I often read reviews of establishments before I visit. I then conduct my due diligence and form my own opinion. Let me give you a quick background of myself before I go into it. I enjoy working out. It gets my day started immediately on a positive note. I can give more to my family, employer and friends. So, what can I say, I'm a little bit of a snob when it comes to gyms. I have high expectations because this is not only where my money goes, but where I start my day. I will try not to turn this into a short blog, so let me break down my review of AFA into four categories: 1. Access: Convenient hours of operation is 4 AM - 11 PM, 7 days a week, open on ALL holidays. Want to work out on Thanksgiving before you stuff your face, AFA is here for you! You get a nice blue fob and access it anytime your heart desires. No need to wait for anyone! Forget your fob and it's 4 AM, don't panic! Happened to my friend and she was buzzed right in. 2. Equipment: Up-to-date equipment, boxing bags, mats, TRX, free weights, assisted weights, etc. Plus, they are always adding new things! I have yet to see any equipment down for use. 3. Cleanliness: Okay, here is where my snob side comes in. I pay for something, I expect it clean and usable. Of course, there is only so much you can do when people are working out, but even then, equipment and benches were clean and weights put back to where they belong! It's funny, but there are video footages of the owners cleaning the floors! I was like... WOW!! 4. Security: Because I work out so early, I have a concern about safety. Cameras, cameras, CAMERAS everywhere! Inside and outside. Well-lit externally as well! I was even shown the live footage at the gym as well as on their portable business device. What I did not expect... during my tour and using the gym for about 5 days, I was able to chat with Tyler and his fiancé Lou the entire time. They were both very transparent about AFA! The reason for starting and their vision for the gym and fitness community. Tyler talked about fitness education and broke things down for me. Lou talked about membership, access, security and everything else you can imagine to ask. And boy did I ask her questions! You can see and feel their passion shining right through their smiling faces! They are proud of what they are doing and it shows with how they care for their establishment as well as their members! So... I joined the family! My overall review... OUTSTANDING! Don't wait to visit Absolute Flex Appeal. I am happy to be a part of the AFA Family!!!! Traveling 30 min each way is completely worth it (I have a huge gym 5 min from my home). The past couple months have been great. Thank you, Lou and Tyler, for creating an environment that fosters positivity and... Flex-Ability (see what I did just there?). read more

Honestly I am not sure where to start. I am a local and dedicated user of Cal Fit and won't stop going but the addition of Absolute Flex Appeal has been on my mind for months, since they were out at one of our Total Nutrition workouts, so I finally joined and im so glad I did. Tyler and Lou are awesome owners, super motivating and kind. They work with you to make sure you know the ins and outs and make you feel at home. 5-10pm access via keycode allows you to work on YOUR schedule and not the office hours, brand new equipment, assault bikes and everything you need for an ass kicking. Now, bear in mind this isn't your standard gym, while you get the bells and whistles with top of the line equipment, you also DONT get the luxury of a Big Gym, No locker room, no spa, no A/C but you get the self push that comes with getting over those challenges and really hitting that next level. The also offer personal training with a TON of awesome trainers, or do what I did, meet up with a buddy and make the gym yours! Affordable rates, good location (pretty far for me but worth it) and state of the art equipments means ill be back for a long time. The music is Loud, the fans are on, and like i said, you get a push from yourself that you might not know you had. If you don't like the music, or the side talk, bring headphones and go into your zone and get your work in and get out, no need to get into the rest of it, thats the beauty of this facility. I don't get how someone wouldn't take control of their own workout, towel, bottle, headphones, get in and own it, otherwise you leave it on the table. This gym is designed for the user to maximize THEIR time, corporate gyms give the support that gives you a "Feel good vibe" just for walking in, here you do the work and leave satisfied. Also, the "too cheap to provide A/C" comment i read earlier is simply laughable, If you want ALL of the amenities, guess who isn't getting the lowest rates for a private gym in the area more. YOU OWN YOUR WORKOUT. to Tyler and Lou thanks for the push to join, my only regret is I didn't do it sooner! - Greg B read more

Unfortunately, this gym claims to be all about "family" when they obviously only focus on the money they can get. They boast about how clean their gym is, but they only clean twice a week during a PANDEMIC. Masks are not required, many people work out without shoes or shirts. It gets worse, they will verbally attack you for leaving a review because contacting them privately is basically not an option. They don't respond to emails or phone calls. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS GYM. read more

I would never recommend this facility to anyone. The lady at the front desk has the worst attitude. I've been in the fitness industry my entire life and have never experienced such atrocious customer service until now. These people think they are the elite gym in the area. It's quite the opposite - I would never train at this facility. I'm not sure which niche they're trying to fill but I would never want to be a part of it. Save your money and save the disrespect and go somewhere else. read more

