Absolute Propane is exactly what I was looking for when I did an online search for propane. Most propane suppliers make you trade your tank in, rather than refilling them and giving them back to you. Absolute Propane not only refilled my own tanks, but Judy stayed over to provide service for me as I arrived so close to their closing time. Judy was extremely helpful and had a wealth of knowledge and pointers for me in conserving my propane usage this winter. I definitely will be returning to the Deba Drive location for all of my propane needs. read more

Twice now I have shown up during business hours to apparently nobody working or just not wanting to work, sign says closed with the business hours on it but nobody home. Normally I don't write reviews but this experience has forced met to take action. I work as Global Perspective enthusiast, and travel for work all the time, but my most recent trip to Venezuela which was filled with problems already was met with even more turmoil, upon arrival back in Austin. After my flight was delayed 4 days, I arrived home to a house with a temperature of 58 degrees. I immediately called Absolute Propane to which the gentleman on the phone stated to me that it would be a minimum of 3 weeks before they could come out. I told him that would not work since it never should have hit empty to begin with, and I have 2 kids and a wife. I also informed the man on the phone that we slept in coats and jackets the night before. He told me I could take the 3 weeks or I could cancel and find another service. We stopped here to get our RV tank refilled. It's close to La Hacienda RV resort, only about 8 minutes away 15100 Debba Dr. CHEAPER than the propane at the RV resort. The man that helped my husband was a really nice guy. Excellent customer service. The man didn't know anything about the part of their yelp profile that says mention you saw them on yelp to get $1.99 price. It was still a reasonable price though. They just need to redo the yelp profile or make sure everyone working there knows about the deal. Not that big a deal. The customer service overshadowed that minor thing. read more

In terms of price, the old company I've been using for a few years is offering $1 more than the market price, while the Absolute is 10 cents less than the market price. Filled 100 lb tank and a couple of 30 lb tanks. John helped with a new regulator and all required connections. Fixed the valve on a tank that needed OPD. Great service and help with solving a challenge neither my plumber or contractor could not solve. My suggestion is that you get there early and get the tanks filled them before they leave to go on their routes. I liked them and will use them again when I need refills. read more

I just moved to a brand new home which uses a propane tank for gas & water. I've never used one of these before so no experience. During my shower I was suddently hit with ice cold water. The following day I called Absolute Propane. They wouldn't have an appt available till 5 days later but I told them I didn't have any hot water. They got a guy named Oscar out immediately. Oscar was so friendly. He even taught me about what to watch for and how to stay safe with gas. He got in my attic to check my water heater & made sure everything was working properly before he left. I am renting a house in Lakeway and the fireplace is propane and currently running through the small bottles daily. I finally called back and asked to talk to anyone that could help. I was told they only rented a larger size tank and if that did not work maybe I should just go without the fireplace. WOW! Great customer service. Have always been responsive and filled on same day of request. I suggest writing a check right when they hand you the invoice so you don't have to bother with mailing it in. No online payment option. Absolutely awful. They had one job, as explicitly stated in the service we paid them for - to keep our propane tank from hitting empty. So we were surprised, to say the least, when we came back from a weekend at the in-laws' to a cold, absolutely propane free home. But that isn't why I'm writing this, my first ever yelp review. Mistakes happen. I am writing this here, and anywhere else I can post it online, because, when my (unfailingly polite) wife called them to ask for help, explaining that we have a shivering young infant we'd prefer not turn blue and hard by morning, the man said "yeah, whatever," and hung up on her. With our previous company, we could not connect with a person, you never knew when/if they would come... it was a nightmare. But with Absolute Propane, they ALWAYS answer the phone ( no automated tree menus taking you nowhere), they tell you when the delivery will happen which is always really soon, and then they deliver! Their prices are better than what we had before and their service is what really makes a difference being by far the best of the best. For filling portable tanks, this company is not user-friendly at all. They have two people in the office, but none that are trained/willing to fill tanks. A customer is expected to drive to their location, pay, then drive back to pick-up at a later time because they don't keep staff on-site to fill tanks. I would recommend La Hacienda RV Resort which is only 2 miles away, the same price, and has staff on-site to fill tanks. I will not be going back to Absolute even though I bought my tanks there. read more

Been using Absolute propane for a few years,, mostly to fill tanks for food trailers. They have always been slow, but the past 2 months or so has been especially bad. It seems to me that they are having major employee issues. There was no one there during business hours. It took me three days to find someone at the office to fill tanks since the woman inside would not do it, I had to wait for a tech to show up. This week was the last straw. Three tanks to fill, all short in the 14lb range when I weighed them at home. I'll be heading to the provider in Leander from now on. The tech there at least will not spray half a tank of propane all over the parking lot because he didn't close the fill valve. read more

