Had a spoke replaced, drive side, and wheel trued by them and came back with cassette not properly tightened and loose spokes all over, waste of money and ended up with a much worse rim read more

Got a new bike, and I managed to need some repair work quickly. Kyle (?) had me up and running within 45 minutes of me bringing my bike in, and for a fantastic price. I also got a fitting from Nate, something I've never done. What a great idea -- I feel a difference already. Nate was patient and informative with an out-of-shape novice, and I'll be a happier rider for it. I also got a new rack, which Nate installed right away. If I could rate lower than one star I would. I went to absolute bikes to have them convert my 29er to a single speed, and they ended up saying I needed a $70 piece to do it. Couldn't get it to work, so I showed it to my friend, who then showed me how to do it for $5. Piece never worked. Then brought in my wheel to have them true it, and they said the rim had to be scrapped. When I went to get the hub and other gear back, I found out they had sold my brand new tire to someone else and had thrown away my perfectly good tube. I can't express my hate for this shop. Just an update to my first review of Absolute Bikes. They continue to provide excellent service, with friendly and knowledgeable staff. There is not much more to say besides this is a great bike shop and you should definitely go there if you need a bike or a bike repair. read more

Absolute has lots of bikes and a large staff and their mechanics are very good and knowledgeable. However that being said, they are also gonna gouge you when you walk in the door. Service is VERY VERY EXPENSIVE. A simple 5min true and 2oz of stans cost me over $30.00. Previous to that visit they mounted tires and tubes on a second wheel set and they charged over $40.00. $18.00 just for the 2 tubes alone!!! (The tubes should have been between $3 and $6 each at the most!) Would not recommend Absolute for service. Go to AZ Bikes on South San Francisco Street instead. read more

This is the place to buy all your bicycles and related gear in Northern Arizona! They are a great shop, with a knowledgeable staff, who will help you find that perfect fit on a new bike, help you fine tune your existing one, or help you find the coolest gift for a cycling enthusiast friend. I'm particularly impressed how much they are involved with their community by sponsoring and being involved with trail building and restoration, commuter event and elementary school student education. I took my dropper post in there and they said it would be done in two days. Two weeks later I go into the shop and ask them where it is because I didn't received a phone call from them. They lost the dropper post and the ticket. Terrible service and didn't even care that I was upset. Go somewhere else in town! read more

Great service, support and community advocates! Last week I brought my mtb in for a scheduled check and brake upgrade. They knew I was heading up to Colorado for some big riding, and when they discovered they didn't have both rotors needed, they got a rotor from another local bike shop and completed it on time. Earlier this month I had front shock issues, the shock mfg was dragging their feet, and Absolute Bikes helped me get back on my bike. Kyle, BJ and all the folks there want to do it right and make it right, and are a great part of the Flagstaff biking community! read more

Had a great experience with Absolute Bikes. I rented a mountain bike from them to hit some of the local trails. They directed me to trails, and a map, and gave me some tips to get out to the trail head. I would point anyone in their direction. read more

Don't get me wrong. The employees are very friendly and welcoming people. It's a nice environment. However, most everything in this store is overpriced. Can't get a couple of tubes without dropping at least $20. There are a few local shops like cosmic cycles, much smaller but much more personal and most importantly, cheaper. What can I say, I'm a college student and don't find myself rolling in the extra cash. If you got the $$ Absolute Bikes is a great place. Also, their Instagram is solid too. read more

Been here just to grab some bike parts, they offer decent prices and most of the staff are friendly, I think that some of the management lack in costumer service and aren't willing to work with you about rental prices, even if you are going to rent over 15 bikes in a day they will still mark up prices. After I had that experience I haven't gone back and found a new bike shop where the owner and staff are always willing to hear the costumer out and are very friendly. read more

First and foremost we can't thank Nate, Luke, Heidi & Anthony enough. We recently bought Specialized Crosstrails with the assistance of Nate (Store Manager). After riding the Crosstrails a few miles we decided lighter weight bikes would be better for us. We called and spoke with Heidi about our dilemma, she in turn spoke with Anthony (General Manager) in Nate's absence. She asked that we return to the store with the Crosstrails. Anthony gave us several options of upgrading our bikes. We took a spin on the IZIP electric bikes (much heavier, mind you we wanted lighter) and fell in love with them. Anthony was very gracious with the return and new purchase. We spend summers in Flagstaff, avoiding the California desert heat. This is now our go to Bike Shop albeit 400 miles from our home. We highly recommend this bike shop, clearly CUSTOMER SERVICE is number one!!!! read more

Amazing service when you buy a bike. The mechanics go through everything and rebuild and repack as needed. Then they fit you to bike with certified fitters. I have friends that have bought bikes from another shop and it looks like they took the bike out of the box and stuck on the loose pieces. They also include a few free tuneups to make sure the bike continues to work as well as when you bought the bike. I would not buy a bike anywhere else. read more

