We scheduled an installation date and confirmed with installer, Tim Tennis and Triple R Moving. One full day and our work was completed without a hitch. Nelson Tile - Review of Kitchen Countertop Installation…read more We worked directly with Chris Nelson, owner of Nelson Tile, for the installation of new quartz kitchen countertops. Our experience raised serious concerns about both workmanship and professionalism. Installation Issues From the start, Chris incorrectly measured the backsplash, resulting in a two-piece installation rather than a single seamless slab. He claimed the transition would be unnoticeable -- the photos tell a different story. One piece is already pulling away from the wall. Other reviews describe Chris as skilled with laser measuring, but that was not our experience. The visual difference between a single slab and a seamed installation is significant, and Chris offered neither a solution nor any cost reduction for this error. Material Quality Chris purchased the material from a distributor he admitted does little business with. Within just three months, we noticed significant chipping on both the edges and countertop surfaces. Chris sent his brother-in-law to repair the chips with filler. He acknowledged this was unusual and said he had seen it once before with another client, categorizing it as faulty material -- yet when we raised our concerns, he simply accused us of being hard on the countertops. For context, we replaced 15-year-old laminate countertops that had zero marks or chips. Over the following 18 months, we continued to experience additional chipping, hundreds of scratches, and pitting across the entire countertop surface. We eventually switched to plastic plates out of concern that any ceramic or glass contact would cause further damage (see photos). Attempted Resolution I had Chris return to the house. It was clear he was reluctant to acknowledge faulty material, but after some pressure he agreed to have the distributor conduct an on-site inspection. The distributor was professional, photographed the damage, and reviewed it with his team. The following week, I received an email from Chris stating that the distributor had agreed to provide a replacement slab at no material cost -- but Chris quoted $6,500 for installation, excluded sink removal and reinstallation, disclaimed responsibility for any damage to finishes, appliances, or cabinets, and required that we agree not to post any negative public statements or reviews about Nelson Tile. Summary Based on our experience and the lack of professional accountability, we strongly recommend considering alternative companies. When you invest thousands of dollars in a kitchen remodel, you should expect quality materials and skilled installation. Unfortunately, neither was delivered in our experience with Chris Nelson. We will have the replacement material completed by a different installer.

They could give a hoot less about quality, craftsmanship, nor client relationships. So many things went wrong on our project - it would take pages and pages to list but some of the most important problems include: - failing to follow the plan laid out clearly in the paperwork to the extent that they had fish our remnants out of the trash to finish the job (this was admitted to us by their manufacturing tech) - damaging our countertops prior to installation which was confirmed by the company that make the slab and refusing any form of compensation for their error - charging us for something their sales person told us they could do but ultimately could not - blaming us or our contractor for a lost palette of tile that ultimately when I applied pressure they found in their own warehouse I could go on and on and on. When approached about the problems the owners were defensive and rude. I will never use this company again and our neighbors who used their contracting service had a similar experience. I agree with Victor M. Buyer beware....this company could care less about quality or customer satsifaction.

The outcome was truly top notch and every step in the process professionally managed. At this point in our lives we've gutted and remodeled one house and had two built from scratch, with custom cabinetry and custom casegoods furniture included. Sadly, it wasn't until a couple of months ago that we discovered Finer and this time for a furniture project. We wish we had known of them earlier because they would have been our first choice for cabinets. We've seen Finer's cabinet work in homes in our community and it is absolutely impeccable in craftsmanship. The company is run by two men named Steve, one of them runs the front office and does the customer outreach and the other runs their custom cabinet shop and helps create the fabulous case goods. Both are a delight to work with and each brings with them nearly forty years in custom cabinet work with the fine craftsman outlook that experience supports. Their passion for getting things right is evident and delightful. Finer Cabinetry will not be the least expensive of options you'll find, but you'll find no finer (pun intended) for the quality of outcome. You get what you pay for and then some. And when the original estimate for our furniture came in over our budget, they were happy to work with us to simplify some of the design elements that added to the cost so we could end up with designs that allowed us to stay in budget and also have the feel we wanted for the furniture. The outcome was stellar quality craftsmanship, the best we have ever had done compared to three other custom cabinet makers and three other custom furniture makers. The next time we build or remodel a home with a need for cabinets or have custom furniture on our radar, Finer Cabinets will be our first stop. It does not get better than this for a company run by folks with integrity and skill, to create true fine craftsman work. THIS N THAT: The exterior of their location is unassuming in a small building in an industrial area on Bend's east side. But go in the customer offices and you'll be able to see some of Finer's beautiful cabinet and woodworking handiwork. You'll be hooked! And if you love wood shops as my hubby and I do, see if you can peek inside their big shop. Well organized, lots of top notch specialty equipment, and the best staff folks doing the work.

