HOWEVER, the quality of day to day care was absolutely horrible and frightening for my mom and my daughter who stayed with her the first 6 days of her care. After day one, my mom wanted to leave by day two she was so determined to leave she went above and beyond what PT and OT were asking her to do so she could get out asap. She went in on a Monday and left that Thursday the same week. She really needed 2 weeks of care after a major abdominal surgery. In addition to poor care, their food was something from the 1950's - a lot fried, greasy, salty food and sugary desserts!! My mom had 2 feet of her small intestines taken out and needed to be on a diet that was completely the opposite of what they served. My mom eats healthy foods and needed a lactose-free, gluten-free, low sodium, no sugar diet and this place could not meet her dietary needs. I could not believe the type of unhealthy food they served the elderly. Thankfully my daughter was there to advocate for her. Unfortunately, the staff did not care. Multiple times they got my mom's food wrong, even after we were told it would be changed. I even had some food delivered from the local grocery store that would meet her dietary needs and they still got it wrong. Multiple times, my daughter was the one helping her to the bathroom, giving her a shower, and getting her the food she needed. My daughter should have been the one getting paid because she did the majority of their work for them. Housekeeping, especially in the bathrooms, was not sanitary. If my daughter had not been there, I truly believe my mother's health would have declined because she would not have been able to eat, she would not have been able to get to the bathroom in time or have a clean bathroom to do her business, and they would have just kept her doped up on meds. I would NOT recommend this place to my worst enemy.

I rate Five Points the absolute best ; head and shoulders above all the others in the city. This type of work is extremely challenging as you have hundreds of patients and each with unique demands and challenges. Their professional staff care for each patient with genuine interest and concern. If there is something being missed and the patient or their sponsors will communicate that need to the staff, they will take care of the issue in a timely and professional manner-- with a welcoming attitude and a smile. The upbeat, positive attitude of the employees is one of the primary attributes that sets them apart from other facilities . The exercise staff is truly the best. They work to help the patients improve physically and mentally , and they do it in a manner that makes the patients feel important. They don't just go through the motions in their workouts; as much as the physical challenges they provide, they provided warmth and emotional encouragement at the same time. If the patients want help and want to improve, they will get what they need from these professionals. The food is excellent and the dining room is always bright and extremely clean. If you ask they, will adjust food requests to your taste and needs. The entire facility is kept clean and spotless and even the cleaning and support staff have a positive and helpful attitude. They host daily games, challenges, entertainments to help improve the spirits of all the patients that want to participate. When my time comes Five Points is were I'll get checked in ; I've seen almost every facility in Amarillo. The challenge is to go visit a facility before you get yourself are someone you love admitted.

I had put off hip replacement for YEARS, and finally got the right hip done 3 months ago. I can tell a big difference in my mobility and reduced pain. His office staff and nurses are kind, patient and ready to answer any questions you have. His post-surgical pain management protocol is comprehensive and kept me very comfortable, particularly in the first few weeks after surgery. Panhandle Surgical Hospital is also excellent - I was treated like "gold" before, during and after my surgery. My left total hip replacement is scheduled in September!

That cost me over $4,000 dollars plus the travel and lodging to Austin and back from Amarillo. Three months later I went back for a second and final treatment which cost me about the same. In all, I estimate that I spent over $10,000.00. The treatment did help but was short lived. I finally made the decision to have that knee replaced. Dr. Crossnoe replaced my wives knee about 5 years ago and she has had great results so I decided to go back to him for my knee. It has been 120 days since Dr. Crossnoe replaced my right knee. I must say, the firs two months I endured quite a bit of pain and discomfort. However, for the past two to three weeks the pain has completely gone away. I still am experiencing some minor swelling and stiffness but am able to walk just fine. The knee is getting better every day. I cannot say enough about the care, and professional treatment I received from Dr. Crossnoe and his entire staff. They are very friendly and the wait time to see Dr. Crossnoe is minimal. If you are even thinking about having knee replacement, you owe it to yourself to see Dr. Crossnoe. He gave me great advice from the very beginning and was not pushy.
