Went for the first time last night. Amazing place! Staff was incredibly friendly, informed & informative. The brews were done in an old world, "real beer" style. Not the fizzy yellow brews of some breweries or the over hopped, taste bud killing beers of others. I found the 5 beers I tried to be balanced, easily approachable & very enjoyable. Every one has different taste & I respect that but people who can't understand how a brewery could run out of small batch brews on opening weekend, & can't taste the depth of subtle flavor should stay away & go drink some hop bomb. If you lean toward darker brews, get the stout on nitro. For a well balanced beer you can drink again and again, try the Cardinal Sin. Cheers all! read more

Absolution one of the now several micro breweries in Torrance. It is in a warehouse and has a bar, a couple of long tables, and some booths. The atmosphere is low key. The beer selections varies. The selections will usually have some protestant themed name like, "The Convert," but others may be "Test Batch #3. Get a taster if you are unsure. They allow outside food and usually have a food truck or catering set up outside. The staff is nice and will help with your beer selection. It is worth checking out. read more

Very unassuming location. And yes, it's located in the Industrial park. Awesome use of the warehouse. Upon entering you are struck with the high ceilings and the big logo emblazoned on the wall. There are a couple of tvs and plenty of standing and sitting spaces, either chairs or lovely pews. Tried the following: - Pergatory (Heifeweizen) - Nice and light - Lil Angel - season ipa. This is very hoppy. Expect bitterness Do try their root beer as well. It's very yum. Next time will definitely have to try the cream soda as well. I guess by law, establishments that serves alcohol must serve some noms. So expect a food truck to be on hand. Unfortunately the site doesn't show which food truck is out there. Out of our South Bay beer crawl, I think Absolution was my favorite: 1) Plenty of seating area for a large group (if you can snag it). We had a group of 8. 2) Great lighter beer choices for those of us who prefer something on the sweeter side (I tried their peach and strawberry ale) 3) Root beer and Cream soda on tap for our DD!!! This was the only place out of 5 we went to that night that had something for our DD and he really liked their cream soda (or just having an option to sip on something with us). And only $2! Prices were super reasonable ($2 for 4oz, $6 for 12 oz plus a smattering of other options for a flight). Super generous with the pours and allowing us to pre-taste. Great atmosphere and they serve food also! It was a little hard to find (industrial area surrounded with other business) but it was definitely pretty cool to find a hidden nook for drinking in the area. Great local brewery in Torrance. I've been here twice now and can say the beer and service has been consistently very good. The limited release pumpkin spice ale is pretty awesome. Tastes like a churro! And who doesn't like churros, right? Flight (tasters) are offered and are given Vegas style chips to redeem your next tester. My friend was throwing her husband a birthday party here and I just wanted to say that the staff here are super nice, the beers are all tasty, and the environment is chill and friendly. They have a food truck outside (they were serving burgers and waffle fries when we went), and there is plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. For people who are more Covid cautious, the patrons were all very respectful with masking when necessary, the staff were all masked, they checked our vaccination cards and ID when we checked in. There's also plenty of ventilation inside and again, plenty of outdoor seating. Lots of parking in the area as well. Definitely recommend if you just need a casual day or night out for a beer and food with friends. read more

I have been back a few more times but no Steve :-( was he busy in San Diego? I like that they have a good selection of beer, and they offer root beer and cream soda for the non-beer drinking friends. Just hit up Steve, the 'mixlogist', for a beer & rootbeer or beer & cream soda 'cocktail' the 2 beers that stood out for me are the strawberry infused Belgian (Trespasser) - fragrant strawberry smell, and the Wicked. you don't expect an IPA to pack a 9.6% to be 'easy' drinking . lt didn't taste hoppy even with the high IBU --so it's probably not hoppy enough for hopheads. Fallen Archangel was available during my second visit, the beer was a-ok but also not hoppy. just an irrevelant note: the ladies restroom is cutely decorated. there is a barrel with metal cans on top. inside one of the cans, it is stocked with lady 'supplies' - you wouldn't expect that out of a brewery, but it's thoughtful. it'd be nice if Absolution can offer some snacks like pretzels, popcorn..etc; the trucks food selections have been lackluster the last 2 times I went. read more

