I was in the mood for a top-of-the-line fish fry, and both Google and Reddit pointed me to…read moreWiechec's. The bar/restaurant sits in a decent part of the East Side, and the staff couldn't have been friendlier. The place has that classic, old-school Polish Buffalo vibe -- salty, worn-in, and full of character. We ordered the breaded fish, beer-battered fish, and one of each pierogi. The fish dinners came with potato salad, macaroni salad, coleslaw, and rye bread. Everything and I mean EVERYTHING was the best version of itself I've ever had. Cooked perfectly, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. What a hidden gem. Oh, and $3 pints of Labatt Blue to wash it all down? Perfect. Next time we're in Buffalo, we're coming back.

I'll be back for the food again and again but I don't know I'll be watching a game there again!

I came to meet a friend at Edna's. It was past ski season so it was a nice and quiet lunch. Everything was fresh, cooked well and put together nicely. It was a decent portion size. Service was top notch. She made sure all my menu choices were safe for me. It was much appreciated. My only comment is that since this is part of the ski resort it's pretty pricey. Salad, no drink, was about $30.

The place had closed so the next day I went to ask them about it and brought the itemized receipt. Was met with"nothing we can do" so i asked if they can credit the price difference to another take out order for the current evening since we stayed at the hotel. Hesitantly they agreed. Since mistakes were made the first take out order and I was told to repeat my order next time to make sure they get it right (although restaurant staff should do this typically; read back the order they took) i preceded to go slow and repeated it, even pointed on the menu. 30 minutes later at pick up, I noticed again I was overcharged by $40+ . I Asked to review the order to find the discrepancy and the lady that took my order input a completely different meal considerably more in price, up charged on salad, and did not credit from evening before that manager agreed to. Back and forth for 30 minutes and waiting for them to remake the incorrect meal and toss in the caesar side salad ($10) just to arrive back to the room and see the smallest salad without dressing! The manager made it a point to take out the regular sized salad and give the tiny one. At the very least leave the salad since you wasted so much of my time and frustration. I would have avoided writing this review, but that put me over the top. So much time wasted and met with unpleasant service, so disappointing as we used to be very happy with the service in all of our past visits over the years. On the contrary the food overall was good! Chef did a nice job, the other staff was just incompetent and seemed annoyed even though it was their fault over and over. I see similar reviews so maybe upper management should have a meeting with staff on how to better respond to situations and be more attentive. It was two different servers that took orders on two separate nights.

Staying in the DoubleTree and this is a nice spot for dinner. The layout is standard hotel…read morerestaurant, but the decor was inviting and the place well lit. We entered and were warmly greeted by the Staff. Having just come from Buffalo (where we had wings for lunch), we thought we'd try some wings in Jamestown. Glad we did. Order of 10 wings ($16), each large and meaty with a nice crispy skin. We got the sweet chili sauce, which we liked very much. The sauce tasted similar to the Asian Zing at B-Dubs (sweet, yet tangy), and there was a generous portion slathered on the wings and these wings were superior to those we've had at B-Dubs. Honestly, these Jamestown wings hold their own against Buffalo city wings and at a slightly lower price point. The wings came with nice sized pieces of carrot and celery. Unlike Buffalo, where I understand you will be thrown out headfirst if you request ranch dressing, we were offered both ranch dressing and blue cheese. I'm not sure what dressing they use, but both were rich and bold tasting, as was the raspberry vinaigrette that my partner got with her entree. I recommend the dressings. We also ordered entrees - salmon burger (comes with side salad) and fish tacos (comes with fries). The salmon burger was very good. The fish tacos were nicely fried (crunchy outer coating with moist fish inside) with tomato and onion pieces sprinkled on top with a mild aioli. The fish tacos were fine. I've had better and I've had worse. I probably wouldn't get them again, but would the salmon burger. The fries with the fish tacos were fine. One issue that we had that really bothers me is that we ordered the wings and then asked the Staff to come back to take our entree order. She put the wing order in and a few minutes later we ordered our entrees. About 10 minutes later, she comes with the wings and the entrees, puts them on the table and apologizes that the kitchen screwed up and here's your food. I told her that this is something they really ticks me off - I specifically ordered the appetizer and waited to order the entrees to avoid this. She said she agreed and apologized again. A few minutes later, she came back and said she spoke to the manager and that they weren't going to charge us for the wings. There was so much food that came out at the same time that we asked to box up the entrees. Unfortunately, since we are staying at a hotel with a fridge, but no microwave, I expect that we will discard some of the food (cold fried fish and fries??!!). Anyway, I would have given 5 stars, but, although they deducted the appetizer from the bill, I think they only did that because I told them how much this annoys me. I don't get the impression they would take the appetizer off the price without a fuss. So, four stars. I really enjoyed the meal, though, even though much will likely be thrown away because of the app/entree fiasco. And, to be clear, our server (I think her name was Andrea) was very nice and friendly, and was sincerely apologetic for the kitchen's timing.
