Lots of good bike shops in town. But this one is currently my favorite. Great service with great attitudes.

Dropped off my snowboards at this place to have them tuned as they had a big sign out from that said snowboard and ski tuning. 5 mins after leaving them the kid behind the desk called me to tell me I would be charged a 25% fee for a next day pickup I said never mind I will be back to get my snowboards never again will I go in this place absolute joke!! All in all, we had a great time biking in the beautiful mountain bike trails of Flagstaff. As far as our bike shop experience, however, I was incredibly disappointed. My husband and I were visiting Flagstaff with family over our Anniversary and had coordinated a day of biking while our infant son was babysat for the day. I called two weeks in advance and confirmed our rental at least four times by phone, each time feeling satisfied with my over the phone customer service. We had planned to pick up our bikes the day before our full day rental, after confirming this with an employee who told us to arrive at 5-5:30 on Sunday night to pick up our bikes for an additional $10 charge for day-before pickup. We showed up at 4:45 only to find the shop closed. We were so confused and frustrated! We had to coordinate a pickup from family, who graciously agreed to drop us off the next morning for our full day rental. We waited for the shop to open 5 minutes late. When we asked about what had happened the previous night, the employee said they had decided to sporadically close at 4:30 ( 30 min early) and forgot to check their rental books before doing so (and also never checked their voicemail to hear my heads up call). After re-confirming our rental for the 5th time, the employee proceeded to find bikes that fit my husband and I and then spent the next 25-30 min prepping the bikes, which should have been ready for our rental before the shop opened that day (in my opinion). We both work at bike shops in MN and love the casual small-town feel of a local shop. I want to say that I really enjoyed my experience here, but honestly, this is one of the worst examples of how to run a customer-facing business I have experienced. :( read more

I crashed my bike and needed repairs. Since I live out of town, I asked if I could bring it in when they opened and pick it up in the afternoon. Yup! Ian gives expert service, expert repairs, and is very considerate of his customers. Cosmic had a great reputation when I arrived in Arizona in 1977. Awesome place with great service. I was in town from the Valley with no tools and needed a few odds and ends tweaked on my bike. I rolled it in and they threw it right in the stand on the spot. I was in and out in 15 minutes! read more

What an awesome bike shop owner! I needed to rent a bike for just one ride and the owner was flexible on how much the rental would cost based on how long I was out for. My friend had forgotten his helmet and the owner made sure he had one. Since we were just visiting town he even offered to loan us his multi-tool, pump and spare tube for the ride. Then he took the time to extensively go over a map of all the local trails and provide us with the best ride possible. What an awesome guy! Unbelievably friendly, generous, good guy running this place. It's clear he goes out of his way to take care of his customers. I would trust him to wrench on my bike and never feel like I was getting taken advantage of. Also the location has changed, they're now located 4 blocks away on East side of N Humphreys Street between Sullivan and Columbus across from Kick Stand Coffee. read more

Scott was awesome to work with as he helped me get set up with a schweet new Yeti. He took the time to listen and explain the ins and outs of my new ride, and really went the extra mile by delivering the bike to me at home after the shop closed for the day! (Turns out you can't fit a 29er + car seat + 6-month old all in the same backseat) I can't recommend Cosmic highly enough. My beer fridge is open anytime, fellas! read more

New to flagstaff this school year and I really like mtb and found a few shops around town. A few lack costumer service but not Cosmic cycles, they have done all the repairs on my bike and do an awesome job. They are all super nice and helpful and really want to have every costumer leave satisfied. I had family come up awhile ago and they gave us a great deal on bike rentals for the day and even took some bikes out to the trail where we were at. I recommend cosmic cycles to any body with an interest in biking, they are friendly and offer great prices and are understanding and willing to work with costumers. Scott and his coworkers are all good guys and know a lot about their profession. read more

I love the staff here! They were honest, efficient, and fixed my problem quickly although they were a little pricier than others. I ended up having more problems than I thought with my bike, however they called me and gave me a quote. Great people here. Apparently they are under new ownership, so those who have had problems with them in the past might want to consider going again. read more

I drove up from Phoenix to ride for the day but forgot my helmet and they let me buy a like new $130 TLD rental helmet for $50. Thanks for helping me out guys! read more

Great Bicycle shop! We traveled from Minnesota to Flagstaff in the summer and we were outfitted (rental) with GT mountain bikes (rockshox and disk brakes) for a great price. All kinds of fantastic trails in town and beyond. Great service and bikes. Will return if we're ever back around. If I'm in the market for another mountain bike I'd love to buy from this shop. read more

I've used this company a few times and at first they started out fine. Upon going a few more times I realized this company is nothing more than trying to take advantage of their customers. They failed to offer insurance when stated on their website it is available. This simply shows the willingness to take advantage of customers. This companies waits for an inexperienced rider to rent a bike, send them on their way in hopes of them coming back with an expensive repair bill only to help the company. I would NEVER recommend this bike shop to anyone. Absolute Bikes is the place to go in Flagstaff, it's a bit more expensive but worth every penny. Absolute is not a hole in the wall shack or willing to hurt their customers. read more
