I love this place until last night. We were seated right away. Then another couple came in and were seated & the hostess went to get their waitress. Sat there waiting while the other couple got their chips and drinks. Looked around a bit confused. So I looked at the time to see what time we sat down. I had sent a text as soon as we were seated. It had been 16 minutes and they were not busy. I went up to the hostess to ask if there was a problem since the couple who was seated after us had chips & drinks already. She looked confused then finally realized what I was saying. She said she would look for our server. What she didn't see was the waitress on her way to the restroom as she passed me on my way to the hostess stand. She went around looking for her. When she couldn't find her she just went back to the hostess stand instead of coming to tell us. She couldn't locate her so she should've got the manager to take our drink order or even bring us chips. Very very unprofessional. So we sat there another 5 minutes until the waitress came out of the restroom. The waitress was nice but wasn't even aware she had a new table because again the hostess never told her. We ordered our food. I've ordered this dish many times when I want leftovers for lunch the next 2 days. It was the grande. It's one of my favorite dishes because you get a little bit of everything. My mom ordered sour cream chicken enchiladas like she has so many times before. We were so disappointed. The sour cream enchiladas tasted like bland chicken. What happened to the sour cream sauce? It tasted like they forgot how to make the sauce all together. Then I tried my taco. It was good but how can you really mess that up. The chimichanga was pretty good with the cheese sauce on it that I tried. Next, I tried the beef enchiladas. Omg, why was there so much chili powder in the sauce. It was terrible becausethat's all you could taste. We were done by then. My mom didn't want to send it back because she was afraid they would send out something worse. I told her I would buy us a desert to share. We got the tres Leche cheesecake. That was one of the best cheesecakes I've ever had. It kinda made up for the food not being up to par. We let my husband try the food and he was mad we didn't send it back. He thought it was awful to. The only leftovers I kept were the chimichanga. My mom said she's going to stick with Angelina's. There food is consistently the same and good everything. Please do better Abuelo's.

Chile Relleno in a very odd batter which was unpleasant to eat.

2 stars because our waiter was attentive and not responsible for the food. I ordered the Chile Rellenos. It taste like Fletchers corn dog with cheese. I was embarrassed of my plate but I also left with my dignity in tact. Take Mexican Food off your menu if this is Tex Mex.

Nothing amazing here, just your usual Tex-Mex spot. Our server was good and it was quiet for a weekend that was a plus.

Food and service is excellent. The avocado enchiladas were tasty along with the beans and mashed potatoes ( papas). Three separate sauces went well with the crispy chips. If you like Tex-Mex this is a good choice.Original restaurant founded in Lubbock Tx Try the Queso too.Chili relleno was perfectly prepared.

We decided to check this place out, we saw pretty good reviews on Google. We were seated and served chips & salsa...not just one but three different kinds. We devoured every last drop of the salsas. They were definitely really good. My mom got the Tortilla Soup, and she loved it! She practically finished the entire bowl. My aunt some kinda of plate with tamales, and she also finished it as well. For the table, we ordered the Steaks Nachos Grande, and it was not a disappointment. The steak was tender and flavorful, and the toppings were plentiful. My brother got the Ground Beef Tacos, and he was pretty much fun from he appetizers he had to take the rest home but overall he said it was a good meal. Simple tacos. My husband got the Steak Fajitas Tacos, he said they were decent, and it just reminded him of Chuy's. He's not a big fan of Tex-Mex, so he was a hard critic. I ordered the Sangria Swirl to drink, and it was so good!! I had to share with my brother because it was huge, and I knew I wouldn't be able to finish it myself. For my meal, I got the Juarez plate. It had a tamale, crunchy taco, cheese enchilada, and I believe a chicken enchilada. My favorite on the plate was the cheese enchilada. Sometimes, I like simple things... and this was it. The other items on the plate were good too. I would come back, but my husband would say otherwise.

Great first time experience. We ordered the fajita Trio and the Enchiladas. Both pretty good and portions were big. The drink - EL Jeffe margarita was pretty good too. We also liked the complimentary chips and Salsas. Service was excellent. Thank you. We will be back.

Tres leches cake

Typical Tex-Mex fare. The tres leches cake was delicious. Really friendly and attentive staff. Nice ambiance with the decor. If I had to eat here again, I wouldn't say no.

I was pleasantly surprised that the food at this location was really good. I do not like the Plano location and steer clear any time someone asks me to go there. This was a work meeting lunch so I really had no choice. Again, pleasantly surprised! The only reason I take off one star is because the guacamole was seasoned with nothing at all and the queso was pretty bland. The three salsas that are complimentary were really good. The green salsa was my favorite. They also serve fresh chicharrones with the queso and guacamole appetizer. Yum!! Our server was a little bit of a helicopter. It's a little annoying when your in the middle of talking about something and your server keeps coming back multiple times and talking over you when you have said 5 times already that you are good. It is what it is.

End of meal and wait staff took our photo and we all had fun (he was attentive and fun)

Food and wait staff are consistently great and they do parties over the usual 4-6 well, and are accommodating and patient with families with children. This is one of our "go to's" for a quiet dinner for two, or going out with family and friends with over eight in the party! Great drinks too!!!