Got there at 8.45a to have my RV tank filled and told by front desk clerk, "you have to come really early, like at 'um, 7am, there is no one here to fill your tank...or maybe come on the weekends..." We live very close to this location and it would be very convenient but every time we go in the lady in the office finds every excuse not to fill our tanks. First thing she said today was "didn't you see the weather all week". Then instead of filling our tanks she tried telling us we needed to replace them instead of fill them . Couldn't be happier. Staff is friendly and informative both on the phone and in person. I learned a lot about my system, usage, etc. they did a thorough inspection of the lines, lit all of the pilots and made sure everything was up and running as expected. Their service has no fee, gas is $.10 cheaper/gal if you sign up and it's on them to eat the cost of leak check if your tank runs empty. They only bill you for what they pump into your tank. consumer be ware!!!! this company has been stringing me along for 11 months billing me close to $2600.00 worth of propane for 2 seniors who are only here 3 weeks a month. don't heat with propane (only cook and showers.) i kept telling them there had to be leak. they checked 2 times told me to get a plumber which i did and it cost additional $400.00. only to find out the regulator on the tank was so defective you could hear the gushing gas coming out. they should have known that. so $3000.00 later i am switching companies. i don't trust them. shame shame on them. read more

Absolute Propane came out twice to refill our underground propane tank in the span of 4 months. They did a "leak check" both times ($75 each), and we had to call them back the second time because there was a propane smell emanating from the tank. They came back out and replaced a leaky part that somehow wasn't caught during either of the leak checks (this was also a paid service call). After going through 200 gallons in 3 months (we were out of town for about a month during this time), we called Direct Propane. Direct also did a leak check, which was far more thorough than what Absolute had done and found that the part that Absolute replaced hadn't been fully tightened down, which likely caused the leak. I would ABSOLUTELY NOT recommend them for any propane needs. read more

Absolute Propane was an absolute God-send! I have a propane tank that only fueled my fireplace for the past four years. I used it to start wood logs. Recently, I happily switched to gas logs. My tank was under 20%. My tank is 57 gallons and weighs 200 lbs and stands about 4 feet tall. For the life of me, I couldn't find a place that would deliver propane under 100 gallons. In a last-ditch effort yesterday, I called Absolute right here in Lakeway. Sarah was super nice and undoubtedly sensed my frustration. Sarah said she would contact her driver to see if there was any availability this week. This morning, Absolute filled up the tank sight unseen. They left the bill on the door, which was much lower than expected. I definitely did not expect to have my tank filled let alone filled the next morning. There wasn't even an extra charge for expedited delivery. Everyone around should absolutely get their propane from Absolute. I have received no remuneration for using the word "absolute" in my review. :) I will now take my gas grill tanks to Absolute to be filled rather than exchange them at HEB. read more

I have been to numerous places of business and truly thought the idea of customer service was a thing of the past until I contacted Absolute Propane. The staff is extremely knowledgable, patient, understanding, and generous and they truly embrace the customer and their needs and my experience has made me realize at least one business cares about their customers and is passionate about what they do and who they do it for. I will NEVER go anywhere else and recommend everyone to visit Absolute Propane. I guarantee they will never be disappointed with their customer experience again. This is a very good business. The employees here are always helpful and friendly. The tanks are always filled to capacity and the propane is very clean. I drive up north with the RV and the propane never freezes... no water vapor in the tank! I usually get all my propane here for my RV and my forklifts. Although if you go by between 9:30 to 4:30, there won't be any one there certified to fill you tank and you will have to wait for a driver to come back to get your tank filled. The forklift never runs dry when its convenient (of course) and as a result I only buy 50% of my business related propane from absolute because I need it filled while I wait. How hard is certification? The old ladies at Paleface fill tanks... Perhaps the cashier at Absolute Propane could get certified? It sure would be more convenient for my own selfish purposes! I had been on a auto refill program and noticed that they come and fill my tank when prices are at there highest. Amerigas filled my tank and when I went online to check the invoice I was stunned to see that they were charging me 4.99 a gallon. I called their office to be told that there was a propane shortage in Texas, THERE IS NO SHORTAGE OF PROPANE IN TEXAS Google it! I did get t speak to a manager after I got a quote of 2.65 a gallon from Absolute Propane. He told me if I could get this quote in a email he would honor the quote which to his credit he did. I would suggest changing to a new provider mainly Absolute Propane, Debba Dr location. I have nothing but praise for Mitch the office manager who took the time to help me with my situation. I will be converting to Absolute Propane for all my needs and will recommend them to all my family and friends in the area. read more

