Did an excellent job on house, windows and patio . The patio looks brand new. The outside windows glisten, no spots or streaks.

The project was completed as planned, exceeded my expectations and was done to my satisfaction. The entire team was professional and easy to work with. They answered all my questions and concerns during the process. The team was very neat and respectful of my home. The crew provided meticulous attention to detail and communication during the process was clear. They cleaned up the work area everyday after they completed their task. There were small cost overruns, but they were reasonable. I would contact them without hesitation for another job. The professionalism helped ease the stress of such a large endeavor. I am excited about enjoying my new outdoor space. I was pleased with the outcome and would highly recommend Creative Exteriors Plus.

Our builder (Churchill Classics) charged an arm and a leg, and we didn't want to go back to them for another quote, so I scheduled over 15 contractors to come out in 2 days. Of the contractors that came out, Agustin was the first. He was on time, knowledgeable, and gave me plenty of ammunition to go up against the remaining contractors. Although Creative Exteriors Plus was one of the most expensive options we looked at, it was also the only truly professional experience that left a great taste in my mouth going forward. Augustin of Creative Exteriors Plus is fantastic! I always look for contractors with strong integrity, who are honest, and who have no issues answering even the dumbest of questions. Agustin not only gave me peace of mind when meeting us, but he was also very open and honest about everything, from the work, scheduling, payment, and timeframe, to the actual products he used. Before screening in our deck, I wanted to stain/seal the deck and power wash it but didn't want to spend the extra capital getting it professionally done. Agustin also helped walk me through products to look at, steps to properly power wash, and troubleshooting via text the whole way through. At one point, I mentioned that my Google caller ID had picked up another business name, Prime Construction Corp, and I wanted to verify if this was related to him or what the connection was. Agustin called me right away and explained that it was an old business they contracted with bigger vendors, but during COVID, they pivoted and no longer have any affiliation with that business. He was quite surprised it popped up with his number. We had a great laugh about it, and I really appreciated how straightforward he was with this information. I love his transparency and honesty throughout the whole process, and we even contacted him again about possibly screening in/putting a roof over our walkup basement door. He was very candid, advising that having the window on the side and a lack of trees nearby would attribute to more cost and effort than a solid result. After brainstorming, we came up with the idea of buying screens and velcroing them around the rails (haven't put this plan into action yet), but I very much appreciate his candor and encouragement that this is a project I can do myself. The entire project was done in roughly 3 days: two days of work back to back, and then 1 Saturday due to rain. The screen is so beautifully and meticulously done that it doesn't even look like a screen is there. His team also managed to perfectly match our current post layout when constructing a new post and adding a door. The door also comes with a cool feature: it has a window that slides down. They also included 2 new keys for the door, and Agustin did a full walkthrough with us to ensure we were fully happy with the results. Before completing the deck, his team also power washed the bug gunk off the deck and removed some of the remaining tape I had forgotten to remove when I stained the deck. He also offered to come back and install our ceiling fan once we actually pick one out. He's local and always just a short text away if I need anything. I cannot recommend Creative Exteriors Plus enough and absolutely rave about Agustin to everyone I know! Thank you so much for all of your hard work, and we will definitely be using you again in the near future for fencing/patio options.

The construction team, Constantin (PM), and Tudor (Manager) were very easy to work with and responded to all our inquiries and took care of any issues promptly. We replaced the old wooden deck with Trex, extended the footprint, got all new railings, and added lattice around the bottom. We are incredibly happy with our new deck!

This is not the case here, we contracted for a replacement deck and it was completed beautifully in a timely manner and at the agreed upon price. The reason for the negative review started out with poor communication and ended up with racism and sexism. I am having a really hard time understanding who wrote the positive reviews that I see posted here - it doesn't seem like it could be the same Tudor we dealt with. There were indications that communications were off early on but we didn't heed the warnings. Once the project got going Montgomery decks created a group chat with three project managers. While they were responsive to messages in the chat, nobody showed up at the project from the company post sales other than the subcontracted construction crew. Not at the beginning of the project, not in the middle, not at the end. We had minor questions about cleaning up the site (especially nails), missing materials and color plans, and restoration of an electrical outlet. We tried to ask these in the chat but it was hard to communicate that in text so we asked for a phone call. They initially resisted but shortly after Tudor called and he was extremely confrontational, accusing us as well as the subcontractors of causing problems. He agreed to visit the next morning and started pretty much where the phone call left off. He referred to the subcontractors as 'you know how THESE people are' to blame them, then turned to the subcontractors to tell them that we were refusing to pay so they would not get paid. Our payments were made immediately upon request and we never suggested we would not pay. Then Tudor asked to talk to me (male) instead of my partner (female) in what appeared to be overt sexism. We love the deck the subcontractors built but if we had to do it all over again we would not go with Montgomery Decks at any price and encourage others to do the same.