However, from the little time he spoke to Steve my husband was convinced his cabinet shop is the best. We got an estimate and as the other reviewer said, Steve was great in working with our budget and coming up with different quotes for different options. He came to our house twice and this was last year when we first bought our house. We ended up not deciding to spend the funds for a new kitchen at the time, but now we need to and when we re-contacted Steve he was nice as ever. No grudge for not using him the first time. His quality of work can be seen in the office and its impressive. You should stop by as I would highly recommend him. Oh, and we also had Home Depot do a quote and they were the same price and not honest about their installation fees which they add on even though they make it seem like it's included in the price. The Home Depot cabinets were also the cheapest model, and nowhere near as nice. In this case it makes us happy to know that we can support local business and get the best quality. Update: Our kitchen is done and the team was great to work with. Probably the best in Bend. I would highly recommend them. You may see their work in the photos I posted. These people are reliable and deserve 5 stars. Once you work with the average Bend contractor who doesn't show up or takes 10 times as long as they could or does a half ass crappy job you will really appreciate this company.

We contacted several drywall contractors to see if they were interested in doing this project. Almost all of them said they were until we asked them to come out and give us a bid. Crickets from that point on except for Casa Repairs! They were the ONLY ones that actually came out and gave us a bid, and they did wonderful with the work they provided on top of that. We would highly recommend Casa Repairs for any sheetrock work that you might need done. We would hire them again in a heart beat. They were a little expensive, but they were worth it in the long run.

Blown away. Super, super folks. After downsizing we wanted to change out our laminate counter top…read morein the kitchen. It's a small house and the counter top is large. Any flaws WILL be seen. We shopped a couple of stores in town and nobody really connected with us. We had granite in our kitchen when we built our home over 20 years ago. And hated every minute of it. The seams were huge, the edge was poor and the experience was beyond awful. So we wanted to avoid all that. As we are laying out the stone we walked back into the shop and talked with the foreman about our concern w/the seams. He showed us the method they use and we were satisfied. He turned over a slab and showed us the cams to keep the seams tight. It really helped to talk to the people that would be doing our work. We also chose a chiseled self edge. Which we were a bit apprehensive about. Done right it looks great. Done "not right" you catch your shirt on the edge as you walk past. Demo day comes and the crew pops off our old counter in a jiffy, clean up and lay out for the new granite. I think we got the layout as a pdf that afternoon. Approved it and we were off. The time from layout to install was a tiny bit long. I think there was a Holiday in there as well. This would probably be the only thing Imagine could improve on. Tub washing the dishes was getting old. The install went great. And all our fears about large seams and off kilter counters over the cabinets were allayed. You literally have to look closely to see where the seams were bookended. Pass your hand over the seam and there is nothing. The chiseled edge was honed down so it still looks great...but doesn't catch your clothing We are beyond happy with Imagine Stone. Next project...bathrooms

Following an unproductive and time-consuming encounter an unreliable Ultimate Garage Floors I…read morecontacted Doug, the owner of Deschutes Concrete Coatings on July 30, 2025 for an estimate on completing the project. He promptly showed up on August 1, 2025 to assess the work required and measure the dimensions. He subsequently provided a very comprehensive estimate delineating each step required in the application and the materials needed. It was scheduled several days following the repair on the spalling of the north half of bullnose edge of the slab by Superior Concrete Restorations. Doug's crew showed up on August 3, 2025 to repair any cracks using a polyurea patching compound, ground down any high spots using a large grinder. They did a thorough job in both the application and cleanup during all steps. Bunker, the foreman for the crew, made sure all steps were completed correctly prior to their application of the polyaspartic coating. This included the application of a polyurethane coating and the colored Nightfall chips. At this point it was already looking better than the prior uncoated concrete garage floor, that had been severely abused by the previous owner. The following day included the final step of the application of the polyaspartic coating. Prior to application of the polyaspartic coating they cleaned up any loose colored chips off the ledgers. When the final step was completed, the product was a awesome garage floor that was aesthetically flawless. I would highly recommend Doug and Deschutes Concrete Coatings for upgrading the look of your garage floor.