Los Mejores de la Casa

It's our first time back in quite a while. We really love one of their specials, the Los Mejores De la Casa. It's choice tenderloin medallions wrapped with bacon; fire grill served with shrimp; stuffed with jalapeños & cheese, wrap with bacon... along with their special mashed potatoes and Charro beans. When done right, it's outstanding! We absolutely love their salsa, just the right amount of everything! Enough of a bite to keep me happy, yet mild enough to make my wife happy. Chips are always fresh and crispy... chips are the thin kind. The service has been hit or miss, more missed than hit! At least that's been our experience. Main reason it's not one of our regular stops. We loved the Lewisville location, but it was closed when the road was widened. Service today was good, but not great, as compared to menu prices and atmosphere. The atmosphere is modern Mexican, a little too commercial for my taste. However, it is very clean and well kept. Additionally, they have a rewards program. Which, for my birthday, was a buy one get one free meal... A great value for what we ordered!

I visited this spot with a potential mate. We arrived a little after 7 pm. Although, there was a wait , the wait was minimal- maybe-10 minutes or less. Side note- Parking is horrible The ambiance is casual. The decor is simple but chic. The booths are comfortable too. The food was delicious!!! I ordered the fajitas come (steak and shrimp) the shrimp stole the show. It was grilled to perfection. The steak was cooked perfectly with just the right amount of seasoning. Omg.... Let's talk about the best damn corn tortilla on the block the tortilla melt in your mouth. The texture was soft, the corn flavor was just right. No weird after taste...just a damn good tortilla. The service was great. They start you off with chips and dip. The dips are all tasty and tomato based. Oh..... before I forget. Yes, the portions are worth the cost!!! Great date night spot.

Casual Mexican food. It's a bit pricey for what it is, but the quality is always good and service is always reliable.

We don't make it in person as often as we'd like, but we order delivery almost every single weekend--and seriously, we couldn't live without it!! The pozole is the reason. It is absolutely divine. I genuinely dream about it during the week, counting down until the weekend because that's the only time they serve it. The meat is unbelievably tender--melt‑in‑your‑mouth tender--and the flavor is rich, comforting, and deeply satisfying. It's one of those dishes that sticks with you long after the bowl is empty. Everything else is consistently excellent too. The guacamole is always fresh and delicious. All of their salsas are vibrant, fresh, and full of flavor, and you can really taste the quality. Their chips and tortillas are also fresh and delicious, which makes such a difference and really rounds out the whole meal. When we do go to the restaurant in person, the experience is just as good. The servers are always helpful and friendly, the bar is great, and while the atmosphere may not be over‑the‑top fancy, it's comfortable, welcoming, and always very clean, which we really appreciate. Calles de Mexico is one of those rare places that's incredibly consistent over the years. Whether you're dining in or ordering delivery, they never disappoint. And if you're lucky enough to catch them on the weekend--do not miss the pozole!!

After a long flight, I was exhausted and starving. I searched for nearby restaurants and stumbled…read moreupon this absolute gem--Calles de Mexico. Don't let the very basic setup fool you. What this place lacks in ambience, it more than makes up for in flavor. We ordered both the Taco Tex (Chicken Tinga, Al Pastor, Spicy Chicken) and Taco Mex (Al Pastor, Chicken Tinga, Spicy Chicken), along with fries and a Michelada. The tacos were truly out of this world--perfectly spicy, incredibly flavorful, and packed with juicy, well-seasoned meat. Each variety had its own distinct taste, and everything felt fresh and authentic. We loaded them up with the sauces available at the table, and that just elevated the flavors to the next level. The fries were crispy and perfectly seasoned--simple but done right. My husband really enjoyed the Michelada as well; it paired perfectly with the tacos. If you're looking for great Mexican street-style tacos, this place absolutely delivers. I only wish I had more time in Dallas to go back for another round, because this spot definitely left us wanting more.

It's hard to get reservations same day, so it's best that you do it at least a day ahead and they get booked up quick! This trip we got all different entrees, everything is great here! But I will say that you HAVE to get the table side guac service! They put BACON in it and always bring a couple bucks to give to the nice attendant for preparing your fresh guac Some of my other favorites are the sopes, the carne asada and tacos are never a miss. I will say this time around we were disappointed with the shrimp tacos, it was 4 tiny tacos with 1 shrimp per taco :-/ so maybe try it if you don't have the same appetite of a 15yo growing teenage boy lol Restaurant of course is very nice and always clean. Parking gets tricky, but there's valet if you're not the walking type ;) Ps. Drinks are phenomenal. Their prickly pear Margs is an absolute go-to!

The vegetarian options were also very limited, with only about three dishes on the entire menu. My vegetarian enchiladas were served incorrectly twice, first with meat sauce, then with an entirely wrong preparation. It took three attempts and manager involvement to correct a basic order. By that point, I had lost my appetite. Service throughout the meal was poor. We had to request water three separate times, which reflects a lack of attentiveness. The most concerning issue was being charged $1.50 for pico de gallo that was provided while correcting their own mistake, despite being told it would be taken care of. This reflects a clear lack of professionalism, accountability, and customer care. I will not be returning and cannot recommend this restaurant.