Huge selection of bikes, gear, clothing, and accessories. As a Flagstaff local I have love for all of the Flagstaff bike shops, but Absolute is my favorite. Even though they have a great selection of road bikes, they have the best selection of mountain bike in town. The staff is all familiar with the local trails and are always happy to share their knowledge with you if you're visiting town. Go shred the gnar! read more

We have been to many local bike shops in Flagstaff and Absolute Bikes is my favorite. It's easy to get to, although parking is a bit tough but RIDE YOUR BIKE! :) It's much better anyway. I always get great service and when we went into the shop in a pinch because my daughters bike had broken while on our ride they fixed us right up on the spot. Prices are reasonable too. read more

I have been to many shops within many states including Utah, Colorado and now Arizona. Having raced DH for many years and now deciding to go to school in Flagstaff, I needed a bike shop I could trust. This is not the place..... Half the time you go in you find great mechanics who know what they are talking about. The other half the time they spit out nonsense and throw random prices at you that end up changing later on. However, i have NEVER gone in there and gotten friendly service. They are usually just rude and have no passion for the sport. There's "absolutely" no reason to go here, there are other great shops around town that love biking, are friendly, and give you the best prices that they can. read more

I am with many other folks here about AB. I rented a bike and found the sell in great, but I found the bike i paid $90 to rent not well taken care of. One result of this is that the chain broke about half way in to my planned 3 hour ride. Fortunately I had a chain tool and know how to use it so was able to make the repair and complete the ride. On my return I was asked how the bike was and explained what had happened to the mechanic who checked me back in. His reaction? 'oh, OK.' Yep, that was it. I won't be back read more

I will NEVER bring my bike here for service again. Their customer service was snarky, the information I was given was inaccurate, and the up-charging was shocking. When I brought my bike in for a tune-up, the same person who had previously worked on my bike suggested I needed new cables even though he had just installed new cables less than 4 months ago. When I pointed this out, he said "oh" and then said "never mind." When I brought my bike in for a parts swap because of a cracked frame, I was told the parts were compatible with my new frame, but once they started working on the bike I was told I needed new parts that ran up the bill far beyond what I was originally quoted. To add insult to injury, when I was told my bike was ready I noticed they forgot to install the new front tire (as was discussed) and they forgot to size me up to the new frame (even though they said they would). Overall, it's very clear they are more concerned with squeezing money out of customers than they are with providing quality service. If you bring your bike here for service, all I can say is: buyer beware! read more

Great service! Being a Clydesdale, they took the time to make sure my Specialized Fatboy was setup with the right bars and stem to make it comfortable to ride. Not like another shop who just sent me out the door with a bike. Glad I returned that one and went with Absolute. Highly recommended. read more

Huge thanks to Nate, Chris, Anthony and Kyle for the great service, knowledge and attention to detail. This is now my local bike shop, and I've been to them all after moving to Flagstaff less than a year ago - easy decision since the others just weren't as helpful, knowledgeable or experienced. If you're looking for a shop with several helpful people there for you, rather than one that revolves inexperienced NAU students in and out of the staff then this is the one. If you want to know several locals who know all the trails and paths worth riding (rather than just the standard trails recommended by a couple of disgruntled oldtimers) this is your place. And if you want a shop that listens to the customer rather than giving you the "sorry, that's our policy" B.S. then this is your shop. It's been a great experience so far guys - my new bike frickin rocks! read more

Absolute was first eBay purchase I made. I bought a mtb being retired from their rental fleet. Could have been a very risky buy. However, bike was truly as described (as checked out by my local bike shop upon arrival) and in the condition they promised. Shipped promptly and was well packed. The staff there was particularly helpful on-line as was my first eBay purchase. Would definitely recommend them and will rent from them when/if I go jump the Grand CAnyon when my son gets a coupe of years older. read more

We walked in off the street on Wednesday 8/15/2012 to rent two bicycles. The transaction was quick, easy, and complete, and included water bottles, the use of a lock, and instructions on using Flagstaff's Urban Trail System to get to our destination. And the price was right. read more

Absolute Bikes in Flagstaff saved my fully loaded self supported/self contained tour from Flagstaff to the Grand Canyon and back last week. Five miles out of town on the first day of our tour, my chain broke and then the rear derailleur and hanger twisted into a pretzel. I called the shop and spoke with "Kyle" the Service manager. He told me to bring it in and they would make an assessment. I got to the shop with my injured bike mid morning. PJ and Kyle did a visual check and told me that the bike would be fixed in an hour. Bam, it was done in less than an hour and waiting for me at the front counter after a walk around the neighborhood and a brief stop at a local coffee shop. They repaired my bike PDQ. The shop personnel are friendly, welcoming and efficient. The shop location is ideal for bike tourists directly across from the Amtrak station on Route 66 in the heart of Flagstaff downtown historic area. The shop has a great selection of parts, accessories and bicycles to choose from. The staff is polite, professional and don't overwhelm you. I'm am a former Bicycle shop owner and lifelong cyclist. They get it right. Don't be intimidated by the bling. Browse, look around and know that they will take care you what you need and or want when it comes to bicycles. Service is what separates the great from the good shops. read more