My husband had already been here many times so now it was my turn. Located in a very nice business park with plenty of parking. Very important!! Nice and open with lots of light which is lacking in other breweries in the area. Cool interior with fun religious theme through out- the benchs are church pews! Also lots of stand up bar area so it can accommodate lots of people. Because I am a Hop Head, I started with 4 tasters of their various IPA's. Fun religious thematic carried through in their beers, so I tasted Lil Angel, Crimson, Fallen Angel and The Wicked. My favorite was Fallen Angel. I do think they need more time to really develop their beers so they have more diverse tastes - the IPA's did all taste similar. All the help and owners at the brewery are very friendly and you can tell they love what they are doing! Will definitely be back soon. read more

The service is great.....we were both approached by the owner and the brew master while just chilling out and we're offered free snacks a couple of times. We celebrated my husband's 40th birthday at Absolution a couple of weeks ago. Nigel and his whole team were super helpful and friendly. I visited almost a dozen different breweries and I'm so glad I went with Absolution. We rented the game room and were able to bring our own food and desserts in. The little kids (ages 3-8) were entertained for HOURS with the in-house games. Every guest loved the venue, staff, and beers. We will 100% be back for other celebrations or just weekends with our son. There are food trucks as well, it would be a great place for families to meet up with their kiddos for a safe space to have a drink and catch up while their kids are entertained. With soooo many breweries popping up in the South Bay, there's a lot of good options to choose from. Absolution is one of the best choices. Its another one of the garage-door in an industrial park tap room, Absolution is "religion" themed with pews for seating and beer names like "Cardinal Sin", "Fallen Archangel", and "Penance". Instead of typical flights they give you poker chips to cash in for your taster which is a smarter option to me. As a craft beer lover who is a fan of all things NOT IPA, I really wasn't disappointed by any of the beers I tried (which was 10-12 since I also tried everything my boyfriend got too). The Holy Cow milk stout was a favorite. If you're looking for something fun to do in the Torrance area, I definitely recommend checking out any of the number of breweries all in close range but Absolution should be one of the stops for sure! read more

I'm not really a beer fan but the beers I sampled were very good. I tried the Rest in Peach and Strawberry Saison both had mild fruit taste without the bitter beer aftertaste. I felt a rocker/biker vibe atmosphere by the décor and music playing but definitely would come again to try their other craft beers. When you come their entrance is at the side of the building where deliveries are made not the front door. I know this microbrewery is one of many popping up in the South Bay industrial area. Great smaller brewery in the South Bay and probably the ONLY one with a mug club! Go to the IE and it seems like everyone has a mug club, come out west and pinkies up. The staff is always welcoming. Everyone from the bottom on up to the top make you feel welcomed. I love their tap list, generous pours and Groupon deals. Especially some of their Stouts, Hazys and Sours. They have several screens and a projector for watching the game or playing on the NES and SNES video game systems! They have a shuffleboard in the back among other games and board games. Absolution is one of our local breweries in Torrance. It offers a wide variety of beers with pretty much any type you'd be looking for. You can taste or sample any one of them. The staff is extremely knowledgeable and incredibly helpful in selecting your beer. Will was our guy today and was so amazingly helpful and very well versed in the brew here at Absolution. They have outside food vendors come in each day. Today they're offering wood-fired pizza's and they all look great! There's also a game room with board games and darts... and even corn hole at the front of the brewery. Absolution is located in an industrial part or Torrance and is a hidden gem. Very very very helpful service! I booked for a group of 12 to join their brewery for someone's birthday celebration. Unfortunately there was a mix up and upon arrival, there was no designated area for us. Luckily the night was not too busy so one of the gentleman working at the brewery snatched us a spot room for plenty. From there the night only got better. This brewery specializes in red ales and man oh man are they pretty awesome. They have red ales on tap in the 11% alcohol range. But if you don't feel like drinking beer, they also offer house made root beer and cream soda. How many other breweries offer house made root beer and cream soda?? This brewery is also not only pet friendly but food friendly as well. One of our friends was allowed to bring in a picnic basked full of treats, crackers, and cheeses. No hassle, no problem. It was wonderful! Parking should not be that tricky. Once you find the business area, if you're here on a weekend towards the evening, you probably won't need to worry about having your car towed. There are some designated spots towards the front of the brewery so you should be fine. Will I come back to this brewery? Most definitely! The service was even friendly on the way out. They asked again if it was someone's birthday and they offered us a free bottle of beer on the way out. Awesome! Nothing like walking out of the brewery with not only a full stomach, but also a full bottle in your hands. This place holds up more than just a simple brewery spot. The service is here to make it work, and I mean really work for everyone, the food that was catered was amazing, and the environment feels nice.