This place is amazing. Has equipment I haven't tried before and have top of the line equipment. Competitions in house and always wanted to watch but never did. Staff is family, so they treat you like family. They open early and close at 11pm. I'd give them a 5 if it was 24 hours. Overall all the gyms I been to this is my favorite one and the mural on the walls are beautiful. read more

Lupe, the owners girlfriend has zero costumer service. I won't write a whole page review, but make sure to cancel with front desk and not your trainer who works here because they will keep charging your credit card even if you're not a member. Also they have been charging my card through Covid-19, is that even legal? They had to close right? So why would they charge? They won't tell you what days they were closed. The management stinks, thanks Lupe you'll be hearing from credit card company. read more

I've spoken with two people over text message as they do not have a working phone system. This company is extremely disrespectful as a very low level of customer service and will attempt to scam you out of your money if any unforeseen circumstances hinder you from making your appointment. There are many better options for what this company says they provide and I would advise that you avoid stepping foot in this facility. Also a lot of the equipment that they say they offer is typically out of service and unavailable alley very few yelp reviews but I thought some transparency was necessary here If you look at the reviews you will notice the only positive reviews are from employees read more

Where to start...so first the facility is tucked away on on industrial and tinker road. *turn into the first left entrance* because part the parking lot is closed off due to the basketball facility sharing the same lot. But the ultimate goal is to park closer to the door cuz after leg day you'll regret parking on the other side. Lol kidding (not really). You literally cannot miss the gym because they made sure to wrap the windows with their logo. The entry is fob controlled which is great because it manages who comes in n out of the facility and keeps it secure on empty days/nights. You walk in and to the left is the office area and then past that is ALL THE EQUIPMENT! TRX, RACKS ON RACKS OF WEIGHTS, TURF! You name it, this facility has it. I also am an OG 24 hour fitness member but this is a great place to get the supplemental workout you need when you don't want to wait for all the gym bros/bro-ettes to give you breathing room when squatting. The facility is CLEAN, I emphasize clean bc nothing is worse than a grimy place to workout. Ps don't forget to re rack your weights because they do not tolerate that either. Ok on to the training- on top of membership they have different trainers. My guy and I doing coed training sessions together and we work with Tyler Glen. The thing I appreciate is that he listened to us, I hate push ups, can't do them for the life of me. And he modified our workouts to fit our schedule and goals. So kudos to you Tyler Glen! Lastly- the staff: This is a family owned operation and being a business owner I respect them a lot for what they have put into this gym. You can tell Tyler is passionate about his craft. Lou, she keeps things in line at the gym and makes sure that it's a smooth running ship with a genuine smile on her face. Tish, she holds down the fort alongside the team, and you'll see her working those weights when she's training. Overall take advantage of working out here. The pricing is very affordable compared to other mainstream gyms in town. This is a no fuss no frills- get your workout on and go home type of gym. Everyone is SUPER friendly & you can be in that gym and feel the family vibe they have going on. But I highly recommend this place if you're really wanting a solid gym to workout in without the hustle and bustle of people everywhere. read more

I'm kinda new to the area and this is the 3rd gym I've trained at and it's hands down my favorite!!! In college I worked out at a warehouse style gym and it was the best so I was SO happy to find one here. They have turf, lots of space, and a ton of equipment for functional fitness! Lou and Tyler have been really helpful and friendly and quickly helped me if I ever had any problems. The gym is super clean and the culture is perfect for people who are actually serious about fitness (opposite of planet fitness and places like that lol) read more

Im sure somebody likes this place. Maybe you will too. Do you want to listen to very explicit lyrics blasting first thing in the morning? Want to get that squeamish self conscious feeling while you work out with your trainer because the owners watch suspiciously? Do you want to witness/listen to a ranting tirade by the owner while working out? Want to overheat while you lift because they're too cheap to provide paper cups for the water dispenser or cool the place properly? Well then, you might enjoy your membership here. For me, there are way too many decent gyms to waste another minute here. read more

Lou and Tyler really made this place something great. Equipment is clean and up to date and facility is clean. The gym is nice and big and has plenty of space for various workouts. Unable to cancel my membership becuase the persons managing the "contact us" email dosen't check or do any calcenations until the friday of each week. The woman on the phone was VERY unprofessional! Telling me I had to have a written letter for a 30 day cancellation. Either way, her informing me, she doesn't "check the mailbox until friday of each week" or " I will get to your cancellation when I get to it" - I can't fathom treating anyone in such a way. Perhaps next time, she can assist me with my issue vs, telling me she will get to it when she gets to it.. Worst experince ever cancelling a membership.. Love coming to Absolute Flex and training with Brennik E! We aren't friends... we're family here and that's what it's about! Every time I come to train, I am able to give my all. My trainer Brennik trains me to my max limit where I'm super fatigued at the end of each session. I've been here I've been here since August 2018 and I go 4 times a week with my girlfriend and sister. Not only do we get the best training in the gym but I look around and all the trainers are showing the results in all there clients. Never leaving this gym and definitely recommend to anyone that wants to change their life! #absoluteflexappeal read more

