, I did a ton of research and went with Coolest due to the reviews here on Yelp. Turned out to be a smart choice. I called on an afternoon, and with a couple of hours the tech was here and ready to go. Wolfgang (best name ever) is awesome. My AC is very difficult to get to (in a condo), and he went above and beyond Indiana Jones-style to get to it. He properly diagnosed the issue (a bad capacitor), and the whole time I was also in contact with Mike, who explained the issues and the costs involved. Super professional yet easy-going and friendly. Less than an hour later, my AC can freeze Han Solo faster than Darth Vader did. When you have a business space that is saturated with competition, the way to differentiate yourself is through customer service. I am so impressed with the service I received from start to finish! First, when I called to make the appointment, the lady who answered the call was patient and took the time to answer my questions and give me some causes why my AC was not functioning! She was able to get me an appointment right away. She helped ease my fear that my unit might not need to be replaced. Then when Danny and Anthony arrived, they were professional, courteous and super cheerful. Really pleasant! They took the time to explain what was happening and what was causing the problem. I didn't feel like they were trying to do a quick fix to come back and get more money later. My unit just needed a patch for a leak, and they even did a complimentary drain for me. After asking Ana for an emergency repair at 8:30am she schedule my visit for only four hour later, but in one hour Mike call me to ask for some technical details and after checking his parts availability he offers me to meet in 25 minutes to take care of the emergency. In the building roof the vast majority of the AC units lack identification, without hesitation he help me identify my apartment unit and proceded to make a diagnostic of the failure and provide options, including a free estimate and temporary mitigation to make the equipment work. I decided to follow his recommendation to restore the unit to the level of recommended by the manufacturer, taking away previos bad repairs done for unprofessional technicians. This is the second time we had this company come out to our home. The first time, they fixed our unit right away, just had to replace a part. We were very happy with the service. Second time, about 2 years later, when they came out, right after we called, they were unable to do a quick fix and we had to get a new unit. They gave us several options and quotes, and did not pressure our decision. At first we were going to have to wait a couple of days for install as they had a busy couple days ahead, but offered a temporary portable unit so that we would not be unbearably hot! I called on a Sunday afternoon when I noticed my AC unit was not cooling and to our surprise not only did someone answer but Mike the owner himself was able to come out that same day earlier than promised and inspect the problem on his day off. Update: I was hearing a screeching noise coming from the brand new air handler. I texted Ana this morning by 3:00pm today Mike was at my door ready to see what the issue was.
