I needed to match some vinyl in my bathroom with a pattern I had installed several years earlier. Carpet One carried vinyl from the same manufacturer and were able to match the pattern immediately at a reasonable price. When the vinyl arrived, they were also able to refer me to a qualified vinyl installer. The service I received was professional, well-informed, and very pleasant. We had a positive experience with Carpet One of Bend from the very first phone call. Tami was extremely helpful, and a delight to work with. We were able to find a carpet that met our needs, and at a price that was reasonable. The carpet arrived on schedule; and we were able to have the installation done at a time convenient for us. Our installation was at the Plaza condominiums, which has some special requirements that regulate contractor access. The Carpet One crew was easily able to deal with the complexities involved. It surprises me that the company advertises a "beautiful guarantee". This guarantee is even on their sign on Third Street! We had 2 bathroom floors, living room, hall and master floored by Carpet One of Bend on February 23, 2014. Most of our job was done very well. We liked the product, we liked the installation team. The problem is that the master bathroom was laid crooked. Not just a little bit--but very crooked. The next day the owner (Pete) said " I wouldn't be happy with this installation either". This was the end of February 2014. It is now the end of May 2014. We still have a crooked bathroom floor. I have called several times. I have taken my paperwork into the store to try to get action to get my floor installed correctly. I get the run-around. The last time I went to the store, the owner would not come out of her office to speak. Instead the employee at the front desk (who didn't know anything about my complaint) stood in the doorway between the counter and the back office and repeated the information given by the owner. I have given up on the "beautiful guarantee". I have every reason to believe they are just hoping I will go away. If this is the way they treat their customers, I am surprised they still have any. I shopped at the temporary store, in Redmond and was given a quote of 3.17 per square foot from the owner Tami Shirley, scheduled Fred to measure the space and was told the price was 3.75 per square foot and I must have been mistaken. I had a strange feeling this was a bait-and-switch tactic and I should have canceled the deal right then. Things only went down hill from this point. The carpet could not be installed when promised, the installer knocked two holes in my wall with my bedroom door and had to be patched with drywall and the entire bedroom wall repainted. I called Tami 5 times and she never returned my call. Carpet One did not inform me that the 258.00 in damage was even done. They are dishonest people working in a company that cares only in getting your money. No customer service as guaranteed on their business cards. They had the BEST customer service compared to ALL the other carpet / flooring stores we checked out previously with FRED, at Carpet One, being one of the kindest and most patient man we've ever met. Carpet One not only had a great selection of quality carpets with a more vast selection of a more difficult carpet color we were trying to replace in our bedrooms but Fred also found us the perfect colors / patterns in the luxury vinyl plank wood flooring that was so great with our already stained wood wainscoting sample to do four other rooms. All the installers were super nice guys and did a BEAUTIFUL job in our home. watch out. trust the reviews this store is horrible. They were extremely friendly at first then that all changed. My wife and I saw the review and thought it was only one bad experience so we stayed with this store. We picked out our carpet and asked if we could tear it out our selves to save some money. So we did and Tim a terrible carpet guy installed our new carpet said they would be back for our old carpet 3 weeks ago. I still have the old carpet. The carpet installer left this funky dip on top of the stars. funny thing there wasn't one on the old carpet. I told them I wanted this fixed and at first they said they couldn't then said he could and would come back later. After that my wife didn't like the color and chose to do the 90 carpet guarantee and had them exchange it. When Tim the awful installer came back he left one spot of carpet, which was the carpet spot I complained about. And the whole time I would try to get a hold of this business and they were always to busy to talk and never returned my phone calls. Got a phone call from this company and said that it would be another two weeks to get the old carpet out and that he doesn't have time to hear complaints he was way to busy. The negative review above is not my experience at all. I replaced all 3 types of the existing flooring in my house and used CarpetOne. They were so helpful and the products have been worth every penny. The installers were fast and did a great job to work around our schedule and make each installation the best. They have given me amazing deals on the products right off the bat without me even asking for the best price. I will continue to use and recommend them. They sell the best quality flooring in Bend at the cheapest price you can find. I am an extremely frugal and thrifty person. Their prices are the best in town and you are staying local. Go see for yourself. The earlier negative review is hard to believe given my experience with them. Some people will never be happy, no matter how good they get it. Ordering, shipping, and especially installing large products like carpet and linoleum is a complex process, and Carpet One was up to the surprises and adjustments necessary to meet our deadline. Horrified by their lack of customer service. We ordered carpet and were told 7 to 10 business days for it to be delivered and installed. When we contacted them to schedule the install date we were told by the girl at the front desk we would have to wait another week since and I quote "we usually have problems with our trucks and getting carpet on time". First of all, fire this girl, you don't say something like that to a customer, second don't guarantee a 7 to 10 day window if you can't deliver. So now were 2 weeks out from when we placed our order. We have a date set for install and 3 days before that date, we receive a phone call saying we will have to reschedule and wait another week. That's over a month from when we ordered and paid for this carpet. We told them to cancel the order and we will take our business elsewhere. We then receive a phone call back saying they cannot cancel it because its a " special order" (we apparently have different ideas of what a special order is since I walked in their store and pointed to the sample I wanted) anyway, but get this, the owner could pull some strings and get the carpet in on time so we could keep our install date. Wow. So I'm writing this the morning of the install date...oh but wait they were supposed to be here 2 hours ago and I still have no carpet! Where are they? Well according to the incompetent woman at the front desk, the installer had some trouble on a previous job so he is using my time slot to fix it. And should be out to put my carpet in later this afternoon. My husband took today off work so we could move furniture and get this taken care of, now the carpet won't even be done until the time he normally gets home, so lost wages there. I will NEVER do business's with them again and will NEVER recommend them. Their loss too because we're remolding and they just lost A LOT of business. read more
