If I could give more than 5 stars I really would. This was the first time we have ever had to hire…read moresomeone for tree removal as first time homeowners and the wonderful team at Made in the Shade were so patient and helpful through the whole process. From the consultation to finishing the job, the whole crew were wonderful. We received 3 independent quotes and Made in the Shade stood out for many reasons. Their partnership with the Tucson Zoo to take African Sumac branches to feeding the animals, their polite nature, their wealth of information, and patience while answering my many, many questions. Every single member of their crew involved in the job were polite, wonderful, and had a great sense of humor. They were incredibly thoughtful in their work, being respectful of our home, and went above and beyond with taking care to work around our grumpy desert tortoise. They removed a large palm tree, a stubborn olive tree stump, an African sumac, and a cypress. These trees were either dying, causing damage to retaining walls, or potential threats if fallen over in a storm. After the crew came out it doesn't even look like any of these plants were there. We will be referring and working with Made in the Shade in the future. (Photos to follow)

We called Raymond because he has equipment to safely remove high branches. His quote was very reasonable and highly competitive given the height of the tree and cutting through old oak. Raymond's estimated the time he would take to cut the tree branches and render the tree safe was spot on. Raymond cleared all the branches and left the yard as he found it. I highly recommend Raymond and understand why he has earned "Everybody loves Raymond's Tree Service."

She grasped immediately what my wife and I wanted. She gave me a price on an initial clean-up including pruning some overgrown trees and bushes. I thought it a fair price. She came on the appointed day and completed the work. Since then she has recommended some improvements including removing some rotting railroad ties and replacing them with river rocks. She has also planted some ornamental plants that are actually growing. (She has also taught me a few things about gardening.) I think by fall my wife and I will have a beautiful bower in which to relax.

From the initial estimate to the completion of the project, they were professional, knowledgeable, and responsive. Ernesto provided a fair price and arrived on time ready to work. What really stood out was Ernesto and his team's skill and attention to safety. The mesquite tree was located near power lines, a steel fence, and my home's roof, making the removal a challenging job. The crew carefully planned the work and removed the tree without causing any damage to the surrounding structures or landscaping. Even more impressive, they completed the entire job in about 5 hours! The crew worked efficiently while maintaining a strong focus on safety and precision. After the tree was removed, they cleaned up all branches, debris, and wood, leaving the area spotless. I highly recommend Cutter Tree Service to anyone needing tree removal services. I'll definitely be calling them back in the future to help trim my other trees. After waiting a couple of hours, (we get calls from the gate and I didn't want to miss the estimator's arrival,) at 4:20 I called to see if someone was coming out. Had I not called, I doubt if the estimator would have come out to the property before 5, or for that matter, at all. The estimator looked over the tree to be cut back, and a possible additional job, if he wanted it, and said I would get an estimate by email from his office. He was about to leave and I asked him if he had my email. He didn't. I wrote it down for him. By the next morning, not having received an estimate I called Oro Valley Tree Service and spoke with the same person I arranged the estimate with, who turned out to be the owner. I explained that the visit by the estimator went well; I didn't push for a price, or attempt to negotiate; offered him cold bottled water when he left, etc. But I know he had a price in mind when he looked at the project. This estimate by email is an unnecessary, and I suspect, an intentional, delay. The benefits of this--for a business--should be obvious. (Many of these are psychological; it gives added importance to the job, even when the work doesn't deserve it, it makes the customer wait, and places the customer in a subordinate position, and quite frankly, is insulting to the customer). An email, when citing the estimate, and used for a contractual reference is fine, but a verbal estimate could easily be offered before the 'write up'. When I called the service and said I'd rather just pass my comments, (above) as a point of information; that it was simply for her and her business, and nothing more. I did not want any work done, or did I want to cause any ill will with her employee, she disputed just about everything, said the worker was fine, the estimates were handled this way, and was extremely defensive. I didn't expect this. Instead, she could have accepted my remarks, asked what could be done, but there was none of that. Had her attitude been reasonable, and not dismissive, I wouldn't be writing this review. Tree trimming is a competitive business, and I would think businesses would be eager to help customer's when unprofessional behavior is encountered. The customer's time is important as well.