Very disappointing experience, especially given their high rating…read more We signed an agreement with Blue Collar Scholars at the end of June for a new front and back fence and paid several thousand dollars toward the project. We understood that permitting could take time, particularly because our home is in a historic district, and our contract did not guarantee a completion date. My issue is not that the permit has taken time, it is how little they seem to have done during the time they could control. Before hiring them, my wife had already attempted to submit the permit application herself. It took her about two hours to put everything together, and the application was returned because an architectural drawing was required. We gave Blue Collar Scholars all of the paperwork from that attempt when we signed, so they knew exactly what was needed. Yet throughout July, we were repeatedly told they were "gathering documents" and "finalizing" the application. The architect they work with didn't come out to take measurements until August. Since coordinating their architect is within the contractor's control, we cannot understand why this wasn't done in July while they were supposedly "preparing" the permit application. It is now September 29, more than three months after signing and paying the deposit, and we have no fence and no approved permit. We've now been told there were comments on the application and that installation will take another 3-4 weeks AFTER the permit is approved. I don't blame them for DC permitting delays or historic-district requirements. I do blame them for failing to use the time efficiently and for providing vague, noncommittal updates instead of clearly communicating what was actually happening. After more than three months and several thousand dollars paid toward the project, having no fence and no approved permit is an extremely frustrating experience. Based on my experience, I would not recommend Blue Collar Scholars.

What a BEAUTIFUL job well done! I have a deck that is probably 30+ years old, and it was ROUGH (see…read morethe last two photos for before pictures). Some of the floor boards were rotting away so much that I was afraid to step on it for fear of falling through. Other boards were so frayed that it was a splinter nightmare. I worried about the safety of the deck, which made me not want to spend time out on it, or at least, not invite anyone else to spend time on it! There was also no way to access the deck from the outside, so any guests had to come through the house to access it. With a small group this wasn't a big deal, but for large neighborhood events this was a lot more difficult. I contacted 4 different companies to come out for an estimate, and Deck Impact was only one of the two companies who even answered/responded. Their estimator, Antonio, listened to what I was looking for and wasn't constantly trying to up sell me (like the other company was). He was able to give me a quote on site. My quote included replacing the floor boards, adding in another support beam underneath, painting the deck with a solid stain, and installing a spiral staircase. The work looks GREAT! I have been out on my deck ever day that hasn't been disgusting. When outside doing yard work, I've had multiple people share their adoration for the spiral staircase (which honestly has been a dream of mine since buying the house). The work ethic of their teams was incredible and they were very kind (I would leave out water and snacks, bring the dog around, etc.) and they were happy to share the different steps they were doing. They went above and beyond when small issues came up, working to fix them, which sometimes resulted in multiple trips. I know this was probably frustrating on their end, but they didn't show it to me. My only complaints, which are small and do not warrant a star deduction, but also I want to give a thorough review: sometimes, communication was lackluster. At times in the process, I had to reach out to get updates on dates when teams were coming out (after a week of not hearing anything). This very well may just be the nature of the trade, but it wasn't communicated to me that I wouldn't hear from them. But, every time I reached out I would receive a response within a day. Also after a couple of the work days (there were probably 5-6 total days teams were on site), there was a bit of trash left behind. Most of it was from demoing the floorboards, which were falling apart so I understand, but it was 3" nails and fragments of wood. The biggest concern was my dog running around. Also sometimes food wrappers and wrappers from construction materials were left in the yard. It's very possible it would have been cleaned the next time the crew was there, but with a dog, I had to spend time doing the cleanup so he wouldn't pick up something that would hurt him. Overall, I'm incredibly happy with the work Deck Impact did from start to finish and would easily work with them again and refer them to family and friends. While yes, there is room for improvement, the work they have done has made me enjoy my deck again without breaking the bank. Thank you guys so much!