Just did my 8 sessions with Tyler Glenn here at Absolute Flex Appeal. At first I was quite nervous since I've never done weight training before. Tyler was a great coach and super motivating without going all drill sergeant on me! I learned so much and got stronger (gaines muscles) which was what I was hoping for. Tyler also created a great meal plan for me which was super easy and fast to follow (and don't forget delicious). He also switched up the workouts so I don't get bored and was flexible in changing things up when I can't do something. I definitely reccomend Tyler! read more

I've struggled with my weight for years. Then I met Tyler! We tested some theories from fasting cardio, pre-workout workouts, to heavy lifting, played with my meal plan every other month (keto=omg) he took the time to understand my body and developed a program that not only produced visual results but scale movement. I've been 185 for 6+ years, but now I'm consistently dropping lbs and receiving compliments. ...... Tyler is amazing! If I hear "you look great," "how much weight have you lost?" and "you look fantastic," anymore, I might get a big head #summertimefineallthetime #yourtrainerstrainer read more

So I'm not an easy cookie! I lost 65 lbs on my own,at home kicking my own ass. Fast forward to 3 weeks ago...I'm back up 50 lbs and in need of some serious tough love. In comes Ty and just the right moment to say "you can do this,I believe in you, No matter what you've tried over the past year if you have goals I can help you obtain them." The last 3 weeks have been challenging. I have had muscles hurt like never before, but every time I walk away feeling absolutely amazing. Personal Trainer! Those two words make me think of celebrities and the elite. I picture screaming and epson salt baths afterwards. ... Well, I am not a celebrity nor an elite (except on Yelp). I am just a regular out of shape mommy looking to reclaim the glory days. I decided to hire Tyler as my personal trainer. And no, he does not yell or push you to the point of giving up. He is completely encouraging, engaging and energized. He seeks to find what motivates his clients. He asks exploritory questions to better serve his clients and enhance their workout experience. My first day I was quite nervous. I had only one past experience with a personal trainer. It was 10 years ago and I was in shape. The past trainer was quite rude with me and seemed very annoyed about everything. It was my first and last experience for 10 years. Fast forward to the first day of training with Tyler... I was nervously excited and unsure what to expect. We did a cardio warm up. We went right into our workout. I could barely lift 10 pounds. The machines were so heavy and he didn't even put weight on them. Also, more importantly, my confidence was down. It was quite reassuring to have an uplifting and happy person cheer me on as I began my first steps to a healthier lifestyle. He also gave me a customized meal plan. It is on an app. I can view my meal plan and log my weight, meals and exercise. I have worked with Tyler in the very hot summer afternoon and the earlier morning Every session he has been completely present and excited. This is so important because as an out of shape fluffy person it is hard to find the motivation from within. At this point of my weightloss journey external motivation is crucial. Although he is very friendly, he will motivate you to have the best workout every time. No time is wasted. It is a fun and satisfying experience to have Tyler as a trainer. I highly recommend going to Tyler. He is very hard working. He is available early mornings, evenings and weekends. You can call or text him to make an appointment. He is always wanting more clients. This is his full time job/business. read more

If I could I would give this place a zero stars I would. It's $50 a month and they don't have ac. This place is not very sanitary, people workout without masks, without shoes & without shirts. There is a water machine, but no cups provided & the actual water fountain does not work. There are cleaning stations, that often go unused. I've been trying to cancel a month now because I had my hours cut due to COVID & I'm pregnant with my first child, which adds to my concern of the lack of cleanliness. I emailed multiple times, called non stop and no one answers. Finally I drove there and the older lady at the front desk that seemed lovely at first, had originally said she'd speak with the owners about waiving my cancellation fee (10 more months of payments), gives me all sorts of excuses as to why there's 0 communication. Not to mention I received a text saying "refer to your email" as I was already driving over there. This email had been sent 1 hour before. Again I've been emailing since last week & the original request last last month. Long story short they want to keep me trapped in a year contract when I only went there a handful of times. They say their gym goers are family, but I have never felt so disrespected by a business simply with the lack of communication & I feel I was lied to. They don't care about us as long as they get their money. I will be filing a complaint with the better business bureau as well. read more