Absolute rip-off! Needed to refill my propane tanks in a hurry and my go-to usual refill place temporarily wasn't accepting credit cards so I had to find an alternative. I had 2 x 20lb and 2 x 30lb tanks and one of the 30Lb was like 90-95% full. So when I unloaded my tanks one of the service associates started to fill my tanks and another one asked for my credit card. When I asked her about the price, she responded that "we charge per tank size, regardless of how much propane fits in" and "it is $20 per 30lb tank and $9 per 20lb tank". 3 of my tanks were almost empty so even though the price wasn't great, I was like "ok, I'll take this, I'm in a hurry anyways". I have asked the lady that was filling the tanks that one of the 30lb tanks is almost full, so please just top it off if you can. She silently plugged it in and immediately responded: "it is full, nothing fits in, but you will still need to pay $20 for it like it was empty" and "next time come to us when your tanks are empty - it'll be cheaper". WTF?? Really? Well, that's not it, folks. When I was dragging my tanks back to my car, the 30lb one that was already full felt like it is 1/3 heavier than the 30lb one that was empty and the one she filled up "full"! So instead of 75-80% she did probably put in only around 50-55% of the propane and claimed it "full". And of course they charged me full price: even for the one that she had put on the weight station and almost immediately took off! Gosh, if there was a rating of 0 star - I'd put it there! Total rip-off! Overpriced and unfair! Don't know how they still are in business! Absolutely do not recommend!!! read more

Last week I received a call from Mitch of Absolute Propane. He was concerned by my review on Yelp and asked for further details on the problem After a brief discussion. Mitch and I agreed that there had been a breakdown in communication on both sides. The propane tank HAD been filled in January, but as there was no invoice sent and no follow-up phone call from Absolute, I wasn't aware of this. Clarification of the services provided up front by Absolute would have somewhat alleviated my frustration. I take full responsibility for losing my temper. I'm very impressed that Mitch followed up, and we could discuss the situation. They had a truck at my house within half an hour of my call. The driver, Warren, was friendly, helpful and very courteous. Before calling our long-time LP provider in Dripping Springs for a refill, I decided to call Sharp Propane for a price quote. (This was yesterday, 3/17/14) Sharp quoted $2.65 per gal. The long-time provider quoted $2.99, so I told them about Sharp's quote, and was told "we still charge $2.99." I called Sharp back and was told they only did a long-term "care" program where they automatically came by to check and fill tank; and did not do "telephone delivery." I went online and found Absolute, which isn't far from our place. Called and was quoted $2.60 per gallon. The driver arrived around noon, and since this was our first delivery, inspected all our LP appliances. Found one small LP leak at our water heater, in the garage, fixed it, and filled the tank. I commend Absolute for their prompt response, the attention to the safety of the appliances, and their obviously competitive price. What's not to like?! read more

I called Absolute Propane October of 2014 to add 125 gallons to my tank. They said I had to pay an additional $75 so they could perform a leak test. I thought that I might as well since I live on a rental property and have no idea if it had ever been checked. They came out the next day, filled the tank with 125 gallons and said I had no leaks. I paid $350. Come the first week of January 2015, I ran out again. This is only 3 months later. Unfortunately, I called them back out. They said they did another leak test and filled it with another 125 gallons. I spoke with several competitors and they said there has to be a leak. Absolute said there were no leaks. Another $350. Less than a month later it was empty again. Freezing in my house and I have a newborn baby at home. I called the owner and he said it was not uncommon for us to use 125 gallons in just 1 month. Owner stated that I had signed their paperwork stating the leak test was performed and that he held no liability at this point. He was very rude and raised his voice multiple times as if I had done something wrong. That same day, my landlord ran a simple leak test and found 2 leaks less than 5 feet away from the tank and 1 more leak directly on top of the tank at the regulator valve. These are the issues I brought up and was immediately rejected by Absolute Propane. I Called the RRC to report my experiences with Absolute Propane. All they did was ask me my name and address then let me know that they would send an inspector out to check my landlords repairs and possibly fine him for doing the repairs himself. In the end, Absolute Propane was not held accountable for their actions nor did they offer to come look at the leaks they missed or offer us any type of resolution. Just left us with no heat and no stove. Absolute Propane is an Absolute scam. They cannot be trusted and will slap you with the fine print. No compassion, no professionalism and no customer service! read more