This facility is a great place to train personally or with one of the many great trainers. Huge fans to keep the place cool, treadmills, turf, and great weight racks/machines. I've trained with Joe there many times. Every training session will keep you on your toes with Joe and help make sure you always get those much wanted gains by keeping the exercises different. Owners are always great. Greet me personally every time they're in. Overall great place to train if you are really trying to make that change in your life. read more

This gym makes me super uncomfortable because they have not been following the proper COVID regulations. There were people working out without masks on. The gym isn't very sanitary either. During this pandemic it's so important for these regulations to be followed. Needless to say, I will not be returning. I also read in the reviews that they wouldn't let a woman who is pregnant cancel her membership. Considering they aren't following regulations and living up to their promises, people shouldn't have to live up to their contracts. I would recommend taking your business elsewhere!! read more

This place is really unique and awesome. I got to work out with Joe for a free first session. I normally don't like working out with other people so hiring a trainer I was a little bit intimidating to me. However, I felt comfortable right away. The gym is very quiet and does not have a lot of other people in it. Joe was really professional. I felt really comfortable and like I got a great workout. Joe made sure to pay attention to form etc so I wasn't doing things incorrectly or injuring myself. I got a lot accomplished in one hour and a lot of them things I have never done before. So I definitely learned some new workouts. I would definitely recommend to anyone. I left feeling much better and very inspired :-) The privacy lets you focus on what you are trying to get done and obviously they hire great trainers! read more

I've been working with Joe Coltrin for the past 4 months and have seen amazing results in that time, having lost 45 pounds training with him.I have never felt stronger or healthier. To start, at 54 years old, I found myself a few biscuits shy of 300 lbs, not where I wanted to be. I joined a great gym, Absolute Flex Appeal, and with the coaxing of my son, looked into his personal trainer, Joe Coltrin. While working out on my own, I would watch Joe, and see how engaged he was with his clients, how he pushed them to do more and be better. Watch Joe with a client, and you can tell that he's is passionate about what he does, passionate about fitness and most importantly, passionate about helping others achieve their goals. His energy and enthusiasm shows through in every training session. He makes workouts challenging, creative and most importantly, dare I say, a little bit fun! Sometimes the are the most grueling, painful yes- you-just-earned -that, moments of your life. He places a high value on correct form with each exercise, mind and muscle connection as he calls it, and motivates me to push past my perceived limits to get results that I want. It's not easy by any means, but I have found energy, my balance and flexibility have improved , I can do sit-ups and push-ups and I've found muscles where I didn't realize I had them. Joes words, "Be Mindful" ring true daily with meal choices, setting goals, and the choice of exercise and weight for the day. His enthusiastic commitment to his work and his clients, provide the ideal scenario for success and sets a great foundation for a healthy lifestyle. If you are serious about changing your life for the better, Joe Coltrin is your guy, he will lead you every step of that way. Well first of all, this place is my FAVORITE place to come ( and I didn't really like the gym environment before this experience) , Lou is literally the BEST.. and sweetest person that you'll ever meet she does not make this feel like I'm coming in and doing business she makes me feel like she's really my friend and looks out for my best interests.. Health and fitness wise.. this is probably the cleanest gym that I have ever been to and all the members of the gym really follow instructions which is very impressive they won't let you in without an appointment or membership which is great especially in a time of Covid on the loose. If you need cryotherapy or a new gym to join DONT even double think it, this is the place & I will never go anywhere else. I will literally pay for your membership myself if you disagree because that is how confidant I am in how much you will enjoy this gym, it's cleanliness and their services. I recommend this to anyone and everyone. read more

I've never been one to be unmotivated in the gym. Lifting has become part of my life, and I can adjust myself accordingly to wherever I can get a workout in. With that being said, the second I stepped foot into Absolute Flex Appeal a fire was lit and I swear I felt like this gym was made for me. They aren't like every other gym in the area. The owners care to know your first time. They actually listen when you talk, and if you need help it's absolutely no problem. I've always been one to wear big headphones but now I don't even have to worry about them. The music is loud, and they have good taste. It's one less thing to worry about when packing your gym bag. The atmosphere is unlike any other gym. You can tell everyone who walks through the door is there to WORK. Work ethic is not dead. There's no bullshit. Trainers are with there clients absolutely killing it and other members are putting in work to better themselves. It's something that is usually missing in big commercial gyms: the lack of motivation. If you're looking for a change I would highly suggest this place. If you're looking for a place you can be yourself, not be judged by a typical gym environment this place is for you. ALSO IF YOURE LOOKING TO LIFT HEAVY AND NOT BE YELLED AT FOR IT this place is also for you. 5 stars just isn't enough. read more
